Today is Alan Davis 61st birthday so we take another look at what should have been one of Marvel´s best selling mutant books of the 1980s - and it would have been if the title had been X - CALIBUR instead of EXCALIBUR.

Now last year I posted the complete EXCALIBUR - THE SWORD IS DRAWN graphic novel by Chris Claremont and Alan Davis. The idea was to bring more attention to this severely underrated and underappreciated by comicfandom in general series. I don´t know if it was really my post that got things going but soon after the first Epic Collection was announced that reprinted this book. There had been trades before but most of them were out of print at that time so I´m glad that at least the first 11 issues of the series are out there again and can hopefully find a new audience.

Which is why instead of just doing a post with Alan Davis best inked pages - or at least the best ones I could find - I had to make it difficult for myself and make another EXCALIBUR - centric post. First the idea was to include stuff from the issues reprinted in the Epic Collection but then I decided to go for quality instead which brought the dilemma that most of the pages ( the bulk of them was found at HERITAGE AUCTIONS ) are from later issues. So this is less a celebration of the first 11 issues - although there is a page from the second issue - and more a taste of things to come. As usual I am posting the color versions alongside the black and white art but this time I couldn´t find any good original color pages. One last thing I want to clear up before we get to the wonderful art pages by Alan Davis.

For me the title of the graphic novel was not a good choice since it panders to one of the biggest common misconceptions concerning the arthurian legend. Excalibur was NOT the sword in the stone. Arthur pulls the sword out of the stone looking for a sword but the sword in the stone got destroyed later on and THEN the Lady in the Lake gives him Excalibur.

Since I always knew I was going to return to Alan Davis´ Excalibur there are a few links I kept from posting like GENTLEMEN OF LEISURE which has a post on Excalibur 16. Originally I wanted to save it for my second post on the Marvel Visionaries : Chris Claremont but since it will be in the next Epic Collection of Excalibur ( at least if the continue with the issues 12 and onwards that contain The Cross Time Caper, and don´t jump forward in continuity like they did with many other series ) I´m including it here. 

PSYCHOADCOMICS examines Excalibur 43 as does SCANS DAILY which has a double feature with Excalibur 48 that introduces Nightcrawler´s new team : Nightcrawler´s Technet and THE ROBOT´S VOICE has 8 Exceedingly WTF Moments in Chris Claremont´s Excalibur Comics. Since we are on the subject of WTF moments in Excalibur, Brian Cronin in his column The Abandoned An´ Forsaked on COMIC BOOK RESOURCES takes a look at the Excalibur Special : The Possession that f - worded Alan Davis´ plans for the series up so badly he felt the need to address this in an issue of his run and take that story apart bit by bit. To wrap things up, one of the fan favorite members of Excalibur is the beloved Kitty Pryde and since I will probably never do a spotlight on her here is MARVEL COMICS OF THE 1980s four part series Growing Up With Pryde ( part 1 / part 2 / part 3 / part 4 ). 

Aside from the usual list of comic related birthdays I missed since my last post but which I covered in previous years like Ross Andru , Herbert Feuerstein , Brent Anderson and Neal Adams ( who got a DC post and a Marvel post ) I want to give an honorable mention to german Power Girl Sibylle Rauch. She celebrated her 57th birthday on the 14th of June and she was one of the biggest ( 38D ! ) erotic actresses back in the day.

Before becoming one of the most successful porn stars with one of the biggest german porn companies ( her sales records breaking movie BORN TO LOVE even guest starred british porn superstar Sarah Louise Young ) Sibylle played in a lot of the erotic movies that swept Germany in the 80s but her most famous roles were in the israeli series of erotic comedies EIS AM STIEL ( Lemon Popsicle in english ) that were among the most watched movies in Germany at that time. The movies follow a trio of friends on a quest to loose their virginity and as usual sex hijinks and breasts ensue.

Sibylle used that popularity to jump start a singing career ( this was the time when women with big breasts like Sabrina Salerno, Danuta or Samantha Fox became big stars thanks to the predominance of music videos ) and she was the publisher - as well as the face and body - of the german HUSTLER from 1992 till 1995. She did a lot of cocaine and I thought she had died in 1997 but apparently she survived her suicide attempt.

And we continue Todays birthdays with another bigbreasted sexbomb that was born to do porn. Paula Abdul who turns 55 was the Carmen Electra of my generation as she shook her booty like there´s no Tomorrow and slid her centerfold body up and down stripper poles like a real professional in videos like Crazy Cool. To the young kids she´s known as the crazy and drunk judge on American Idol and I´m not sure if I should be sorry or glad about missing all those episodes because Paula´s XXL porn cleavage gave the term " push up " a new definition. Or should I say a new dimension ?

Are we really to believe Simon Cowell never taped that ? Man, if Paula would have been my co host I´d be f - wording her brains out in her trailer every chance I get. I mean from what you hear Paula Abdul was like a cat in heat around Simon. Anyway, while Paula and Simon Cowell repeated the experience ( at least one of the two ) on The X - Factor Paula is not one of the judges on The X - Factor UK. Nevertheless I decided to post another performance by 4th Power from that show. They seem to go by the name of 4th Impact now but I´m too tired to go back and change all of the tags.



We also have some comic related birthdays Today starting with Shaky Kane, one of the deranged masterminds behind The Bulletproof Coffin and The Bulletproof Coffin : Disinterred who has reached the big 60. Or maybe he IS really just a figment of our collective imagination and there is no real Shaky Kane. Be that as it may what IS most definitely real are the Bulletproof Coffin comic books which longtime readers of this blog may remember me pimping as the best comic you are not reading and also the best new version of WATCHMEN without trying to be the new version of WATCHMEN. High praise indeed but I am not kidding you it´s all deserved.

I discovered this comic thanks to Terry Hooper´s fantastic blog COMIC BITS ONLINE ( which you all should follow religiously as long as it lasts ) and if I should describe it to somebody in a short sentence I would probably say it is Alan Moore and Grant Morrison going on a peyote induced trip after drinking too much tequila drawn by Jack Kirby meets Geoff Darrow with every pop culture thing you love thrown in from dinosaurs to zombies.

I know that a lot of people are put off by the art reminiscent of old pulp comics but let me tell you it does not only grow on you from issue to issue but while you read you suddenly understand why it couldn´t possibly be drawn in any other art style. This comic has my highest recommendation and if you don´t enjoy the heck out of this comic you are probably not a genuine pop culture geek and only picked up a comic because it´s trendy.

And it´s okay if you don´t believe me, but before you say " Hogwash ! " and turn your attention to other things maybe you would rather put your trust in Nevs Coleman on FILTHY ORPHAN or P. M. Buchan at STARBURST who has everything you need to know about The Bulletproof Coffin new and old in one place. The birthdays continue with Kathleen Turner who celebrates her 63rd. To tell you the truth I never understood her type casting as femme fatale but I guess it has to do more with her voice than anything else since she was chosen to be the voice of Jessica Rabbit and Jessica sounds hot like hell. 

Who looks like a real life version of the toon with the impossible curves every man dreams about is italian MILF Celina Rucci. Longtime readers may remember that I posted a video of her in a previous post. Like I predicted the video was erased from YouTube but luckily I had made some GIFs and I could substitute the original video with another one from the same scene.

With Celina´s obvious resemblance to Jessica Rabbit it was only a matter of time before she took on that role and what better opportunity could present itself than the argentinian strip show Bailando Para Un Sueno ?



We start the section of the dearly departed with another comic birthday, Robert Kanigher who co - created a lot of characters that I enjoyed in the pages of Jim Aparo´s The Brave and The Bold like Ragman, Rose and Thorn and the Metal Man, the last two with aforementioned artist Ross Andru.

He also co created characters like Poison Ivy, The Viking Prince, Enemy Ace, The Losers, The Unknown Soldier, The Haunted Tank, The Sea Devils, The Losers, Sgt. Rock and the original version of the Suicide Squad.



We stay with comic related anniversaries and the late Mark Gruenwald, one of the most beloved creators at Marvel. One of his pet projects was the Squadron Supreme which in my opinion is a much better comic than Watchmen. While Alan Moore and David Gibbons mini series has its place in comic history they didn´t have to work in an already established continuity and so didn´t have to leave the characters intact for further use. So they had it easy and I don´t doubt that Mark Gruenwald would have created something at least as good under the same circumstances.

There have been many versions of the team since and the last one I bought was the mini series about the Squadron Sinister - the evil incarnation of the team that first appeared in the Avengers - by Carlos Pacheco that was one of the few readable New Secret Wars tie ins ( I can´t call it Secret Wars because whatever you might think about the quality of Secret Wars or Secret Wars II at least those were original ideas ). The series was a huge success which according to Carlos Pacheco is due in part to the fact that Guggenheim is an even bigger fanboy than him.

Now usually I try to include a cartoon video in my posts and readers who have stumbled upon this post before it´s final version may remember that for a brief time there was a video with a deleted scene from Who Framed Roger Rabbit ? instead of the one by Celina Rucci. What happened was that I found that while looking for the video of April Hunter dressed up as Jessica Rabbit. I also found the video below of a very rare PayPerView so I also included it. But then I came across the video with Celina Rucci - which I naturally had completely forgotten - and since she´s hotter than April Hunter I threw out the video with the deleted scene. Keeping with my own guidelines for the selection of videos I should have substituted the video below with a cartoon video but as I said these kind of videos are hard to come by, especially exclusive all female wrestling events.



Speaking of rare finds on YouTube, for my german readers I´m including the pilot of Stingray, one of the best tv series with the very underrated Nick Mancuso in the lead role. Ah, the good old days when all you needed to fight crime, corruption and injustice was a fast car. Tv can be so easy.

Erika Eleniak repost third time´s the charm

Today busty Baywatch beach body par excellence Erika Eleniak celebrates her 47th birthday so I thought it´s high time to re - post her entry.

This is the second repost which means that I first posted this in 2014 and in the meantime there have been many risky animated GIFs and my blog has not been deleted so I must have managed to keep it at a level that readers are still comfortable with reading. There are some animated GIFs that are new for this post but not new to the blog, most of them have appeared on other posts and the world hasn´t stopped spinning. In any case, if this is still too much you can check out last year´s repost here .

Erika has been in a lot of movies but she´s probably most famous for her sexy striptease in UNDER SIEGE which is what this post will be focusing on. Which is also one of the reasons why I didn´t do a post about her sooner. Now longtime readers will already know that her striptease is on my Top Ten list of movie stripteases. I know, maybe it´s not on the official Top Ten or your personal Top Ten but it sure as hell is on mine. And one of my goals has been to do at least one post about all the entries on my list.

I also already had written a post about this on my old boob blog that´s probably still out there. Now you might ask yourself where the problem lies. Well, the thing is that I try to keep the post safe for work and most the Erika Eleniak pictures I had were full frontal nudity or at least with a lot of exposed breast. Not that I have a problem with that. But like I said, I tried to keep the post safe for work and how should I do a post about a particular scene when I can´t post any pictures ? I know that it is totally doable since there are also other pictures from the movie but for me this would feel too much of a tease. I always hated it when writers put scenes in comics that involved nudity well knowing that the artist were never allowed to draw them and had to come up with a way to make it work. Which always never works. Because comics are a visual medium and if you fail to bring a visual gag over in a visual medium you have definitely failed. Whenever I read such a scene I was seriously ticked off.

So you might ask why I´m doing this post. Well, to tell the truth I have blogger and myself to thank for this. Since I figured out how to make screenshots I´m not depending on other people´s screenshots and I can do my own which are not that risky. Okay, some of them may be and I´ll probably include one shot of Erika Eleniak in all her stripper glory but only for scientific reasons, I promise. I also have already posted some pictures without having any reader complaints so I´m keeping my fingers crossed.

The other reason for doing such a post and hoping to keep it safe for work is that blogger now allows to post animated GIFs. So far the posting of GIFs was possible but you ran into trouble because blogger didn´t show it right. But now that´s possible so instead of filling this post with dozens of risky screenshots I can just post one GIF of her striptease and if readers have a problem with that they can just quickly scroll over it.
 

With all this in mind you might ask why I still feel the need to do this post. Well, this blog is also about giving tribute to all the neglected or forgotten cult sirens out there who bare it all ( so to speak ) to turn unbearable dreck into fun trash and who never get top billing or awards.

They never get credit or the big bucks but nevertheless they work hard and are prepared to show it all - unlike some actresses who are extremely hot but who will never get naked on screen - just so we can get a little something from awful movies that otherwise would be a waste of time.

Anyway, the list is far too long to post here but you get an idea this kind of post is not unprecedented on this blog.

I just hope I don´t loose too many readers because of this. The daily hits have been a bit weird over the last few months, first rising to almost 3,000 a day - sometimes even going over that - then dropping to barely above 750. Now it seems to have leveled out between 1,200 and 1,500 a day with 2,000 hits on good days. I don´t know why that is, maybe it has something to do with the fact that lately I have been posting on an almost daily basis and I managed to keep such weekly series like FLASH FRIDAY or more cult siren posts but in the meantime I will soldier on. And if you have some time drop me a comment even if it´s only to show me that it still works.

Today´s only comic book related thing is that I cast Erika Eleniak for the role Hawkgirl in my Justice League movie and you can find her part in the JLA CASTING SPECIAL BAYWATCH EDITION together with Carmen Electra.

Retro babe of the week : Erika Eleniak strips on Under Siege

Time for a dive into the vault for some awsome striptease goodness courtesy of the ever so popular RETRO BABE OF THE WEEK series. Today´s contestant is playmate and Baywatch babe Erika Eleniak whose claim to movie sex icon fame is her incredibly hot striptease on UNDER SIEGE .

Erika started on Baywatch where in one of the first episodes she got into trouble because of some raunchy pictures of her that were published.

Which at that time didn´t make much sense because her breasts were rather average and only grew to the enormous size she has been known for ever since in later episodes of one of the most successful series on the planet. I bet David Hasselhoff wished he had known this before.

So Erika Eleniak became the " queen of the mountain " on Baywatch with the biggest boobs around ...... until Pamela Anderson came around.

Like Pamela Anderson she also appeared in Playboy and was the playmate of July 1989 although I´m not sure if the pictures where she wore part of a uniform much like the one she wears in her famous striptease got her the role on Under Siege. Anyway, Erika Eleniak was only the first of a decades spanning tradition of Baywatch babes who got photographed by Playboy like Vanessa Angel, Krista Allen, playmate / Penthouse pet / pornstar Teri Weigel, Jenny Mc Carthy, Jasmine Bleeth, Donna D´Erico, Kelly Monaco, Brande Roderick, Nicole Eggert , Mitzi Capture and Gina Lee Nolin among others. Most of them have been in Playboy and other men´s magazines.

Back to Erika Eleniak, she appeared in a few movies like BEVERLY HILL BILLIES, CHASERS and BORDELLO OF BLOOD ( which got censored beyond recognition in Germany ) but she never achieved the level of success Pamela Anderson did. Not even Traci Bingham achieved it and she´s build like a porn star - in fact none of the other cast members of Baywatch did.

Carmen Electra is the only one who was anywhere near the success level of Pam and she also was in Playboy numerous times. A coincidence ? 

Coming back to Erika Eleniak she had some pretty hot scenes in CHASERS.

But my favorite movie with her is UNDER SIEGE. Which by the way is called ALARMSTUFE ROT ( Condition Red ) in Germany. That´s what you get when you use german words that make no sense in german - they have to come up with a different name. And that was one of the reasons why it was so difficult for me to find stuff about her until I figured out the original title.

Under Siege is one of the better Steven Seagal movies which means that his acting is not as bad as in other movies and it also has big stars like Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Busey and Nick Mancuso. The plot is simple but even though he only beats up smaller guys ( Did you notice that in most movies Steven Seagal only fights people who are smaller than him ? It makes it hard to take him serious. ) it´s a pretty decent action movie.

But the reason why I really like the film is of course Erika Eleniak and her sexy striptease after she comes out of a cake. She really shows some talent there which makes the fact that she never continued in that direction just more tragic. Ahh, the career she could have had stripping.

You can say what you want about Steven Seagal but he sure does have an eye for talent because it has been said that he included Erika Eleniak.

And if that rumor is true he has earned my eternal gratitude for giving the entire world one of the best striptease ever. And her manager who persuaded to take this part and use her stripper skills to the benefit of mankind. I bet he got something out of the deal as well. I know that if it had been me there would have been a few private sessions of rehearsing.

Of course the fabulous striptease is not the only scene where Erika struts her stuff because not only does she have wonderful breasts - she also has a tight derriere. There is also the scene in which she arrives on the ship where she steps out of the helicopter and has something on her shoe.

Erika leans forward to get it off,showing some good cleavage while all the horny sailors stand around drooling, hoping to get an eyeful. I guess they didn´t have to give the male actors much directions on this one.

She than walks past the viewer and the camera zooms in on her incredibly sculpted round and firm butt checks moving and shaking. Holy makarel !!!

Wow ! That has got to be one of the best butts in movies of all times together with sexbomb Kelly Overton working her butt crack in TEKKEN

and - of course - the spectacular Halle Berry in THE LAST BOY SCOUT .

And here´s Erika with her sexy striptease thanks to Steven Seagal who had the balls to include her in the script. I hope he at least got some.

Even if not I bet the strip was one of the scenes they had to do the most takes of. Steven probably had to relieve himself afterwards - if he didn´t get honey Erika to join him. In any case, it is Steven Seagal´s best movie and the one most liked by movie goers so in the end it was for the best.

Today´s post has been all about a tv cult siren and playmate that I wanted to do a post about for a very long time so I thought it´s only fair that the first video is also about a telenovela icon and playmate : Aylin Mujica.

I don´t have time to go into all the details here but the 40 year old starred in MARINA ( a telenovela that helped me a great deal ) and another with possibly the best title ever SIN TETAS NO HAY PARADISO ( without tits there is no paradise ). Since last year´s Erika Eleniak post I eve managed to do one about Aylin Mujica on MARINA . Now you may think that I´m crazy writing about 40 year old tv stars but 40 is the new 24 and Aylin did a photoshoot for the mexican Playboy where she showed : she still got it.

I already posted the video from her Playboy shoot twice so here´s a new one from dance show BAILA SI PUEDES where she is one of the judges.



Since this post was about stripteases our second clip is from BAILANDO PARA UN SUENO ( Dancing for a Dream ) which is the version of Dancing with the Stars from Argentina. Only the female contestants have bigger breasts, wear less clothing and instead of dancing they are stripping.

A totally different show is TU CARA ME SUENA from spanish television which could be roughly translated as YOUR FACE LOOKS FAMILIAR although the spanish term " me suena " means something like making sounds or music if you take it literally. So it has kind of a double meaning since people - mostly celebrities - dress up and perform as famous singers.

Because it´s a spanish tv program and not a german one it´s an original idea and most of the performances are quite good. There is one who does an Adele performance almost better than the real thing but Today´s clip is Anna Simon with Kylie Minogue´s I CAN`T GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD.



Anna Simon is another tv cult icon I wanted to do a post about for a long time but as always I haven´t gotten around to - not yet. As with Aylin Mujica I can´t explain everything about her but she´s a tv institution in Spain. I tried to find a particular clip on YouTube but since I could not find it here´s an animated GIF from one of her best shows. Ay oma, que rico !

But don´t fear here is another clip from the cult show TONTERIAS LAS JUSTAS where Anna´s boobs almost spilled out of her tight pink corsage.



A stereotype many latin women have to deal with is that most foreigners think all latinas have black hair. Just ask Sofia Vergara. Anna is a natural blonde but in one episode of OTRA MOVIDA - another comedy / news / gossip show - she wore a black wig and she looked so stunning that her male co hosts kept hitting on her for the length of the entire episode.



At the moment Anna is one of the hosts of ZAPEANDO together with Cristina Pedroche and Ana Morgade which is the trifecta of hot tv babes.



Or at least one of the trifectas since there are so many hot sexbombs on spanish tv. I really have to do a post about this one day. Anyway, I only find short clips on the internet but this one is almost 15 minutes long.



If you ask me how best to describe Ana Morgade then I would say she´s like the spanish version of Tina Fey only with a DD breast size - at least.
