Vault of Horror Johnny Craig bonus round

It seems that if I want to finish up my last post I have to either get my laptop to work at 300 percent efficiency, increase the speed of the internet by at least 500 percent, wait a week or do another spin - off. Only one of these options is doable and also gives me the chance to post some of the original art I wanted to put in my Johnny Craig spotlight.

Since we already covered all the important facts about Johnny Craig in the first part we can get right to the good stuff and for this post I selected three of my favorite Johnny Craig stories. The first one is The Sewer from CRIME SUSPENSTORIES issue 5 and I don´t know if it is my obsession with sewers in comics ( I am not that big a fan of them in real life ) but it´s probably my favorite story by Johnny Craig. For me this story is perfect, the art, the pacing, the mood, the lighting, just about everything. The one downside is that the original artwork I found ( luckily somebody on COMICARTFANS had the complete story ) is very small and the color pages I found online aren´t of much better quality. Still I had to include it in this.

Today´s second story is Easel Kill Ya ! from THE VAULT OF HORROR issue 31 and I wanted to include it in my first Johnny Craig post this month but I had to take it out again. Which hurt because I found 3 pages of original art on Heritage Auctions. But maybe it was a blessing in disguise because not only do I get to feature it now I also found the corresponding color pages from Dark Horse´s EC CLASSICS reprint. Now I am of two minds when I do these BLACK AND WHITE posts when it comes to include the color pages.

On one side I prefer the original coloring because more often than not the new coloring is too overpowering and often obscures the artwork. Most times I liked the restrained hues that were used in the original comics to the new paintbrush version. HOWEVER sometimes the original color pages I find online from the original comics have a really low quality and you do not see much of the artwork either. In this case I prefer the new version.

As for Dark Horse´s reprints and the color I have the first volume of SHOCK SUSPENSTORIES - because I found it at half price at the Sammlerecke - and I have to say that while I would have preferred the original coloring I can´t argue with their version. For a comic company it makes sense to produce the best product for their clients and use new techniques of coloring that the artists surely would have used if it had been available. And for those who like the original version there are always the ARTIST`S EDITIONS.

Which cost an arm and a leg. Although I am hardly one to complain since I already own four of those pricey bitches. Anyway, here´s the story and send me a comment if you like the new coloring or prefer the old one.

Our third story is Whirlpool from THE VAULT OF HORROR issue 21 and I don´t have any original art for this one but it is also one of my favorite stories by Johnny Craig. I know that I´m going beyond the old Only 23 pieces of art per post rule but the alternative is to only include two complete stories and make the rest covers. And I didn´t want to do that.

Now for this I found both, original color art in good quality plus the version from Dark Horse´s EC CLASSICS and for a hot minute I thought about including both. But then I realized that I would either have to post first the original version and the the new version - which would make comparing both versions almost impossible - or post one page of the o.g. version followed by the same page from the new version - which would drive those visitors crazy of the blog who would actually try to read the story. In the end I decided to just post the original version because you already got a good example of the new color pages in the story above.

So that was the second part of this year´s Johnny Craig tribute and I hope I don´t have to make another one. And that I can cover the pop culture relevant celebrity birthdays from April the 22nd to the 25th of April here.

But before we come to the usual assortment of cult sirens, tv crushes and natural born strippers we have a comicbook related anniversary with Steve Englehart who turned 73 on April the 22nd. While he has written a run on Justice League Of America the first thing I - and many other comicbook devotees - think about when I hear his name is the four year run he did on Avengers during which he wrote such classic storylines like The Avengers Defenders War ( which was initially The Avengers Defenders Clash but war sells better ), The Celestial Madonna Saga and The Serpent Crown Affair.

Besides integrating Patsy Walker, the star of a teen romantic - comedy series from Marvel´s Timely Comics period into the Marvel superhero universe as Hellcat he also introduced the Valkyrie to the Defenders in issue 4, had a potent run on Doctor Strange with Frank Brunner and Gene Colan and co - created Shang - Chi, Master of Kung Fu with Jim Starlin.

One of his pet pevees was fixing continuity problems so he retconned Captain America´s history to the effect that the Captain America and Bucky characters who were active during the 1950s were different people.

Before that story it was a big mystery how Captain America and Bucky could be active in the 1950s if Captain America was frozen in a block of ice from 1945 to 1964 and Bucky had died in 1945. He also wrote the famous storyline in which Captain America was so profoundly disillusioned after finding out that the head of the secret society he had fought against was actually a high ranking politician ( in the comics it was hinted at that it was actually Richard Nixon ) that he gave up being Captain America and adopted the Nomad identity which was later claimed by Jack Monroe.

During his run on Captain America Steve Englehart teamed up with Sal Buscema and turned the book into one of Marvel Comics top sellers.

I think that I already mentioned somewhere that he was also one of the writers involved in the first unofficial inter - company crossover together with Gerry Conway and Len Wein. The story which takes place during the now famous Halloween parade in Rutland, Vermont unfolds within the pages of Amazing Adventures 16, Justice League of America 103 and Thor 207 featuring all the writers as well as Len Wein´s first wife Glynis Oliver.

Steve Englehart really deserves a post of his own and I am not going to list all of the other comics he wrote during his long and illustrious career but I would be remiss if I didn´t at least mention his groundbreaking run on Detective Comics with Walter Simonson and Marshall Rogers that not only recreated Batman as a pulp - oriented, dark character, introduced love interest Silver St. Cloud which for the first time gave Bruce Wayne a sex life and gave us what most people still consider to be the definite version of the Joker ( which was best exemplified in the story The Laughing Fish ). For many fans it is still the definite version of Batman and I can´t argue.

Longtime readers know that one of my pet pevees on this blog is celebrating all the brave actresses who turn insufferable dreck into bearable entertainment by taking their clothes off or at least show what their Mama gave them and who don´t get enough recognition for that .

So I had no other choice than to include Tonie Perensky who celebrated her 61st birthday on April the 23rd here since her boner - riffic teacher striptease from Varsity Blues is not only the highlight of the whole movie and a personal favorite but constantly on the Best Movie Striptease list.

Next we have a better known candidate with Lee Majors who turned 81.

While he´s not as prolific as he used to be and only does the occassional guest appearance on shows like Human Target he is still popular because of his roles as Steve Austin on The Six Million Dollar Man and Colt Seavers on The Fall Guy. Some people may even remember him from Raven. As my followers know I watched The Fall Guy religiously so I must mention him.

Longtime readers know that while Markie Post was practically in everything that was on tv in the 70s and 80s she became one of my ultimate sex phantasies on the show The Fall Guy which every male that was alive in the 80s remembers - and we will get to the reason why.

THERE`S SOMETHING ABOUT HEATHER THOMAS - AND HER BLUE BIKINI

But The Fall Guy didn´t just have 80s Power Girl Markie Post. they also put blonde bombshell Heather Thomas in the show right from the beginning.

She played stunt body double ( and what a body it was ) Jody and her job was to keep the male viewers hooked by providing eye candy. She was in all episodes except for an episode in the first season. Yes, fan service is not as new as some people might want you to think and Heather Thomas mainly got the part because of her absolutely amazing bikini figure. OMG !

It took a few episodes before she could strut her stuff but once the tv guys got a taste of Heather it happened more often and the famous blue bikini scene was quickly added to the new intro of the second season.

For generations of adolescent young boys the only highlight of the week was the short moment when Heather appeared in her famous blue bikini.

Like most growing teenagers I watched that show religiously but the biggest part of its appeal for me were sexbombs like Heather Thomas and Markie Post who didn´t appear as often in a bikini as I would have liked.

Well, Heather Thomas did since that was her main purpose on the show but Markie Post´s appearances in bikinis on The Fall Guy were very few.

I AM SUFFERING FROM ( MARKIE ) POST TRAUMATIC SEX SYNDROME !

Markie Post played bail bonds contractor Terri Michaels ( who replaced previous bail bonds contractor Samantha Jack played by Jo Ann Pflug ) beginning with Season 2 and at the beginning she played a minor role.

But Markie Post knew that she was destined to super stardom, so when the opportunity arose that one of the producers of the show who was a bit smitten with Markie appeared on the set she managed to set up a few meetings - just to discuss her role of course. Even though he claimed to be happily married the business meetings turned into private meetings which were then relocated to a secret no - tell motel where Markie used her relentless body and her natural ability to spread her legs better than a fillipino hooker to give the lucky guy who was hung like a horse a Kama Sutra crash course with more than the twenty three positions in a one night stand including sexual practices that are illegal in fourteen states.

After Markie had successfully dicktamed the guy six ways to Sunday during these weekend long squirt marathons he was only too eager to convince the rest of the guys in charge what a complete waste it would be to have somebody like Markie on the cast without letting her " show off what her Mama gave her " like they say Today and the rest is 80s tv history. So Markie got more involved in the stories where she stole the scene from Heather Thomas as soon as she donned a bikini ( mainly in season three ).

Coming back to Heather Thomas, thanks to her absolutely stunning 37 ( ! ) - 23 - 32 measurements and the exposure in The Fall Guy she became a famous pin up model with posters in every hormone driven boy's bedroom.

She even managed to replace Raquel Welch on the number one spot !

80s Power Girl Markie Post is probably the best known cult siren on the blog because not only have I done many re - posts of her original post .

I also keep mentioning her in other posts and her original post is in the Top Ten Posts widget that appears on every post. Since I have done so many different versions it is not so tragic that I did not do a re - post last year even though I did the last version of her cult siren entry in 2016 .

Since I couldn´t find any noteworthy birthdays on April the 24th we are going straight to Today´s anniversaries and I have to confess I would have skipped Werner Enke - who celebrates his 79th birthday - if some inner voice hadn´t compelled me to take a closer look at his imdb rap sheet.

Well, I don´t know if it was my subconscious babe radar at work here but as it turns out Werber Enke was the writer and male lead of the sleeper hit movie Zur Sache Schätzchen ( Go For It Baby ) whose big success was in great part due to actress Uschi Glas - who has appeared in everything from SOKO to Winnetou und das Halbblut Apanatschi - displaying her 24 year old booming body turning into a cult siren for an entire generation.

Which was a stroke of luck because otherwise unbelievable Uschi would had continued in her career as a secretary or accountant. When I saw the movie for the first time I was surprised how subversive it was compared to the actual tv content and as far as I could ascertain it was a big hit when it came out because it perfectly captured the Zeitgeist of the youthful protest against the german establishment and the loosening morals in the wake of the sexual revolution. Of course part of the big draw was the hot ( but sadly interrupted ) striptease at the police station by Schätzchen Uschi - how she was quickly nicknamed by the german yellow press.

For people in Germany who only know her from the later part of her career it might be impossible to see her as a sex symbol but young Uschi Glas had game, making all guys go crazy with her breathtaking body left and right.

Uschi also tried her luck as a short lived Schlager star during the 70s and even recorded the album Wenn dein Herz brennt with Giorgio Moroder.

We are coming to a rather sad anniversary as Today would have been the 93rd birthday of french artist Albert Uderzo who just died on the 24th of March this year. I have to say it hasn´t really sunk in for me yet. I mean he had already passed the baton of illustrating the series Asterix to the next generation but it still feels unreal. I don´t think I have written much on him and of course he´s best known for Asterix which he did with friend and colleague writer Rene Goscinny. But he also worked on other books that I read and enjoyed like the western Umpah - Pah or one of the best comics ever Les Aventures de Tanguy et Laverdure about which I have written more in this post where you can also find an episode from the french tv series from the 1960s, the trailer for the movie adaption called Sky Fighters and an overview of the comic series from El Tebeonauta.

In Germany the series was called Mick Tangy and like a lot of comic fans from my generation I first read it in the issues of german cult magazine Zack which also included Umpah - Pah and Asterix. I think we were the last generation to read the adventures of these classic franco belgian comic heroes in an anthology before it was reprinted in album form.

Who already left his mortal coil behind in 1978 is editor Mort Weisinger whose birth was also on the 25th of April and I was not sure if I should include him since not a lot of people have nice things to say about him.

He was known to be a heavy handed editor who did what we now call " micro managing " especially as editor of the Superman titles. Somebody once said " If you don´t have anything nice to say about somebody it´s best to say nothing at all. " and they might be right. On the other side it would be weird for a blog called TALES FROM THE KRYPTONIAN not to elaborate on this man who shaped the Superman mythos like no other.

Mort Weisinger started his career in science fiction, not only co - founding the very first fanzine devoted entirely to science fiction with the young Julius Schwartz but also forming the first literary agency to specialize in the related genres of science fiction, horror and fantasy which had such illustrious writers as Edmond Hamilton ( who wrote the CAPTAIN FUTURE books who were the basis for one of my favorite cartoons from my youth ), Otto Binder, H. P. Lovecraft or Ray Bradbury ( whose stories were often adapted to comicbook form by the guys at EC Comics ) among its clients.

In 1941 Mort started at DC Comics primarily as the editor of the SUPERMAN and BATMAN titles. Among his earliest jobs however was the task of " dreaming up new characters " which led to the - at least - co - creation of Aquaman, Green Arrow, Johnny Quick and the western hero Vigilante.

Coming back to Superman, Weisinger´s favorite character was Batman and after the realization that one of the main reasons for that was Batman could be hurt and Superman couldn´t he frequently featured stories in which Superman lost his powers and had to survive on his wits alone. The most famous of these stories is " Superman Under The Red Sun ! " from the 300th issue of ACTION COMICS written by Edmond Hamilton which has not only inspired entire generations of comicbook creators but was also adapted as a two - parter in Bruce Timm´s brilliant Justice League cartoon.

Speaking of red suns, it was under Mort Weisinger´s watch that the notion of Superman´s super powers deriving from Earth´s yellow sun was introduced into the Superman mythos as well as many other things that are for many fans of the Man of Steel forever part of the Superman lore like Supergirl, Krypto, the Phantom Zone, the bottle city of Kandor, a variety of types of kryptonite and one of the best comicbook series ideas of all time : the Legion of Super - Heroes. Longtime readers know that I am a huge Legion of Super - Heroes fan so I might be biased here but how can you top alien teenagers with super powers in space ? In the future.

Aside from characters and things Mort Weisinger also gave Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen their own spin - off titles over a lot of opposition from the management who thought that the characters were not strong enough.

So if you are a fan of Jack Kirby´s FOURTH WORLD Mort Weisinger is the one who started SUPERMAN`S PAL JIMMY OLSEN. And hired Jim Shooter for a popular run of the Legion of Super - Heroes even after he found out he was only 14 at that time. Maybe he thought " Why not let a teenager write a book about teenagers ? What´s the worst that can happen ? ".

He also came up with the imaginary stories which allowed creators to tell stories not bound to series or character continuity, time frame or logic and brought the concept of writing a story around a pre - drawn cover to comics which was used a lot by his old friend Julius Schwartz during his tenure of Editor - In Chief of DC Comics. But Mort Weisinger not only had a huge impact on the biggest super hero of the world he also was one of the story editors on The Adventures of Superman television series starring George Reeves and so his influence extends way past comicbooks to movies and tv shows we all love like Lois & Clark - The New Adventures of Superman, Smallville or the new CW shows where his concepts like the Legion of Super - Heroes or Supergirl awe and inspire new generations.

Wow, that ending was more upbeat than I thought. Usually the Dearly Departed section is more depressing which is why I don´t like writing it as much as the rest of the post. It´s also one of the reasons why my DEATH IN COMICS series is currently on indefinite hiatus. Coming back to uplifting things the first Superman movie is still the best because it has a strong positive message. Also Christopher Reeve is still the best Superman.

And anybody who complains that Superman doesn´t have a lot of fights and doesn´t punch a lot of bad guys doesn´t get what he´s all about.

It´s no secret that for me the best version of Supergirl was the Pre - Crisis Supergirl and my favorite costume was the one with the puffed sleeves and the red short shorts. Ever since CRISIS there has been no incarnation of Supergirl that was even remotely interesting and even DC Comics was not quite sure how to write her. They tried everything from spoiled brat to naiive girl to even making her more powerful than Superman in a cheap attempt to give the character more credibility. But the worst part was when they claimed that when Supergirl was near Power Girl that would put Power Girl´s powers on the fritz so Supergirl could defeat Power Girl.

Yes, that really smells of desperation. " Hey, maybe we can´t get readers to stop liking Power Girl more than Supergirl but we can invent a way so Supergirl can finally beat up Power Girl " Not that they used Power Girl much in the post REBIRTH DC universe and as far as I know she´s still missing in action. Ah, what I wouldn´t give for a good Power Girl book.

I recently bought one of the REBIRTH Supergirl trades but that was more because of Kevin Maguire´s art. And I don´t think he stayed on the title for more than the usual six issues. One of these days I have to check that.

Anyway, while the best time to read Supergirl is the Pre - Crisis era it was not all sunshine and roses as Comic Tropes proves with a weird Supergirl comic about : seat belts of all things. Yes, as strange as it sound, there was a time when people in America ( and in other parts of the world ) were against wearing seat belts afraid they would get trapped in the car in case of an accident and preferred to be thrown out of the vehicle.

We are still in the section about DC Comic characters co - created or at least overseen by editor Mort Weisinger and as usual I am late to the party because I had no idea that recap rap was a thing. This would have helped me a lot remembering all the dangling plot threats between the seasons.

As the last video in Today´s Mort Weisinger homage I just had to include Captain Future, one of the big science fiction heroes of my youth. I watched the cartoon, I read the books and of course the comic adaptions.

I think this is the last video I have from Das Phantastische Project about Captain Future and this one is about the pocket books that the Bastei Verlag published and which were based on the tv show, not the novels.

With the lockdown one of the things I try to watch more are the news which include the weather forecast. And I have to say compared to the women who have the job in other countries like this massita I have to say Germany isn´t even trying. Sometimes they even have some guy doing it.

Wow that is one very unfortunate preview picture ! For those interested to know more, the girl´s name is Xoana Gonzalez so either she is related to one of our last stripping weather forecast girls - Ruby Gonzalez - or Gonzalez is just a very common name in Argentinia and the rest is due to the fact that Argentinia is one of the leading countries in regards to having the most women with big breasts. Speaking of big breasts is it just me or are all women with " oana " in their name ultimate sexbombs who work for news tv shows ? First real life power girl Oana Andoni, the blonde XXL Busenwunder from romanian news channel Pro Tv and now Xoana.

Xoana Gonzalez is a model, dancer, PLAYBOY bunny, media personality, former car mechanic and a Dragon Ball fan - not necessarily in that order - and her measurements are 42D - 25 - 37. Born on October the 28th 1987 she is best known as a contestant on the dance show Soñando Por Bailar in 2011. She has demonstrated her incredible stripper skills on various tv shows like Este Es El Show and had a role in the movie Al Filo De La Ley.

X - rated Xoana was also involved in quite a few juicy scandals of which the night she spent with famous soccer star Lionel Messi is definitely the best known. According to Xoana it happened a long time ago and he probably wouldn´t remember her. He knew going in what he wanted from her and it wasn´t like he was underage. Now there are two versions of what happened during that fateful encounter. What is the same is that Xoana claims that she banged his brains out six ways to Sunday, making him squirt his brains out - there were a lot of goals scored and it ended in a tie. But in most interviews she complains that she had to do the work and it was almost like making love to a dead man. In some interviews she described it as a sweet night with lots of passionate, sweaty lovemaking.

Then there was a legal dispute with another model where she got fined and when it looked like she hadn´t paid the money an order for her arrest was given out and Xoana had to leave Argentinia for a year and a half.

The most recent uproar Xoana was involved in was that she became too popular among the inmates of a certain prison and not in the way you might think. Because of the Corona virus the work opportunities for most people have become rather limited so the Xoana came up with the idea to do an interactive online pay per view lingerie show with another model.

Now the show itself didn´t cause the big stir it was more a text message Xoana sent afterwards to the inmates of one prison who had participated the most and ensured its success. In the message Xoana thanked her fans but told them that the mobile phone they sent their messages to wasn´t hers but that of her manager. Who got a bit scared and they should lay off with sending her so much pictures of their boners. Of course the prison management was curious how the inmates got the internet access to view the lingerie show and the cell phones to make the calls and interact. As far as I could find out it never was discovered how the inmates watched the show but there was a dementi later that the phone calls came from a different prison and were made with the public phones there. After this declaration Xoana sent another message thanking her fans in prison again.

Today´s extra long Corona video is a special episode of Inside Of You with Michael Rosenbaum and the voice actors from the Justice League cartoon.

Time for another video with the rack - tastic Angie Griffin, one of the few female cosplayers on the planet who can give walking blow up sex doll Yaya Han and her huge hasian sexsation 40D porn implants a run for their money with her giant - sized ( and 100 percent all natural ! ) 41E double airbags.

Daimn, no disrespect to Scarlett Johansson but Angie is my choice for Black Widow and I bet her huge melons would turn Bucky into Fucky.

If the Black Widow had a body like that in the comicbooks it´s no wonder that Captain America insisted on interrogating her himself after she defected to the West to find out if she was spying for the russians.

In an undisclosed motel. For a few months. Daimn, maybe it´s just me but Natasha Romanoff lost a lot of sex appeal when she stopped being a russian spy who used her special KGB sex techniques to get intel from hapless american studs with huge horsecocks. It´s the same with figure skater Katarina Witt ( and what a figure : 36C - 24 - 36 ). Ever since the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany she lost a lot of her sex appeal. On the other side she has done a few PLAYBOY shootings since then which we would not have gotten if she was still in East Germany.

Anyway, coming back to Busenwunder Angie Griffin at first I tried to find a video where her costume fits the topic of this post but keeping in mind that there are only a few left and you never know how much time you have with the whole Corona thing and all I decided to go with the breast one I have right now. Angie doesn´t have a specifically elaborate costume in this one but she more than makes up for that with sheer volume and enthusiasm. Not only is she wearing a huge cleavage in this one, she also let´s her massive melons hang loose and there is a lot of bouncing action.

As you may have noticed I only posted a documentary about Zur Sache Schätzchen and that´s because I couldn´t find the full movie on YouTube.

So to make up a bit for that shortcoming ( or add insult to injury ) I am including the german cult movie Liane, das Mädchen aus dem Urwald a.k.a. Liane, The Jungle Girl with german Fräuleinwunder Marion Michael.

The then fifteen year old actress who was chosen among 12,000 other girls for the role generated quite a stir because she ( as well as the female african extras ) was topless for most of the movie only wearing a loincloth.

Which might not have turned the movie into a huge box office success if the catholic church hadn´t inadvertently promoted the movie by calling it " an example of the moral decline of the youth " and Marion Michael " a shameless temptress who uses her nubile, sinful, naked body to corrupt our young males ". It´s no wonder that all the horny guys flocked to the cinemas in troves turning Marion Michael in the first nude celebrity for adolescents and the first silver screen nude star of post war Germany.

Marion was also the second german actress to appear nude on film after Hildegard Knef in 1950s The Sinner. Coming back to Liane, The Jungle Girl the movie has a funny and long history where the rating is concerned and was reviewed over a half dozen times. It was reviewed for the first time in 1956 by the FSK and after three scenes were cut it got a 10 years and older rating. Then the highest boards for youths of the country tried to get a retrial which had to be repeated because of procedural defects.

Then the working committee gave the movie a 12 years and older rating in 1956 while the main committee gave it a 16 years and older rating in 1957 - with a slim majority. At that point the movie had already been in movie theaters for four months. The legal committee of final appeal confirmed the 10 years and older rating in 1957 and one thing that was debated was if an almost naked white woman or girl could be among african topless tribeswomen. But the censors could find no stimulating sexual effect with that. In 1974 the FSK reviewed the movie again and lowered the rating to 6 years and older only to raise it to a 12 years and older rating in 2000.

Hardy Krüger said this was " the worst movie I ever made " but he can´t argue that it gave him a big career boost. It also put " Germany´s answer to Brigitte Bardot " Marion Michael on the map but she never could quite escape her image of nude jungle girl. From Today´s perspective the movie seems harmless as it retells the story of Lord Greystoke who becomes Lord of the Jungle with a female protagonist but Liane had some special stimuli which her male counterpart Tarzan - or Akim in Germany - could not top.

Since the movie was such a big success there had to be a sequel with Marion Michael - this time without Hardy Krüger - called Liane, die weiße Sklavin a.k.a. Jungle Girl And The Slaver or Nature Girl And The Slaver which could not equal the success of the first movie. There also was a third movie in 1961 called Liane, die Tochter des Dschungels a.k.a. Liane, Daughter Of The Jungle but that was basically just a compilation of the first two movies which unsurprisingly flopped with german audiences.

In the summer of 1959 - while shooting Bombs On Montecarlo with Eddie Constantin - Marion Michael was severely injured in a car accident which left her with a scar on her face and the press was quick to announce the end of her career. After her recovery Marion returned to acting in movies but stopped in 1963 to play theater. In the 70s she tried a comeback on television with movies and as the host of kids tv show Emm wie Meikel ( kids from my generation remember this show fondly ) but she had to quit after the fifth episode because her stage fright became too strong and retired from the public. Despite her lack of screen time after the 1960s Marion Michael remained a well known german film icon and her last on screen appearance was in a 1996 television musical about her life, Liane.

So far I have gone for the Halloween vibe in the last posts and keeping in mind the topic of the main part it would be easy to apply that here. But in post time Halloween is still in the far future and in real time I am slowly loosing the post Halloween glow and getting into the pre Christmas spirit.

As much as one can get into a Christmas spirit with the Christmas markets canceled and having to stay at home. But that´s still in the future. Today I want to continue the jungle adventures theme and to get you into the right mood here is dutch euro dance duo 2 Unlimited with Tribal Dance.

Speaking of jungle fever, I had a huge crush on nubian 2 Unlimited singer Anita Doth who had two huge talents I wanted to crush. She has gained some weight since but in all the right places because there was a chart show Anita was on and her mouthwatering melons were just gigantic.

One thing that always surprised me with 2 Unlimited is that it never occurred to anybody to make a spoof of Let The Beat Control Your Body called Let The Beer Control Your Body. I mean : Let the beer control your body, let the beer control your body, let the beer control your body, now let the beer control your body. Control your body, the beer is running through your veins.Control your body, when you let it penetrate your brain. The thing practically writes itself, that´s like printing money.

Speaking of taming wildcats, we are making our way back to the jungle with a callback for my german viewers even if only the oldest ones will recall Im Reich der wilden Tiere or Mutual Of Omaha´s Wild Kingdom as was the original title. It was one of the standard tv shows when I was growing up. The guy who did the german dubbing was a very prolific voice actor and his voice is connected to many cherished childhood memories.

I was wrecking my brain which cartoon I could include since the one I most wanted to - the Tarzan cartoon from Filmation - doesn´t have full episodes on YouTube. But then I came across a 1966 King Kong cartoon.

I could not find any full episodes of that either but thankfully there is a more recent King Kong cartoon and you can find a plethora of episodes.
