Since I didn't get to include that much original artwork in Yesterday's spotlight on Tom Grummett's tenure on the SUPERBOY title with writer Karl Kesel I am doing a second part Today where I am throwing in almost all of the original art I found while doing the research for these posts.
Now one thing I didn't get to mention in our previous SUPERBOY post is that ever since I got the new laptop I am not sure if the art I post on the blog is of sufficient quality. With that I mean that I have no proper way to judge if the resolution on the art pieces in question is high enough.
You see with the old laptop I had it set to my preferences and after years of trial and error I had enough experience to say if a picture is good or if it looks blurry or if the resolution was too low so that you get pixelation.
With the new laptop I have no idea. It looks good so I am assuming it is okay but I have no real way of telling because even if I tell it to show it to me at 100 percent it is still smaller than it used to be so I am flying blind here. With the original art from HERITAGE AUCTIONS I know to which size I have to reduce it so that it's small enough to post but still big enough to appreciate the artwork. Or in most of the cases at least.
The rest is just guesswork. I mean, of course I can look at it AFTER I have posted it because that still works like it used to do. But I can't do that with every piece of artwork. Because preparing and writing these posts already takes forever - as 30 still unfinished posts more than prove - so that would slow things down even more here. Also what do I do if I post something and after looking at it on the blog I find out that the quality is a bit below bar ? Do I delete this picture ? And the next ? And the next ?
And what if there are no pictures left that are of a good enough quality ? Do I delete the entire post ? So for the moment I have to make do with what I have and hope for the best. With a bit of luck everything works out okay and there won't be too many errors and snafus along the way.
With that said still enjoy the pictures in this post. Speaking of which since we jumped ahead ( no pun intended ) to redhead blow up sex doll Knockout's first appearance we skipped over the first meeting between Superboy and Supergirl which were reunited again for the first time.
The interesting part here was that this was a meeting we have already seen in the Silver Age ( although we didn't see it because back then Kal - El was already Superman when Supergirl arrived on the scene ) and on the other hand it was something brand new because this was Matrix who made herself look like a female version of Superman and Superboy who was a clone made up of Superman's genetic material Lex Luthor stole from Superman's corpse ( plus half of the genetic material to make the clone was Lex Luthor's DNA although we didn't know that at the time ).
That's one of things I always loved about this era of Superman's history : whenever they brought stuff back from the Silver or Bronze Age they put a new unique spin on it so that even if you knew what was coming most often than not it was implemented in a surprising way. And that's what people want in their comicbooks. As much as we can appreciate it when things are as they ought to be we love surprises. The pleasant surprises.
Not the unpleasant ones that are rampant in Today's comicbooks where it is mostly a surprise in which way the writer has inserted himself into the story again or which one of the long established characters comes out as trans or gay or anything else on the current alphabet soup the cancel pigs are promoting Today. By the way, I will stop using the term SJW because it makes those people appear more grandiose than they are.
Especially since they are not fierce warriors nor are they very social or interested in any kind of justice. The term cancel pigs on the other hand is a pretty accurate description so from now on I will be using that and I hope it catches on. Anyway, that's enough behind the scenes commentary on the current state of the comic industry so let's enjoy Tom Grummett's great artwork on SUPERBOY back when the main goal was to entertain.

One of the big crossovers the Matrix version of Supergirl was involved in was Panic In The Sky which was one of the big superhero gatherings of the post Crisis On Infinite Earths era that was hatched to bring the superhero community more together and to establish Superman as the leader and main muscle of a revamped version of the Justice League .
When John Byrne re - invented Superman for a new generation the main goal was to not only do away with the old continuity and leave Superman as the sole survivor of the doomed planet Krypton but also cut his ties to teams like The Legion Of Super Heroes ( as I explained at length in this post the situation would not only generate problems for the Legion but also for Supergirl who was completely eliminated from the Superman canon and had to be brought back through the backdoor of creating a brand new character - the Matrix Supergirl - for that purpose ) but also the Justice League of America since they didn't want to have big guns like Wonder Woman tied down with the burdens of team memberships.
Of course many years down the line DC Comics changed their mind and wanted to have all the iconic Justice League members back on the team again and so the crossover event Panic In The Sky was hatched in which Brainiac got a hold of warworld and took it to earth to destroy Superman once and for all - or at least burn his new adopted home planet to ashes.
To prevent that Superman assembled the hero community and asked the Terminator a.k.a. Deathstroke to be one of his generals since Slade had a military background and was a master tactician - which he mostly used to try to kill the Teen Titans. Wait a minute here, you might say. Isn't Deathstroke one of the main antagonists of THE NEW TEEN TITANS ? How could Superman of all people ask a super villain to lead earths troops ?
Well, as I have already mentioned in the bonus section of my latest post on Marv Wolfman and George Perez NEW TEEN TITANS ever since his first appearance in the second issue Deathstroke has been a fan - favourite who got his own series after a backdoor pilot in the NEW TEEN TITANS .
Antiheroes were a big thing in the 90s and Deathstroke was coming hot off the heels of the TITANS HUNT in which somebody was systematically hunting down - for whatever evil purposes - all current or former Titans until only Dick Grayson was left who had to ask Slade Wilson for help.
There were some new characters who joined during this like Pantha or Phantasm ( was he really a new hero or just somebody wearing a new disguise ? ) and it was one of my favourite sagas in the Titans catalogue.
I am still waiting for DC Comics to reprint this but I don't know if I will continue buying the NEW TEEN TITANS omnibus since my resources are severely limited right now and volume five didn't excite me that much.
Don't get me wrong, Eduardo Baretto is a great artist and I haven't read any of theses issues so it's not like I am just re - reading old stuff. But it wasn't as big a thrill as the previous volumes and now that I have to be selective about which comics I buy there will be some I have to skip.
Like volume six which has the first 21 issues of TEEN TITANS SPOTLIGHT in which I am not that interested. Granted, at least DC is reprinting all the material associated with THE NEW TEEN TITANS for the completists but personally I will hold of with buying any new THE NEW TEEN TITANS omnibus until we reach the TITANS HUNT / WILDBEAST HUNT storyline.
And I'm stressing " new " TEEN TITANS omnibus because I got myself the second reprint of volume one just a few days ago. I had a few bucks left in my account from getting the Artist's Edition of UNCANNY X - MEN BY JOHN BYRNE ( now the only one I am missing is the FANTASTIC FOUR BY JOHN BYRNE volume ) and was looking to invest that in a new omnibus.
But since both - the ALPHA FLIGHT BY JOHN BYRNE and the MUTANT MASSACRE omnibus - are very pricey now ( I don't get the ridiculous prices some of these reprint collections go nowadays as it seems that the new generation that comes into the hobby of collecting comicbooks has no clue that buying a reprint is not the same as buying the original comicbook. Which leads to artificially inflated prices all around based on the possibility of certain characters appearing in movies or tv shows. I mean even with the original issues I saw a video recently where the first issue of NEW MUTANTS was priced at 100 bucks at a convention and that is not even the first appearance of these characters. Because as any comicbook fan worth his salt know their first appearance was in the NEW MUTANTS graphic novel . ) I opted for the first volume of THE NEW TEEN TITANS omnibus instead which was at a more reasonable price tag.
Which fluctuates quite a lot these days. And I'm not one to tell other people what to buy but I always post it on the blog when you can get some of these books with a discount because the price is sometimes only half of what you would have paid the day before or two days before.
Coming back to Deathstroke, he had a big part of the TITANS HUNT and turned into more of an antihero and sometimes ally of the Titans and as he was becoming more popular with the readers DC Comics decided to give him a big push by being involved in Panic In The Sky even if it was Superman who was the de facto leader of the superhero attack squad.
But DC was putting a lot of characters that they wanted to promote at the forefront like Agent Liberty, a Dan Juergens creation who was too patriotic for the mainstream fan and ultimately never went anywhere.

markie post
I still haven´t truly processed Markie Post´s passing - and I promise to do a proper tribute post when I have the time. In previous post I skipped most of the obligatory Markie Post info dump but Today I am going with the longer version for all of my newer followers who sadly have not had the chance to read my older entries for incredible cult siren Markie Post.
That said, since I already posted the super long version in my recent post about the FANTASTIC FOUR parody QUANTUM QUARTET which features the famous dysfunctional Bundy family from MARRIED WITH CHILDREN I decided to cut it down a little bit. As usual this is a combination of the new and the old which means I have included the Best Of The Best parts but also newer material according to the old proverb " Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. " so that even if you have read the previous version there is something new here for you.
Longtime readers know that while Markie Post was practically in everything that was on tv in the 70s and 80s she became one of my ultimate sex phantasies on the show The Fall Guy which every male that was alive in the 80s remembers - and we will get to the reason why.
Like most growing teenagers I watched that show religiously but the biggest part of its appeal for me were sexbombs like Heather Thomas and Markie Post who didn´t appear as often in a bikini as I wanted to.
Well, Heather Thomas did since that was her main purpose on the show but Markie Post´s appearances in bikinis on The Fall Guy were very few.
THERE`S SOMETHING ABOUT HEATHER THOMAS - AND HER BLUE BIKINI
But The Fall Guy didn´t just have 80s Power Girl Markie Post they also put blonde bombshell Heather Thomas in the show from the beginning.
She played stunt body double ( and what a body it was ) Jody and her job was to keep male viewers hooked by providing eye candy. She was in all episodes except for an episode in the first season. Yes, fan service is not as new as some people might want you to think and Heather Thomas mainly got the part because of her absolutely amazing bikini body. OMG !
It took a few episodes before she could strut her stuff but once the tv guys got a taste of Heather it happened more often and the famous blue bikini scene was quickly added to the new intro of the second season.
For generations of adolescent young boys the only highlight of the week was the short moment when Heather appeared in her famous blue bikini.
I AM SUFFERING FROM ( MARKIE ) POST TRAUMATIC SEX SYNDROME !
Markie Post played bail bonds contractor Terri Michaels ( who replaced previous bail bonds contractor Samantha Jack played by Jo Ann Pflug ) beginning with Season 2 and at the beginning she played a minor role .
But Markie Post knew that she was destined to super stardom, so when the opportunity arose that one of the producers of the show who was a bit smitten with Markie appeared on the set she managed to set up a few meetings - just to discuss her role of course. Even though he claimed to be happily married the business meetings turned into private meetings which were quickly relocated to a secret no - tell motel where Markie slipped very potent illegal performance enhancing drugs into his drink.
Once the drugs had taken effect and the guy got a huge erection three times as big as usual Markie gave his pulsating boner a double breasted deepthroat massage until his member was hard enough to cut diamonds.
When he started to howl like a werewolf Markie knew she had him in her pocket and used her relentless body and her natural ability to spread her legs better than a fillipino hooker to give the lucky guy who was hung like a horse a Kama Sutra crash course with more than the twenty three positions in a one night stand pumping his cock like a breeding stallion.
Nobody knows which dickdraining techniques she used to milk him dry but in a recently discovered diary Markie Post had stated " just thinking about what I had to do in that motel room makes me sick and thankfully no one knows we fucked because if word ever got out to which sexual practices I submitted him I could get arrested in over fourteen states ".
After Markie had successfully dicktamed the guy six ways to Sunday during these weekend long squirt marathons he was only too eager to convince the rest of the guys in charge what a complete waste it would be to have Markie on the cast without letting her " show off what her Mama gave her " like they say and the rest is 80s tv history. So Markie got more involved in the stories and basically stole the scene from Heather Thomas as soon as Markie donned a bikini ( mainly in season three ).
Now in the past I have never done a proper comicbook movie casting for Markie Post because for me she was just predestined to play Power Girl.
Mouthwatering manic men milking machine Markie Post would have been perfect for the role even if she would not have been in her sexual prime.
Because the comic was published in 1991 at which point Markie was 41 but she did Hearts Afire in 1992 and she still had a banging body there.
I definitely would have schtupped her if I would have gotten the chance.
Anyway, Markie really would have fit the role like the soft lips of a porn star wrap around a hard cock naturally as she had all the requirements : blonde hair, a tireless super bendable body that can entice the most perverse wet sex dream even in the minds of the most gay monks and not only could she spread her legs better than a fillipino hooker when the rent is due she also knew all the positions of such sexual instruction books like the Kama Sutra, the Ananga Ranga or the more modern Joy Of Sex by heart plus there were a few dozen she came up with on her own.
On top of that one of her favourite past times was helping prepubescent and extremely well hung underage boys go through puberty by giving them a double breasted deepthroat dick massage for a few hours before banging their brains out six ways to Sunday until they turn into drooling sex addicted serial rapists. And what would have made the movie even better is that Heather Thomas could have played horny Nymphini's less experienced but more sexually aggressive and sluttier little sister Sonya.
And speaking of Heather Thomas, thanks to her absolutely stunning 37C ( ! ) - 23 - 32 measurements and the exposure in The Fall Guy she became a famous pin up model with posters in every hormone driven boy's room.
Heather even managed to replace Raquel Welch on the number one spot.
80s Power Girl Markie Post is probably the best known cult siren on the blog because not only have I done many re - posts of her original post .
I also keep mentioning her in other posts and her original post is in a Top Ten Posts widget that appears on every post. Since I have done so many different versions it is not so tragic that I did not do a re - post the last years even though I did the last version of her cult siren entry in 2016 .

With all the pop culture trivia and behind the scenes stuff mentioned I found it surprising that there is not even a small minute about 38B - 24 - 33 brabuster Nicolette Scorsese ( not related to the director ) who plays the hot lingerie vendor - which is the erotic highlight of the entire movie after all - and who also appears later on in the movie in Clark Griswald's ( Chevy Chase's character ) wet sex daydream in a stunning red swimsuit.

Now I am switching things up and including the video about tv shows for my spanish speaking audience because as longtime followers of the blog know I like to group things thematically so the german video about tv shows is further down the line in the spanish section. Because it's about Power Rangers ( a tv series I am not too familiar with to be honest ) and I only had a spanish episode. But don't fear because we have a video about Relic Hunter which for me has always been a prime example that the movie and tv industry are adept at making vehicles for actresses who are very good in action movies OR comedic roles but don't have a clue what to do when they can do both. Especially when they are sexbombs.
Now unlike Power Rangers we have a bit of a history with Relic Hunter.
Or is that HERstory now ? Anyway, my faithful longtime blog followers might remember that I mentioned hawaiian 40D - 24 - 35 hottie Tia Carrere in my very first birthday post / cult siren entry for natural born stripper JaMILF Lee Curtis way back in 2011 because Tia Carrere played femme fatale Juno Skinner ( although the sexbomb who owes her exotic looks to her spanish, chinese and fillipini descent didn't show much skin herself ) in True Lies with Arnold Schwarzenegger that is best known - amongst other things - for Jamie Lee Curtis boner inducing striptease.
JaMILF Lee Curtis quickly became famous for her impressive set of lungs as one of Hollywood´s best scream queens in movies like Halloween.
She later became quite literal famous for her impressive set of lungs as her boobs busted out and she quickly got the nickname " freezeframe " because her hot scenes in movies like Trading Places or Perfect became the most paused on the vcr thanks to her 34C - 22 - 34 measurements.
Today she´s best known for her incredible hot striptease in True Lies, the best striptease in movie history - at least according to a poll from 2007.
Which is all the more impressive if you keep in mind that Jamie Lee Curtis was 36 at the time. So she did her best movie scene when her body was in remarkable shape - she exercised every day for this - and I cannot even begin to imagine how epic it would have been if she hadn´t kept on her underwear and gone full monty frontal nudity in the movie.
Because James Cameron had seen her in A Fish Called Wanda and wrote the role of Helen Trasker specifically to see her naked porn star body.
GET A GRIP ON JAMILF LEE´S COCONUTS / THE TAMER OF PANAMA !
JaMILF Lee Curtis has always spurred the sexual imagination of her on screen partners like with old horn dog Pierce Brosnan who got more than a good handful of her massive milkshakes when he squeezed her perfect puppies in The Tailor of Panama. The scene was not in the original script but Pierce just couldn´t let an opportunity to fondle Jamie´s juicy juggs pass and so he manhandled her titanic 38C twin torpedoes in every take.
After two days of shooting the scene Jamie´s mouthwatering XXL melons were so sensitive from Pierce´s constant massage that she climaxed with the slightest touch. So she agreed to let Pierce use her as his personal blow up sex doll for the remainder of the shooting if he stopped botching the takes and then the director decided to leave the scene in the movie.
Coming back to Tia Carrere and Relic Hunter, while the initial idea of the show - making an Indiana Jones style tv series but having the lead character who is an archaeologist be a hot sexbomb like Tia Carrere - was nothing short of brilliant the execution left much to be desired.
While Tia Carrere did her best, wearing some sexy and skimpy outfits and showing a lot of skin those scenes did not work as well as planned.
And it's not Tia Carrere's fault because in other roles - like her part in High School High which is the only reason to watch that movie - she is just oozing with sex appeal which is practically dripping off the screen.
Take the first episode of Relic Hunter for example, the first scene in which we see the lead character of Sidney Fox she is performing a tribal dance for her students wearing a pretty exciting outfit. But any sexual tension that might come up is quickly dashed as she throws a spear at the new guy which is her new assistant who will become her sidekick in the following adventures. A scene that could have been very erotic is turned into a cheap joke and the audience is as shocked as poor Nigel.
As a comparison let's take a scene from Baywatch - Hawaiian Wedding where natural born 36E ( !!! ) - 23 - 34 go go dancer Carmen Electra is performing a sexy dance in a coconut bra - this one is also a tribal dance - which serves as Lanie McKenzie's introduction to one of the characters who will have a romantic connection with her and the viewers unfamiliar with Baywatch as well as a re - introduction for veteran Baywatch fans.
In this case the scene is not interrupted or turned into a cheap joke, the sexual tension is off the charts and Carmen Electra's erotic dance alone is worth the price of admission . Over the decades Baywatch has gotten a lot of flack and been scorned for going the easy way of just providing cheap fan service with dozens of incredible bikini sexbombs but as this example - and the failing of other shows that tried to copy their formula like Acapulco H.E.A.T. or Thunder In Paradise - shows it's not that easy.
Coming back to Relic Hunter, while they had a big plus with an exotic actress who even had appeared naked in the pages of PLAYBOY magazine the show flopped and I guess the final nail in the coffin was that at the end of the day the scripts were not that good. Well, that and Sidney's assistant / girlie man Nigel, the americans always have an inferiority complex when it comes to people from Britain and the writers are no exception. So they didn´t have the cojones to make an english man cool ( one of the reasons why Mike Meyers did the Austin Powers movies ).
Last but not least there is also a comicbook connection I have to mention since Tia Carrere appeared in the episode On A Dead Man´s Chest from the Tales From The Crypt tv show ( episode 3 of season 4 ) based on the story of the same title by Johnny Craig from Haunt Of Fear issue twelve.
