Her posts have become a much beloved annual tradition so I wanted to do a new version of last year´s re - post and my initial plan here was to re - post the entire post and pimp it to the nines with some animated GIFs.
But I guess that it´s true what they say about the best laid plans of men and mice because this year I haven´t got the time and last year the strain was too big after adding all the GIFs and the page did not load completely anymore. So I had to cut a lot of stuff and pictures. In the end I made 3 new posts : one for Becky Mullen, one for Janet Jones, and one for Leslie Easterbrook who plays Callahan and had her best scene in Police Academy 4 - Citizens On Patrol where she emerged from a pool with a wet t - shirt .
Her spin - off post gets also re - posted on most years and it used to be in one post together with Janet Jones Gretzky who starred alongside her in Police Academy 5 and Becky Mullen . I also wanted to do a new version of Leslie´s post as well as Becky Mullen´s latest re - post from 2016 because there is some new material I already prepared in advance to add later on.
The post also included 80s cult siren Monique Sluyter and the Tutti Frutti girls but that part got too long and I had to give it a post of its own which I re - posted in 2016 in a new and better version . She was a candidate from my Justice League of America casting series - I cast her as Fire a.k.a. On the same day Julia Louis Dreyfus celebrated her 57th anniversary. To Today´s audiences she´s best known as Vice President Selina Meyer on the comedy show Veep but I saw her first as the funny and unbelievably sexy Elaine Bennet on cult show Seinfeld. Apropos memory, one of the reasons why I mentioned Nicole Eggert and Traci Bingham - besides the opportunity to link to Traci Bingham´s past posts for newer readers - is that when I went over Today´s birthday list the name David Chokachi jumped out at me. As it would to anybody who has followed Baywatch since he started his acting career there. He was a cast member from season six to season nine and he was the boyfriend of Pamela Anderson and later became intimate with stripper Carmen Electra - well, at least Cody Madison, the character he played on the tv show did.
What happened in real life nobody knows. Pamela Anderson and a few others - including David - have gone on record saying that everybody on Baywatch engaged in wild sexual activities with other cast members after shooting but there is no definite list and the only thing that everyone confirms is that David Hasselhoff did not participate in these sex orgies.
Now the Baywatch connection alone would be reason enough to mention David Chokachi but there is also a comic connection. After Baywatch he starred as Detective Jake McCarty in the Witchblade tv series with Yancy Butler as Sara Pezzini. The series was short lived but not because of the quality. Some episodes were even written by Witchblade creator Marc Silvestri and the show lasted two seasons and was ranked seventh in the Top Ten Basic Cable Dramas for 2002. David is still acting and apparently he is currently involved in doing a screenplay based on the graphic novel Unit 5. Since I haven´t seen the Baywatch movie - yet - I finally get to post the episode of Family Feud that I never seem to find when I´m looking for it. David is not on it but we do have Nicole Eggert and Pamela Anderson.
From the small screen we make our way to the big screen with Caroline Munro who celebrates her 69th birthday and who should not be mistaken with Carolyn Monroe whom readers of this blog may have seen in some posts where I mentioned Bart Sear´s ultimate version of Power Girl.
Caroline Munro is a cult siren really deserving the title since she starred in everything from Bond movies like The Spy Who Loved Me to sci fi flicks like Starcrash ( which I had the misfortune to see and can only recommend for Caroline Munro fans because of her skimpy wardrobe ) to horror movies like The Abominable Dr. Phibes and Dr. Phibes Rises Again to Hammer productions like Dracula A. D. 1972 and Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter to sword and sorcery classics like The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad which is where I probably first saw her. I went to the cinema in Kornwestheim to see it and Caroline´s supple cleavage - which she showcased in a variety of very tight fitting outfits - was a big part of the appeal of that movie.
I thought I had already written something about Caroline but it seems I was keeping that for my Hammer movie posts which I have to continue one of these days. I don´t want to post too many interviews so here is Caroline on The Howerd Confessions which is probably another famous british comedy show I never heard of. Maybe Terry Hopper can confirm it.
Since this part of the post has a big asian slant I want to include a cartoon video that goes with that so here is one that I could not fit in one of my latest posts. It´s the opening to the 90s X - Men cartoon for audiences in Japan and I think this must have sucked for them. Because the intro looks way better and is much more dramatic than what ultimately followed. The kids in Japan must have been completely pumped for X - Men and probably threw up when the real cartoon came on and they thought " What is this dreck ? Curse those round eye gaijins ! This is worse than Hiroshima ! "
