My regular oyeescuchas are probably already tired of hearing that posts most often than not lead to other posts. So - as it couldn't be any other way - while I didn't have any art by pin up icon Bill Ward as I wrote my Gil Elvgren post now I have so many that it was hard to pick just 23.
Now usually my modus operandi is to start with the ones that have the best quality - which generally are the ones from HERITAGE AUCTIONS ( another shoutout to the guys and girls from that website for always providing such great pieces although they do try to make things more difficult for me and I really would put more of the art they sell on the blog if OneDrive and the internet gods were not against it ) - and the ones that I personally find most appealing, funny or just well made.
And yes, that selection is totally random and highly subjective but that way I can guarantee that I always post the best of the best art pieces available to me at that particular point in time and it also helps keep me interested to continue writing this blog which is beneficiary to readers.
With this post I strayed from the trodden path since I found a lot of pin ups - mostly on the RED N WHITE AND RED ALL OVER website's post on Bill Ward - that had the captions. Which are either not included in the scans from HERITAGE AUCTIONS or if they are they are difficult to read.
So since I feel these illustrations work much better if you actually know the punchline I have included a rather high number of those even if they are not of the best quality. Don't get me wrong, their quality is still good - we haven't lowered the standards for that - but not as good as others.
But that's enough of an introduction since we have already done three Bill Ward posts and you are probably already anxious to take another trip in the way back machine to a time when society let men be men, women looked like real women are supposed to look like, knew their role in life ( to be quiet, look good and most importantly be a lady on the street but an insatiable nymphomanic sex freak in bed ) and acted accordingly.
