As a lot of other posts, the genesis of this one lies in doing research for other posts, in this case it was while writing the X - MEN MONTH post on Marc Silvestri and was looking for some pictures of the Goblin Queen.
Aside from the usual comic illustrations and pin ups I also found some pictures of an incredible Goblin Queen cosplay by Ashlynne Dae. Sadly I could only include one picture of her set which inspired me to do this.
Because it would be a crying shame not to share more of her fantastic Goblin Queen pictures with the world. Now those who have read the actual comicbooks know that she has taken some liberties with the character as for starters the Madelyne Pryor from the comics has straight hair while Ashlynne has curly hair but I would say that´s okay because I think that she has natural curls. I´m talking about the hair on her head.
Anyway, if you have read Yaya Han´s newest - or rather first ever - book Yaya Han´s World Of Cosplay you know that the goal of cosplay is much rather doing your own artistic interpretation of a certain character than trying to portray him as accurate as possible. Not that this would be a bad thing since it helps to recognize the person you are cosplaying as but the main goal of cosplay should be to have fun so I am giving Ashlynne a lot of leeway here. Plus I always give out bonus points for sexiness and daring costume cuts and she has the highest marks on this one. Daiummn, girl !
With the curly hair it looks a bit like a mash up between the Goblin Queen and Merida from Pixar / Disney´s Brave but if you have seen the movie you know that she is the actual villain of the flick who unleashes evil into the world because of her rampant feminismn and only manages to avert the complete destruction of the planet through sheer luck. Of course Today´s SJW - infested society couldn´t have a woman as the villain and so they are doing their best to paint her as a hero. Anyway, I think that if Ashlynne was really going for a Goblin Queen / Merida mash up that´s quite fitting since both characters did not start out as what they ended up. Madelyne was a devoted wife to Scott Summers but when he left her and her son to smooch up to his old flame Jean Grey outward forces put her through the ringer. First she was attacked and almost killed by the Maurauders ( which were handpicked by Gambit which almost everyone seems to ignore ), subsequently manhandled by the perverted underlings of Genosha´s Genegeneir and after she got magic demon powers from Nashtir Mister Sinister revealed to her that she was just a clone of Jean Grey. Merida on the other hand was just a spoiled, selfish trouble making rhymes - with - witch who almost killed everyone because she had no respect for family or traditions. Not quite the same but both great villains.
The second liberty Ashlynne took is that she made two versions of the Goblin Queen. One that is closer to the costume in the comicbooks and a second one which she calls the Boudoir version which is what the Goblin Queen would wear for a PLAYBOY centerfold or as PENTHOUSE´s Pet Of The Month if she hadn´t been killed at the end of the INFERNO crossover.
Which is one of my favorite X - MEN crossovers but since my readers must already be tired of hearing that I will elaborate on that further on my next INFERNO CROSSOVER post. Although now that I think about it Madelyne Pryor may have been resurrected during one of these SECRET WAR mini series ( not to be confused with the 80s SECRET WARS and SECRET WARS II mega crossover events, the second of which is my favorite Marvel Comics crossover of all times ) as I have seen her on a cover so who knows if the Boudoir Goblin Queen costume did not appear in a comic ? On the other side it may have been wiped out of existence along with the old 616 Marvel universe and replaced with whatever version of the Goblin Queen from an alternate universe we may have ended up in this new mashed up universe. And they totally stole that move from the Beyonder. Man, the Marvel universe has become way too complicated for me. What is canon ?
Now as good as Ashlynne Dae´s Goblin Queen cosplay is I don´t have enough pictures for a full fledged solo post which is why I am also including a lot of other stuff about the Goblin Queen in this post.
First up I have to give an honorable mention to Juby Headshot´s Goblin Queen who not only keeps it real by sticking to the original underboob shirt but who also scores major points for her giant - sized twin goblins.
And last but not least the best Goblin Queen pin ups / covers / illustrations I found as I promised at the beginning of the post.
We start the list of celebrity birthdays and pop culture relevant dates for April the 9th with afro - american 34C - 24 - 34 aphrodite Keshia Knight Pulliam who celebrates her 41st anniversary. I don´t know of this birthday is worth mentioning to Today´s millenials but to people of my generation she is best known as little Rudy Huxtable on 80s tv hit The Cosby Show.
Since then she definitely has grown up in all the right places which she showed in an impressive way on Splash. And whoever came up with that idea deserves a medal. Because we need more shows that are just a cheap excuse to put famous - or semi famous as long as they have a banging body - sexbombs from showbiz into the skimpiest bikinis. Now is it just me or is every country´s version of Splash better than the one from Germany ?
From what I have seen from France, Spain and America it´s just one long parade of hot celebrity sexbombs in bikinis who get wet while in Germany most female contestants are eliminated after the first two episodes. I´m not entirely sure but I would wager they don´t understand the purpose of the program. I mean how can you even think it´s fair to have the bottom contenders in a swimming contest to decide who stays ? Of course the men will win and this way you can guarantee there are no women left.
So much more than just a pop tart, beauteous brunette bra buster Rachel Stevens who turned 42 is, in her native England, about as big a sex symbol as one can get. And rightly so. Plucked from obscurity at age fifteen after winning a modeling competition, she embarked on a pop - music career after landing a spot in the girly group S Club 7. Now while he never starred in a comic book adaption - as least as far as I know - he does have two connections to comics or rather bande dessinées like they are called in France : Jean Giraud based the look of the main character from the famous western cult comic BLUEBERRY on him and Jean - Paul is a big fan of Herge´s TINTIN comics or TIM UND STRUPPI how the series is called here in Germany.
Of course he worked with a plethora of the hottest women in cinema history in his dozen of movies but I am only mentioning my top four cult picks since the whole list would bust this post. Now I am not ranking them and just listing them according to the year in which they made a movie with Jean Paul Belmondo. Because if I DID rank them italian sex goddess Sophia Loren - with whom he starred in Two Women in 1960 would change positions with our next sexbomb on the list. I don´t know if it was an early predilection for MILFs long before that term was coined but for me voluptuous Sophia Loren was always more the type of woman I was going for with her stunning 38C - 24 - 38 measurements than lolitas like Brigitte Bardot. Now the next two cult sirens are indeed in the order in which I would rank them, starting with 37D - 25 - 36 silver screen sex goddess and pin up queen Raquel Welch who appeared in 1977´s Animal. But most importantly in 1984 Jean Paul Belmondo was in a movie with the wardrobe malfunction prone queen of explicit nude scenes, french blow up sex doll Sophie " Tits Out " Marceau whom longtime readers remember as my choice for Justice League Europe liaison Catherine Colbert in the first part of my CASTING THE JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA MOVIE series.

What a trooper. In the movie she´s Jean Paul´s lover but when his wife returns a bit early from her vacation he says she´s his daughter from his ex. Sophie also starred in the horror movie NE TE RETOURNE PAS ( don´t turn around ) opposite Monica Bellucci which is like a dream sandwich.
I put her in the finale of the Hollywood Edition of Casting The JLA Movie series as Wonder Woman but now I´m tending more towards Big Barda.
In the original FOURTH WORLD comics by Jack Kirby - and this definitely changed in the NEW 52 - Big Barda was built like a brick shithouse with the personality of a lady trucker, the muscles of a female bodybuilder, the hot measurements of a playmate of the year and the cupsize of a porn star.
She got that from her mother Big Breeda, the fiercest female warrior on Apokolips who - nomen est omen - was therefore selected by Darkseid himself to breed the next race of warriors. I don´t know if it was because she spurned his advances or if he just thought she would produce the best offspring but it is implied that they used her like a blow up sex doll !
All for the next generation of Akopolips´ finest of course. Now with Big Barda the melons didn´t fall far from the tree and when she began to develop, especially in certain parts of her anatomy that had to do with procreation Darkseid decided to let her follow in her mother´s footsteps and - like mother like daughter - personally introduce Big Barda to the breeding pens to continue the family tradition. So as soon as she got wind of Darkseid´s perverted plans for her Big Barda decided to ditch Apokolips and hitched the next ride to Earth. According to Big Barda she managed to do that before Darkseid had a chance to break her in but maybe she was so eager to join Mister Miracle because she had tasted the Darkseed.

Not only to get Maria to do nude scenes that way but also because then I could cast Monica Bellucci as Big Barda and give the Wonder Woman role to british 90s porn superstar Sarah Louise Young .
Coming back to Sophie Marceau, not only does she drop her clothes very often she also shows great cleavage like in THE MUSKETEERS REVENGE ( or The daughter of D´Artagnan like it´s called in Germany ) that has one of my favorite scenes with her. D´Artagnan´s daughter ( Sophie Marceau ) is captured by the villain of the movie to be sold off to a brothel, but only " to the sleaziest one where they waste the whores very quick " as she says. The guy who has to sell her bitches starts complaining that at the price he has to get for her he´ll never get rid of her. At which point the bad woman tells him that in this case he should be glad, ripping open Sophie´s shirt and revealing her gorgeous breasts which shuts him up.
I still have not bought THE MUSKETEER`S REVENGE because for some reason it´s only available on DVD in Germany and priced very high. One might think it could be because of the nude scene but most of Sophie´s movies include some and the majority of them are not very expensive.
Writing this section is always a nice reminder of things that I planned to do and still have not been able to do and I really should get some of her movies. There is always so much to do that some things are put on the backburner for too long. One of these days I should get LA BOUM and the sequel to re - watch, once for the nostalgia but also because it has been really a long time since I first saw them and I don´t remember much of it.
I was probably too young to appreciate Sophie´s emerging teenage sexual appeal or more concerned about comics and I had completely forgotten her astonishing impression of Cyd Charisse from Singing In The Rain.
Which I have just re - watched two days ago. After writing about her repeatedly in the last few days I decided to get both Singin´ In The Rain and An American In Paris ( which is my favorite musical ) so I can watch them again. And as I could not fit everything about Cyd Charisse in those post´s bonus section I decided to give Cyd her own cult siren entry .
Originally I just wanted to do a short mention of the anniversary of Hugh Hefner´s birth but then I decided that a man who not only changed my life for the better or the lives of entire generations of men - and women - around the globe but improved humanity itself deserves better than that.
So I thought " Why not make a post spotlighting some of the hottest women that have been in PLAYBOY magazines or PLAYBOY videos whom I have featured on the blog ? " but as usual things quickly got out of hand and I ended up with a whole lot more than I bargained for. Maybe I will do the bonus post at some point in the future and at the least the new PLAYBOY posts are a resource to include in upcoming posts.
So far we have had a really international bonus section with visits to America, Great Britain, France and Italy and our next stop is Germany where our pop culture relevant candidate, the late Rolf Kauka was born.
Rolf Kauka was often called the german Walt Disney and his creation Fix & Foxy convinced a lot of german parents to let their children read comics who found Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck too american. Besides the long running Fix & Foxy his publishing company Kauka Comics gave readers other creations by Rolf Kauka like Die Pichelsteiner with artist Ricardo Rinaldi and Andrax with artist Jordi Bernet. He also brought international famous comics like Asterix & Obelix, Boule & Bill, The Smurfs, Spirou, Gaston Lagaffe, Lucky Luke or Tintin to german comicbook audiences.
The video I had initially posted has been blocked for viewing outside of YouTube but I found an even better one : the short film Symphony In Trash. This educational movie about the protection of environment was shown in german movie theaters at the end of 1973 as the supporting film for Rolf Kauka´s animated fairy tale Maria D´Oro Und Bello Blue. It´s been a long time since I have been in a movie theater - thanks to the abysmal quality of the latest Marvel universe movies and the millenials who have to be constantly on the phone ( how is it that you can train a monkey to stack boxes to reach a banana but you can´t teach certain people to shut off their mobile phone when they are watching a movie ? ) - but I miss supporting films. They were always cool, funny and even educational sometimes and got you into the right mood to see the feature film.
Speaking of the Marvel cinematic universe, unlike their last film releases James Corden´s Star Star tour with some of the cast members of Avengers : Infinity War and Avengers : Endgame is quite entertaining and funny.
Longtime followers of the blog know that whenever the subject of cosplay comes up I try to include a video with hasian 40D cosplay blow up sex doll Yaya Han but because this post is all about the Goblin Queen I wanted to post a video with Ashlynne Dae first. And I actually found a second video with more footage of her absolutely bonerinducing Goblin Queen cosplay.

Since we are on the subject of science fiction movies I want to feature one of my favorites Alien Nation, which in my opinion is very underrated.
I want to end this post with a rare YouTube find, one of the iconic tv shows of my youth Catweazle with the late Geoffrey Bayldon as the main character. The anniversary of his birth was on January the 7th so I missed it but I still want to pay homage since I have very fond memories of little Subzero watching this show that brought fun to many a hard times for me.
