It's a Team - Up Thursday with Sal Buscema

Attentive blog followers may have noticed that my last post from SAL BUSCEMA MONTH about THE DEFNDERS has been slapped with an NSFW warning but since I have no idea what part of the post is causing the problem ( anything in the pop culture trivia / cult siren section has been copied from other posts that have gotten the all clear so it must be the comicbook part although all of the pages have been approved by the Comic Code Authority ) I can't do anything about is and so we continue with another series Sal Buscema worked on and which I haven't covered yet : the ever so popular Spider - Man crossover title MARVEL TEAM - UP.

I already mentioned in my first HULK post for SAL BUSCEMA MONTH that thanks to Sal Buscema's work on MARVEL TEAM - UP we the readers got the impression that all of the heroes really lived in the same universe.

What's more a lot of Marvel Comics heroes debuted within the pages of that title or were re - introduced to readers so that Sal Buscema's look became the defining look for them. Apart from that there is not much to say - either about MARVEL TEAM - UP or Sal Buscema - that I haven't said before. As for the pages in this post : initially I wanted to do a Best Of The Best post with some of the pages who have had the biggest impact on my life but as no surprise to longtime followers it has turned into a Best Of The Breast Black Widow spotlight. And since the Defenders post has an NSFW label I am also including some pages from MARVEL TEAM - UP issue 34 in which web head teams up with the Defenders resident blonde Busenwunder the original Valkyrie ( who is not part of Asgard's elite female fighting force no matter what the movies try to sell you ).

Now with the rise of a i everywhere you have to be careful when a movie on YouTube claims to have different dubbings because in most cases they are made by a i and just sound awful. But here it is the genuine german dubbing as that is Gert Froebe's actual voice. That's right : Gert Froebe, best Bond villain of all times in a martial art movie so I couldn't pass that up. When I found out that the original french title is Docteur Justice and that the main character - Doctor Benjamin Justice - is a crusading doctor with the World Health Organization, a swimming champion, philosopher and karate expert I thought we had one of these bad superhero movies like Puma Man or Supersonic Man. So imagine my surprise when I found out that the movie is the adaption of an actual comic series created by Jean Ollivier and Carlo Marcello for weekly boys magazine Pif Gadget.
