By George ! Crisis on Infinite Earths - part 1

Better late than never but it seems like finishing up this year´s post in honor of Mark Texeira´s birthday took forever. Anyway, I had hoped to have a few more posts of this in the can before the Christmas holidays come around so it´s high time we get this new series off the ground.

This is a topic I held off on for a long time but I think I have picked the right time to do this feature, which is a rarity for this blog. As longtime followers know I am always late to the party and never one who gets in on a trend at the ground level. Normally I write about things long after they have happened or are even relevant so this is a novum for me. Of course I have to give credit where credit is due and the resurgence of interest in the mother of crossovers is due to the CW shows adapting this storyline for the tv audience. I am not going to say too much about those episodes because some people might not have seen it yet and I am also trying to avoid any spoilers in the videos I include in the pop culture trivia section.

Aside from sparking interest with the media, comic afficionados and comicbook newbies the CW network has also provided a basic knowledge about the story so I won´t be talking about it too much in these posts.

BUT BEFORE WE START : A LITTLE BIT OF CRISIS MANAGEMENT

As always when I start a new feature on the blog I first checked to see what I have already written about it and in this case I want to include two links to older posts. The first one is from 2015 and covers the german publishing history of CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS so I can skip that part.

The second one - from last year - has not as much information about the story but it includes links to the fine people at SCANS DAILY for all issues of the maxi series except for issues 7 and 8 for obvious reasons. Aside from giving kudos for providing most of the color pages for the posts it gives those readers who want to skip ahead and check out the following issues a chance to do so. And I am saying the following issues because in this post we will only get to the end of the first issue. That´s right, one reason why this is the right time to start this new feature is that over the years where I kept postponing it I have accumulated a pile of original art.

Now the way I usually go about this is that I put the best art in the first post and work my way down from there. But with so many original art pages that I have found and the importance of the story it´s best to go in chronological order since I have to divide it into several posts. Another departure from my usual modus operandi is that I am not counting a page of original art and the corresponding page of colored art as one page.

Which leaves me to interpret the only 23 pictures for the main part of the post rule a bit more flexible. So on one side I hope this helps me to make shorter posts ( which is always a problem for me ) while on the other side it allows me to include some bonus material now and then.

Last but not least while most of the color pages in this series come from SCANS DAILY the rest are from the ABSOLUTE EDITION because I needed some pages that were not included in the posts from SCANS DAILY. I´m not sure if I knew that an ABSOLUTE EDITION of CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS exists but if I did it must have slipped my mind. That´s the only reason I can think of why I haven´t bought it yet. Well, that and the price tag.

In any case, I stuck to the pages from SCANS DAILY as much as possible because I don´t know if it´s just me but I find the coloring in the ABSOLUTE EDITION to be a little dark. And I much prefer the brighter pages from SCANS DAILY because as usual I also want to showcase George Perez´ art. What I am not showcasing in this post is Jerry Ordway´s inking because - as I have already mentioned in the MARK TEXIERA tribute post I just finished - he comes in later. For issue 1 DC stalwart Dick Giordano is doing the inks and after this long introduction let´s start with the story.

Today´s post is number 1,097 and counting so maybe I can crack the 1,100 post mark this year. As we have had more posts lately than usual I only have to do the celebrity birthdays for Today which start with Wendy Hamilton who celebrates her 52nd birthday. Which means that I can hit on her without coming off as creepy since we are the same age. Or at least not creepy because of any age differences. She might still find me creepy for other reasons. Wendy Hamilton's statuesque five foot ten inch porn star frame was featured in the December 1991 issue of Playboy magazine.

She's since followed in the footsteps of her predecessor Pamela Anderson by acting in straight to video sextaculars that feature, among many other things, her incredibly long legs ! Being a former playmate, Wendy has been nude in just about every film she has been in. Guess she's typecast as hot and naked, which is a good thing. A highlight is Ski School 2 but you have probably guessed that my favorite movie with Wendy Hamilton is The Dallas Connection a.k.a. Deadworks by cineastic mastermind Andy Sidaris .

And I just wrote a spin - off post with all the usual links to Janet Jones Gretzky and real live Power Girl Leslie Easterbrook who had the most famous scene in Police Academy 4 - Citizens on Patrol in which she emerges from a pool in a wet t - shirt . And while the obligatory Andy Sidaris actresses / playmates / sexbombs like Roberta Vasquez , Ava Cadell , brunette Cynthia Brimhall, Dona Speir , Julie Strain , Shae Marks , Julie K. Smith and Samantha Phillips are mentioned the main part is about blonde brabuster Monique Sluyter and the obligatory plethora of Tutti Frutti girls .

One of the main attractions of the game show Tutti Frutti was of course brabuster Monique Sluyter who not only had no problem taking off her clothes on tv she also often disrobed for various gentleman magazines.

Regular readers of this blog already know that I cast her as Fire a.k.a. Beatriz da Costa in the Andy Sidaris Special of my popular Casting the Justice League of America movie series and I also kept mentioning her in all kind of post like  the annual re - posts about italian mega soccer MILF Simona Ventura until I decided to give Monique and the Tutti Frutti girls their own post which I re - posted in 2016 in a new and better version.

But the blow up sex doll from the Netherlands was not only in PLAYBOY multiple times she also was a big factor in my obsession on blondes with giant breast like Power Girl with her impersonation of Marilyn Monroe .

Longtime readers may be already tired of this but it seems that nowadays I can´t write a new post without mentioning hot sexbomb Becky Mullen .

Besides appearing as Sally, the farmer´s daughter on the first season of Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling and various guest appearances on every major tv show ( of which her most memorable is an episode of MARRIED WITH CHILDREN opposite Pamela Anderson ) and thanks to her 39E ( ! ) - 24 - 36 measurements Becky also was in various erotic midnight movies including Sinful Intrigue with ultimate hasian Sexbombe Chona Jason .

I have to include Chona Jason in this post because I don´t get to feature her that often but I have to keep it short because we have more cult sirens coming up. Anyway, Chona likes motorcycles, fast cars and owns a Porsche Carrera. She is a former PLAYBOY model, her measurements are 34C - 24 - 34 but before you think this exotic beauty from Hawaii is only a master of sex techniques she also has a black belt in tae kwon do. And you can read more about her in this year´s Tylene Buck cult siren re - post .

Now usually I just include a short part with them in the posts but this time I did a somewhat longer version so I could include all the new download links I found while writing this post. I just recently included a whole slew of new ones but those are just for compilation and mixes while these new ones are not only for entire episodes - which are always ultra rare - but for german episodes which are even rarer . Some of them even include my favorite Tutti Frutti girl ( whom you can see just below ).

These last few months I kept saying that I don´t have the time to go through the daily list of birthdays and have to rely on what I posted in previous years. So why did I do exactly that Today ? Was it because I only had a few of my usual categories covered ? Was it some sinister force at work here that is working to some dark and foreboding goal ? I have no idea. The only thing I know is that we have a new candidate for December the 20th and there is a big comicbook relation because it is none other than director Jörg Buttgereit, the creator of Captain Berlin who turns 56.

For those who have heard of the comic and think it is a hoax I can assure you it really exists and there are already 9 issues available as well as a trade that collects the first four out of print issues. Now usually I prefer to include people in this section that I have met or at least have some sort of connection. And there is one although it is work related but not in the way you might think. Some people thought that Captain Berlin would make Power Freaks competition but in reality they pander to different audiences. Captain Berlin is very much a super hero spoof and satire that treats the persons and situation comically. In Power Freaks the satire is more subtle and more centered on the state of society while the persons act in an environment where the superhero thing is treated very serious.

Anyway, while I haven´t met Jörg Buttgereit I know a little bit about him from what I know about the origins of Captain Berlin and from doing the english translation of Weissblech Comics ( the company that publishes CAPTAIN BERLIN but also such german horror series like HAMMERHARTE HORRORSCHOCKER, ZOMBIE TERROR and their newest hit ZOMBIEMAN ) NEKROMANTIK 1. Which I think is the continuation of Jörg´s cult movies Nekromantik 1 and Nekromantik 2. As for the origin of Captain Berlin, he is the brainchild of Jörg Buttgereit whose taste goes more into the trashy independent movie making direction and towards horror and gore movies.

Captain Berlin first appeared in an 11 minute super 8 short called Captain Berlin - Saviour of the World in 1982 and the cast at least had Bela B. from famous german punk rock band Die Ärzte ( The Doctors, no relation to any timetravellers from the planet Gallifrey ). There was a sequel Captain Berlin versus Hyxar in 1984 and that was it for his movie career. But some ideas are just too good to let them go to waste so in 2006 Jörg Buttgereit wrote the audio drama Captain Berlin vs Dracula that was adapted as a a theater play under the title Captain Berlin vs Hitler in 2009. They made a DVD of the play which included a comic produced by Levin Kurio and since 2013 Captain Berlin has been one of the regulars from Weissblech Comics.

Longtime readers know that one of my pet pevees on this blog is celebrating all the brave actresses who turn insufferable dreck into bearable entertainment by taking their clothes off or at least show what their Mama gave them and who don´t get enough recognition for that .

Thus I want to give a shoutout to one of the biggest movie cult sirens of my youth : sexbomb Joyce Hyser who celebrates her 62nd anniversary.

And before you ask : you don´t know Joyce Hyser, you don´t remember the movie Just One Of The Guys for which she is best known but I bet you remember this scene where she shows her incredibly big ..... talents.

In the scene she tries to convince this guy that she is really a girl but nothing works until she pops her porn star boobs out. What was missing from the movie were the consequences of this revelation. They showed some of them. But in the real world it would have been like : The good news is you managed to convince him you´re a girl. The bad news is you managed to convince him you´re a girl. Because once that guy gets an eyeful of living blow up sex doll Joyce Hyser´s huge melons she would not leave his bedroom for the next three weeks while this horny pervert tries to dicktame her, banging her brains out until she is his obedient sex slave.

Back in the 80s your best bet to see some naked breasts were screwball comedies because you knew even if the script was totally worthless and the actors without any kind of talent you were going to get boobage .

Joyce Hyser may not be famous and may not have played in the best movies but every prebubescent boy growing up in the 80s saw this movie.

And to think she almost didn´t do it. Joyce had a no nudity clause in her contract and was against showing her wonder twins especially after a female friend told her : " Honey, WITH THOSE BREASTS if you GO TOPLESS in that scene, NO ONE you meet will EVER look you INTO YOUR EYES again ." Thankfully Joyce Hyser shot the scene showing her breasts and without showing them and in the end decided that the scene didn´t work if she didn´t go topless. This is what I call " poetry in motion ".

So the thanks of an entire generation of hormone driven boys is yours for logic winning over superstition. Or naked breasts winning over whatever.

Now Joyce Hyser´s bonerinducing twin torpedoes appear in a lot of lists about the best gratuitous nude scenes in movies and in fact one person even ranked it as the number one gratuitous nude scene in movies. And while I agree that Joyce Hycer´s massive milkshakes deserve the top spot in any countdown I have to call foul on his reasoning. The reason why it has the top spot on the list is that - according to this guy - it is completely gratuitous and absolutely absurd. He claims that it is totally unnecessary for Joyce Hyser to pop out her wonderful breasts and that it would be much easier to show the guy her drivers license or ID to convince him she is a girl. Yeaah, right. I am no expert on life in America and mostly get my knowledge about that from movies, tv shows, comics and the internet.

But even I know that those documentations can be faked. So I ask you : what would convince you if a person is a guy or a girl ? Some ID that can be easily faked by teenagers as we see so often in american sping break comedies or a pair of juicy juggs like Joyce Hyser presents ? Rest my case.

Now the reason why I included the animated GIF with the bikini clad love goddess above is that I wanted to feature her for a long time. But because I didn´t have enough good material I kept putting it off. Well, it doesn´t look like this situation will change anytime soon and I´m not getting any younger so I´m putting her on the blog. Corinne Alphen a.k.a. Corinne Wahl was born on September the 27th in 1954 ( which makes her 65 years old ) and with her 37D ( all natural ) - 23 - 36 measurements it shouldn´t surprise anybody that she wasn´t featured once or twice, no three times in PENTHOUSE. First as the Pet Of The Month in June 1978, then again as the Pet Of The Month in August 1981 and finally as Penthouse Pet Of The Year in 1982. She got her big break in the teen film Spring Break where even movie critic Roger Ebert praised her appearance ( see animated GIF below ) in his review and regretted hers was not the film´s main role.

Besides Spring Break Corinne Alphen appeared in such movies like Shakin´Up which also featured a then unknown Willem Dafoe, Screwball Hotel and Amazon Women On The Moon as an interactive busty video girl alongside Russ Meyer. Her tv credits include The A - Team in the episode called The Little Town With An Accent ( season 4 episode 22 ), The New Mike Hammer tv series in the episode called Dead Card Down ( season 2 episode 7 ) as well as the The Return Of Mickey Spillane´s Mike Hammer tv movie and last but not least and most importantly Night Court in the episode called Where There´s A Will, There´s A Tony : Part 2 ( season 8 episode 24 ). Night Court is of course a show that I have to mention constantly because it featured ultimate 80s tv sexsation Markie Post .

This is usually the part where I go into a tangent about Markie Post who is one of my tv crushes of all times thanks to her appearance on the 80s cult show The Fall Guy . Where she stole the scene from Heather Thomas and her absolutely stunning 37C ( ! ) - 23 - 32 measurements as bail bonds contractor Terri Michaels as soon as she donned a bikini ( mainly in season three ) since Markie Post´s 36C - 24 - 36 measurements were even more breathtaking and she had one of the best sets of legs on tv at that time.

But because I featured Markie Post prominently in this year´s Jim Steranko tribute I am including the short version for the newer readers.

80s Power Girl Markie Post is probably the best known cult siren on the blog because not only have I done many re - posts of her original post .

I also keep mentioning her in other posts and her original post is in the Top Ten Posts widget that appears on every post. Since I have done so many different versions it is not so tragic that I did not do a re - post last year even though I did the last version of her cult siren entry in 2016 .

Coming back to Corinne Alphen, she is also a professional tarot card reader. She studied at The Tarot School of New York, receiving two certifications in advanced tarot card reading. Corinne has integrated her modeling and acting experiences with tarot card readings on her website.

We are staying with cult sirens as Jenny Agutter turns 67 who appears in such cult movies as Amazon Women On The Moon, Darkman, An American Werewolf in London and most prominently Logan´s Run. By the way, sorry for the poor quality of the GIF but it was the best where Jenny´s costume is not covered by text. I also want to mention that there are a few GIFs from the movie where she is naked so don´t get your pitchforks out yet.

As longtime readers know I have done several posts on Logan´s Run, the first one in 2011 where I covered everything from the movie to the tv series and the many comic book adaptions. And speaking of comic book adaptions as a big fan of George Perez I posted all five issues of the series he did for Marvel as well as the final two by the criminally underrated Tom Sutton ( on whom I did a post in 2017 and last year ) to finish the series.

Which I thought would be the final post but since then I have found a lot of original art and since I don´t want to go back and put them into the old posts - which I then would have to overhaul completely - there will be a special black and white post about George Perez Logan´s Run somewhere in the future ( no pun intended ). I still hope that it will be reprinted but judging by the problems Marvel had with the movie company the first time around  I highly doubt it. And speaking about movies has there been any definite news about the remake they keep announcing for decades ?

And as usual for more celebrity birthdays from December the 20th check out my Mark Texeira tribute from 2018 and my Joe Sinnott / John Buscema double feature from 2017 . Here I thought I had to get all of my Christmas presents myself as usual ( longtime followers of the blog know that I have pretty much given up the idea of getting decent Christmas presents  ) but then I decided to check out Jenny Babas channel on a whim. I mean, we have seen Jenny in a swimsuit before but that´s taking it to a whole new level. I bet the director of the video called Jenny to his trailer for a special rehearsal after he sent the entire crew for a four hour lunch break.

Speaking of the crew, all the guys on the set were probably erect the whole time and you know their wives, fiancees, girlfriends, secretaries, female co - workers, big - titted bosses, Dad´s new pornstar girlfriends, best friend´s hot Moms, sister - in - laws, mother - in - laws, MILF aunts, kissing cousins, best friend´s busty sisters, stepsisters, stepdaughters or their daughters busty friends experienced multiple orgasms that night.

Bringing it back to comicbooks, I know that I said I was going to post the video about Crisis On Infinite Earths with the least amount of spoilers. But then I checked them all out and there is only one that is just about Crisis On Infinite Earths while the other videos also include some of the following - less successful - crossovers like Infinite Crisis etc. So for the first post - the big opener so to speak - we are staying to the original version while we will have the more Crisis - related stuff in our next posts.

In my last few posts I have included some videos for readers from Germany of my generation so we are keeping the nostalgia factor up with another great czech kids tv show from my misspent youth : Pan Tau. I know that the video description says Pan Tau - The Movie but it is rather a mash up of a few of the episodes from the show since there is no Pan Tau movie.

Since Pan Tau was a series that was often in reruns during the holidays ( sadly no more for whatever reason ) the more astute readers might have deducted that I am seguewaying into another Christmas related video.

And why not stay in Germany and learn about some of the Christmas traditions that people from other countries might find weird or charming ?

You know, no matter how many cartoon series I include in my posts there is always one classic one I forgot or one that didn´t even appear on my radar. And I´m not quite sure into which category this adaption of Mark Twain´s classic children´s book The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer falls into.

The year is nearing it´s end so I am trying to put as much of the best videos out before the new year rolls around. I am not sure if I have posted this before but in case I haven´t here is one of my favorite examples of german pop music : Freundeskreis ( Circle of Friends ) with Esperanto.

New to the blog ? Everything you need to know about TALES FROM THE KRYPTONIAN : top ten posts / more posts of interest / best of the best

The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.
