Going down this month´s list of anniversaries I thought that Gil Kane was a no - brainer for an X - MEN MONTH entry but then I remembered that I have already used a lot of his iconic X - MEN covers for previous posts.
So after checking which Gil Kane covers I had already posted I consulted my picture archive and the first idea I had was to do a DEJA VUE post about Gil Kane´s cover for GIANT - SIZE X - MEN 1 but that would have included more art by other artists and I want to feature Gil Kane. Then I looked up all other covers and comic series that featured the X - Men which is why also included the cover to AVENGERS 110. The biggest part of this post though is MARVEL TEAM - UP 4 where Spider - Man has the usual Marvel Comic misunderstanding where he is first attacked by the X - Men before they team up to take down Morbius, the living vampire.
Gil Kane was one of the great artists of the 20th century and while it took me a while to do a post on him I more than made up for that by dedicating fifteen ( 16 !!! ) posts to Gil Kane. But before you panic, most of the posts just contain a selection of original art and covers which is one of the things he was known for. For Marvel he did a plethora of covers which is one of the reasons why I made more Marvel posts than DC posts for him.
With so many posts I almost didn´t include them but then I decided in favor of my newer readers. I thought about just numbering them but I think if I go to all the trouble and go through these links I should include some info. As I said I made less posts for DC than for Marvel, one about his covers for the german Superman / Batman issues by Ehapa , one with his covers for Green Lantern and the last one with more DC covers . For his Marvel work I did posts with some of his best covers , with more covers , with his Giant - Sized covers , his covers for Shang - Chi : Master of Kung Fu, one about his covers for Marvel´s horror titles - almost in alphabetical order - and the last one with even more covers for their horror titles .
I also did a black and white post with a selection of covers for DC and Marvel , one post with some covers from western comic books for DC and Marvel , one post with covers for swords and sorcery comic books , one post with an emphasis on DC and Marvel´s black characters , one about covers for comic books related to movies and last but not least one with covers for all those comic book series you may never have heard about .
My latest one was all the DC Comics material that was left from the art I had already prepared in advance - including some pages he did for Sergio Aragones FANBOY six issue mini series - but there is still a plethora of Gil Kane art I haven´t posted so there may be a few more in the future.
With our first video I am bending the rules a bit since I have two videos about comicbooks in this post but I wanted to include one about Gil Kane. Now we have another video about comicbooks further down the line and I didn´t want to include two videos with people talking about comicbooks.
I also didn´t want to post another video just with a random issue by Gil Kane. Thankfully I came across a few videos from the show Pawn Stars that include comicbooks. I have to admit I am not a regular viewer but when I am zapping through the channels and they have comicbooks - or other items I find interesting - I watch it. For some people comicbooks are still an investment but as I have learned over the decades when you have to sell your comicbooks you learn that they are not woth as much as you thought. In this episode we have the first issue of Avengers by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and Giant Sized X - Men 1 which was written by Len Wein and drawn by Dave Cockrum but which has a cover by the late Gil Kane.
Today´s first celebrity birthday is Diora " Double Dee " Baird who turns 37.
I have to admit that so far I haven´t seen any of her movies but I know of her - mostly because of her impressive 37E double airbags - which was the main reason that I cast her as the REAL Batgirl, the original Barbara Gordon Batgirl in my first Casting the Justice League of America movie post .
Since this is a Marvel themed post it´s only fitting that our next candidate is Paul Rudd who celebrated his 51st birthday since he plays the Scott Lang Ant Man. He also played Desmond Fellows on Veronica Mars with bikini 34D siren Charisma Carpenter best known as Cordelia on Angel.
One of these days I´ll have to get the first season of Veronica Mars to find out how it all started since I came in at the tailend of that season - as usual. Besides Veronica Mars Charisma Carpenter was also in episode 11 of season 5 of Burn Notice where she showed she still can deliver the goods.
In Germany only the first three seasons of Burn Notice have come out on DVD and right now I´m halfway through season 2. I´m not sure if I should wait any longer to see if they will do the rest someday or just get them through imports. Now that I´m invested I want to know how it plays out and there is even a spin off with Bruce Campbell´s character Sam. In any case Charisma´s funbags alone are worth the price of admission. Daimn !
It´s been a while since I posted a video with the rack - tastic Angie Griffin who is one of the few females on the planet who can give hasian cosplay blow up sex doll Yaya Han and her huge 40D porn implants a run for her money with her giant - sized ( and all natural !!! ) 41E double airbags.
Daimn, no disrespect to Scarlett Johansson but Angie is my choice for Black Widow and I bet her huge melons would turn Bucky into Fucky.
We are staying with incredibly hot women a bit longer as famous soft sex / erotic movie / b - movie cult siren Mia Zottoli turned 52. So far I haven´t managed to do a full post on her and it looks like this won´t change soon.
The month of April really has a lot of hot sexbombs that celebrate their birthday this month and with Krista Allen, Mia Zottoli and Nikki Fritz ( who celebrates her birthday Tomorrow ) this was always an extra busy time for me checking all the video links back when I had my old boob blog.
This is almost like the trifecta of erotic actresses but not quite as my top three are Nikki Fritz, Mia Zottoli and Shauna
O´Brien ( whom you might have seen in The Mistress Club or the Sex Files : Erotic Possession series ) in that particular order. Too bad nobody ever made a film with all three.
If you watch b - movies you have probably seen Mia in some movies and if you watch erotic movies chances are very high you have seen her take her clothes off. She had some breast surgery early in her career from which she benefitted greatly as you can see in her best best movies which are The Mummy´s Kiss, Fast Lane to Las Vegas and Sinful Temptations ( a+ ).
Especially the last one is my favorite Mia Zottoli movie not only because she´s in her best physical condition in this one but also because it has a lot of nude scenes with her in such a relatively short film. So check out her movies - if you haven´t yet - and for Mia Zottoli : many happy returns, as always good luck, stay strong, healthy and thanks for the mammaries !
Speaking of that part of the female anatomy Mark Strickson celebrates his 61st birthday who had the luck of playing Turlough on Doctor Who at the same time that Janet Fielding returned as Tegan in her boob tube outfit .
I think she is the first companion who came back after leaving the Tardis and if you want to watch her breast parts there is The Black Guardian Trilogy which includes Mawdryn Undead, Terminus and Enlightenment.
Tegan doesn´t seem to have a lot of fans among Whovians probably since she was a nuisance on her first stint on the Tardis. But you have to keep in mind that she got there by accident and just didn´t want to be there but couldn´t help getting involved in the Doctor´s adventures because he could not get her home. It´s understandable she was bitching all the time.
But Mark even managed to top that by getting his hands on possibly the hottest Doctor Who companion ever - Peri played by Nicola Bryant.
Some people ask me why I keep going over the birthday list each year when I have already done it the year before but there is always somebody who you either missed, didn´t know or had no material to post. It´s also important to go over the anniversaries until the last page because while it doesn´t happen that often you can find something on the very last page.
In this case it is Andreas C. Knigge who celebrates his 63rd birthday and he is a new addition to this section. I can´t believe I never mentioned him before. Even if he is not an artist and didn´t start writing comics until very late in his career he was a trailblazer for a discerning reception of comicbooks in Germany. In 1974 he co - founded the professional comic journal Comixene which he published until 1982. In 1983 he started as an editor at Carlsen Comics and was their chief editor from 1985 to 1998.
Through the publication of important works of international comicbook art and literature he shaped the german comic market in the 1980s and 1990s and he was one of the first patrons of german comicbook artists like Matthias Schultheiss or Ralf König. With the release of Frank Miller´s Batman - The Dark Knight Returns in 1989 he ushered in a renaissance of the american superhero comics in Germany. 1991 he published the first manga series in Germany with Akira and in 1997 the first manga that was printed right from left with Dragon Ball which caused a manga boom that lasts until Today. Simultaneous to his work at Carlsen Andreas was the founder - in 1986 - and publisher - until 1991 - of the Comic Yearbook, author of books about comics like Fortsetzung Folgt or Sex im Comic, a pocketbook from Ullstein that taught me all about comics and censorship.
Today Knigge works as a project developer, freelance journalist, ghost writer and literary agent and has written his own comics. He also appears in the works of german artists like Isabel Kreitz and Gerhard Seyfried and in 2005 he became a regular character in the french humor comic Fluide Glacial which came out in Germany under the name of U - Comix and included artists like Gotlib, Edika, Maester, Francois Thomas or Coyote.
We continue with cult sci fi franchises although we make the journey from Great Britain to Amerika as Billy Dee Williams turns 83. The charismatic actor who played Harvey Dent in the Michael Keaton Batman movies was also in a Defenders series and a Nighthawks series - which naturally had nothing to do with the Marvel characters of the same name - but he is of course best known as Lando Calrissian in the original Star Wars movies.
You know, I have finally started to read the Star Wars - The Original Marvel Years omnibus and I am halfway through the second one and I just realized that it´s Lando Calrissian and not Lando Clarissian like I always thought.
Yesterday I had to rearrange my DVDs because I have finally finished the last two seasons of Desperate Housewifes. That´s one of the few good things about the Corona virus lockdown : I get to watch all the shows in my pile like Mad Men. Anyway, I had to make room for the two seasons and came across my two DVDs of Hip Hop Honeys and after re - watching Blazin´ Asians I remembered that decades ago I wanted to post some videos of dj / graffiti artist / swimwear / lingerie model DJ Lady Tribe.
Born in Hong Kong as Nikki Shamdasani and raised in Los Angeles, CA she got arrested numerous times during her rebellious teen years for her graffiti art and because of her bonerinducing 34D - 22 - 34 measurements the arresting officers took a few hours to give the teenage sexbomb of hispanic, indian and japanese descend a thorough asian penetration full cavity search. Nikki has been in music videos, movies and tv shows, has her own DJ Lady Tribe Doll ( sadly not a blow up sex doll ), a collectible freight train features her very own graffiti artwork and a character in the PS2 game Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas is based on her sexy likeness.
Max Fleischer´s Gulliver´s Travels is an animated feature film that I have held onto for quite a few years and I was about to post it a few times.
Thankfully I have waited until now because this is not the video I was originally going to post. The one I bookmarked had a really low quality but now I found this version that is also in the right frame size. A lot of people talk about the Max Fleischer Superman cartoons which inspired the look of Batman - The Animated Series but they also did other material like this one. I don´t remember when I first saw it but it left a big impression on me and I think it may be one of the reasons why still to this day I prefer animation that is drawn by hand - even if it is not one hundred percent perfect - to computer generated work no matter how polished it looks.
