While preparing the material for the Peter Capaldi Doctor Who spin - off I came upon a few original pages by Dave Gibbons for the british DOCTOR WHO weekly magazine. Now usually I would just put them into the folder and wait for the next occassion when The Doctor comes up but the way this year is going I thought : " Why wait ? " and it is his birthday after all.
Dave Gibbons´ birthday, not The Doctor. I have no idea when The Doctor´s birthday is. Anyway, as I said in the already mentioned Peter Capaldi DOCTOR WHO post while I am a big fan of the DOCTOR WHO tv show I have never gotten much into the comics. And I know there are a lot of them. One of the few I am really interested in getting my hands on are those by Grant Morrison and Dave Gibbons. In the same post I said that those DOCTOR WHO comics were by Marvel Comics and I think I should specify that before hordes of Whovians storm my house and burn me on the stake. Those stories were not new stories done by Marvel Comics but stories from the also already mentioned DOCTOR WHO WEEKLY that Marvel reprinted, first in MARVEL PREMIERE and then in its own DOCTOR WHO comic which also featured other stories from DOCTOR WHO WEEKLY. In any case, while the stories are pretty old they do have an exquisite pedigree and I´m sure there must be an affordable collection somewhere out there.
While I don´t want to do a full - on DOCTOR WHO bonus section ( for one this could become boring fast, second I don´t want to run out of Doctor Who videos too fast and lastly there are some videos which are geared to certain actors ) I want to include a few videos from the Tom Baker / Peter Davidson era since that is the time frame from all of the pictures above.
Since the video above is from the 30th anniversary of the show and I don´t have any other comicbook related videos with Doctor Who I thought this one would be fitting. And we all love a multi - Doctor story.
Right now we are in this odd time between seasons with Doctor Who which is the perfect time to watch the other shows from the Whoniverse and if you haven´t done so already you absolutely must check out The Sarah Jane Adventures. Sadly Elisabeth Sladen has passed away so there won´t be any new seasons but for me this is hands down the best Doctor Who spin - off. No disrespect to John Barrowman and Torchwood but they had some seasons that were really tough to get through - especially the last two - while The Sarah Jane Adventures is consistently good. Plus you have a few episodes where the Doctor makes a visit. I know it´s geared more towards kids but it doesn´t write down to kids like most of the kids show I see on tv now do. Maybe it´s just me but every adult in these new kids shows acts like a complete moron. Anyway, one of things I find funny is that when Jodie Whittaker became the new Doctor a lot of people were upset because they couldn´t imagine a female Doctor which was basically the part that Elisabeth Sladen played in The Sarah Jane Adventures.

We are closing the Doctor Who related part of the entertainment section with Doctor Puppet and this really is only the second episode I posted.
With so many posts on the same date I want to take the opportunity to explore some things at length that I had to cut short in previous posts.
Now regular followers of the blog might remember that in my BLACK AND WHITE post for X - MEN month I started the whole litany of hot sexbombs the late Charles Napier worked with. But with some of them - like the always present 90s soft sex legend Shannon Whirry - I just mentioned them briefly and added an animated GIF or a sexy picture if I had one.

And to think that they were originally planning to get a girl that looked like Dolly Parton ( not that there would have been anything wrong with putting a Busenwunder like Dolly on the show ) and that Catherine wasn´t sure she could wear her shorts on the show. And I´m saying " her shorts " because she made many of the costumes she wore on the show by hand particularly those seen in early episodes, including tops, the red bikini seen during the first episode, One - Armed Bandits, that was immortalized in the opening credits and her famous trademark Daisy Duke cut - offs.
Originally I was going to write that Catherine Bach should have been in bikinis more often but since I still have only seen the first three seasons I don´t know if she wore a bikini or any swimsuits for the rest of the show.
The only time I really watched more of the show was when one of the channels here in Germany showed reruns of it. So I naturally jumped at the chance when the first three seasons were offered at amazon at ten bucks a pop. From time to time I check to see where they are but at the moment they are at 25 bucks a season which is almost as much as I paid for the first three seasons together. Sooner or later I will have to start ordering them because Catherine alone is worth the price of admission.
For this post I chose the Ultimate Daisy Duke Tribute - not only because of the name but also because it has the most scenes of Catherine Bach in her famous red bikini - and I found it on the channel of a guy who spends all his day making Catherine Bach tribute videos. So you know it´s legit the ultimate mix. Which also means that if his channel ever gets taken down I´m screwed and not only the videos I bookmarked are going down but also all the videos I have embedded in a post by then. But no, if this guy really is spending all his time making these videos for us to enjoy I say more power to him. Looking all day at footage of daisy duking DD backseat candy Catherine Bach - I can think of worse things to spend your time on.

Because YouTube. I haven´t seen this one before so I can´t tell you if this was a story from Superman - The Animated Series that they put on DVD like the Superman / Batman crossover of if this was done as a separate story. I also can´t tell if it´s any good but I hope this will be an exciting watch for me as well as for my followers. Rao knows we can all use a good DC Comics cartoon since there are none on the air right now. Yes, I have seen Justice League Action. Like I said, there are no good DC Comics cartoons on the air right now ( not counting reruns of the Timmverse ).
Yes, I know that it hasn´t been that long since I last posted a Jenny Babas video but I just wanted to include this one for all the Jenny Babas fans out there who don´t know that she is not only active on her own channel but is spreading her awesomeness to others. I have a lot more videos but they are from a series and I would have to put at least five videos here.
We are coming back to science fiction ( and when you look at it that´s what Superman is : a science fiction story, I mean, he lands on earth in a rocket ship for crying out loud ) with one of the best tv shows out there Firefly. Heck, even my mother approves of this. Unlike Doctor Who it only got one season but that´s just an example that the best material isn´t always the most successful one - which is contrary to popular belief.
We can´t end the post without a real music video so we are making the transition from the best gams on tv to the best legs in Schlager with the german´s favorite Fräuleinwunder next door, the charismatic Linda Hesse .

Anyway, coming back to lucky Linda Hesse, one reason why I wanted to include Nein is that it really shows off her superb hardbody.
