That is one of the things that always baffles me and at first I thought this were only people who have heard about this series and not read it. But even self confessed fans who say that this is one of their favorite series and their favorite incarnation of the Justice League of America seem to totally blank on the fact that there were some grisly stories that exacted a high death toll. I mean, when Despero crash landed on the Justice League he not only killed Mister Miracle he also wiped out Gypsy´s parents. There was nothing funny about that and it shook the remaining members to its core. Even somebody like Guy Gardner had a hard time processing that.
While this was one of my favorite periods of the Justice League I don´t think I have written an extensive post about it yet - as longtime readers know I focus more on Bart Sear´s Justice League Europe since they had Power Girl on the team - so the only post I wrote specifically for Kevin Maguire is a special FLASH FRIDAY with the female Flash from Just Imagine Stan Lee Creating the DC Universe. Readers that already were around last year ( to whom all of this might seem very familiar but you try writing a blog for so long and not repeat yourself ) might remember that back then I pimped the hell out of the omnibus and not only because you could still get it at amazon Germany for 23 bucks including handling and shipping which is a steal for a 75 dollar hardcover. Now I am not saying it is an indispensable work in the history of comics but you have a veritable list of comicdoms Who´s Who of artists working on this and in fact for some of them who are not longer with us it was their last work. The overall story by Stan Lee is very entertaining and at 23 bucks you could´t go wrong.
Well, Stan Lee sadly is no longer with us which may be one of the factors why you pay 81 EUROS at amazon right now even if you can get a copy at your local comic book store for 71 EUROS. Coming back to Kevin Maguire there will be a post about his tenure on the Justice League. I don´t know yet if it will be another of my popular Deja Vue posts about his famous and often copied cover for the first issue of Justice League of America ( we also did our version of it for the first - and at the moment only - cover of Power Freaks ) or some complete issues of Justice League Classified which I came across a while ago while cleaning up the laptop. What I DO know is that someway, somehow Power Girl is going to be featured prominently !
For me Bart Sear´s version is still the definite version of Power Girl and when DC started back - paddling with REBIRTH and restoring many things I was curious what that meant for Power Girl. I had hoped that there might be a return to her former glory in store for her but so far the SJWs have stuck the real Power Girl in limbo and replaced her with a political correct, flat chested black version. I guess Kara is too much woman to for them.
Now while I have not written anything new about the post REBIRTH Power Girl it is not true that I have not written about DC´s Maid of the Massive Mammaries at all. I recently started a new series about one of my favorite artists from my earliest comic reading days and while the first post was all about Joe Staton´s contribution to the GREEN LANTERN ( or DIE GRÜNE LEUCHTE how he was called in Germany and at that time I was reading mostly german comics ) my next ones were all about his version of Power Girl - which I also had to split into two separate posts, the intro and the main post - since Joe Staton not only drew all of the adventures of Power Girl or the Justice Society of America but basically everything on Earth 2.
Speaking about the best Power Girl of all times in Justice League Europe, in 2016 I finally managed to do another post about Darick Robertson in which I mentioned the BREAKDOWNS storyline that introduced Power Girl´s famous coconut bra costume. And Ijust want to say that I still have not given up on a Yaya Han Power Girl coconut bra cosplay ( with the tiniest coconut shells you can find although compared to her huge 40D oppai all coconut shells probably look small no matter how big they are ) as she has already shown that she does a terrific Power Girl cosplay and she certainly has no problem filling out the magical cleavage window.
So far I had written six posts on Yaya - two of them are pretty safe but the other four are absolutely not safe for work - and I keep mentioning her on various JLA casting posts and any other posts involving asian sexbombs like Kiana Tom, Ava Cadell, Akira Lane, Miko Lee, Gail Kim or Minka and I swear the completely NSFW BIG YAYA HAN POST is still in the pipeline. So instead here is one about the missing episodes that still are popping up even now. Just a few months ago I finally watched ENEMY OF THE WORLD in which Patrick Troughton kills it as he play a double role of the Doctor and his Doppelgänger the mexican would be world dictator Salamander.
This story has been missing for the longest time but I am not sure if it just resurfaced around 2019 or if the episodes were found earlier. I may have seen them earlier or just forgot about it or I may have seen a restored version. Fun fact : in the story Doctor Who and his companions - Victoria and the always reliable Jamie McCrimmon - travel to the far year of 2018.

Since most of this post was about the Justice League and I already posted the video from Comic Tropes about Keith Giffen and J. M. DeMatteis run on the team I want to seize the opportunity to pimp JUSTICE LEAGUE VS THE FATAL FIVE. With the exception of the LEGO FLASH movie this is the best Justice League movie currently out there - animated or otherwise.

From time to time I like to include videos about life in Germany - just so you know that I am not writing these posts in a vacuum - and since the preview picture of the video above is from HELLBOY which heavily draws on folk lore and fairy tales this video is about the famous fairy tale route.
It is something mostly done by tourists but aren´t we all tourists outside of our hometown ? I first read of this in the GRIMM comicbook series from Zwerchfell Verlag and it follows the stories of the Brother´s Grimm ( which not only were the inspiration for the GRIMM series but most Walt Disney movies ) through the actual towns that are mentioned in the fairy tales.
You probably expected me to close out the post with a video from Fairy Tale Theater but we already have the tv part covered with Doctor Who and I only have a few left anyway.
