Regular readers of the blog may remember that I planned to do a post all about Alan Davis´ art on what is called The Threeboot Legion ( or is it The Archie Legion ? I always get those two mixed up ). It was a restart after the Zero Hour crossover ( which I hope to tackle in a future installment ) that put the dial back to zero and retold the story of the Legion of Super - Heroes from day one. I don´t know if I have already told that story ( I probably have but I don´t have the time to go through all of my Legion posts right now - no pun intended ) but I had started to follow the Legion series for a short while when the Legion / Legionnaires series dropped.
Don´t get me wrong, I have been a Legion fan since I first encountered the teens from the future ( which happened in those old issues of MV Comics, in fact one of my most prized possessions is MV Comics issue 23 from 1972 which has the first german printing of THE REVOLT OF THE GIRL LEGIONNAIRES from ADVENTURE COMICS 236 ) but my brother had the series on his pull list and as brothers tend to do we tried not to have the same comicbooks on our pull list so we could read more series combined.
Anyway, how I ended up with the new Legion books was that my brother didn´t want to continue with the series and I wanted to keep on reading.
This was on the last leg of the serious Legion Keith Giffen had introduced ( I don´t know why his run that is so beloved by fans and critics alike is still not available in trade or omnibus ) when the Bierbaum´s took over the writing ( which that name there HAVE to be some german ancestors ) and Stuart Immomen was doing the art with some issues by Jason Pearson.
So my brother wanted to stop with the Legion and I wanted to continue so I took over. I don´t know how it is with most people out there but there have been a few times when I swapped series with my brother or took over and the way it worked is either the books would change hands as a present or he would sell them to me for cover price. Because while one should get back his investment it feels wrong to try and turn a profit from this. Especially since he could read all the issues I would be buying.
Coming back to the Threeboot Legion, soon after I had taken over the title the reboot happened and I really enjoyed to read all this old stories for the first time again. I know some Legion fans don´t like this run very much but I appreciated how the creators tried to put a new spin on all those stories without compromising the integrity of the what had happened before. I also discovered the art of the Moy brothers here for the first time and judging on some of the commissions I have seen they have to be put on a regular book. And one that has a lot of hot babes.
They have started to reprint this run so this is my first recommendation.
My second one is the two part ELSEWORLDS mini series SUPERBOY`S LEGION written by Mark Farmer, longtime inker to Alan Davis who provides the pencil art here. It´s not only one of the best ELSEWORLDS stories, it´s one of the best LEGION OF SUPER - HEROES stories ever that manages to present some of the familiar members in a cool new way. The story is positive and uplifting without ignoring the darker aspects of this world and it also showcases Alan Davis´ ability to portray people with different racial features without being too much in your face with it as it is done by most publishers Today. There is no need to tell you that certain characters have an asian or african background because it is apparent. So here is the original art - which is not as clean as in most of my other BLACK AND WHITE posts but you can still see enough of Alan Davis´ original art. And like I said, make sure to check this out as well as the Threeboot Legion.
Like I said in the intro here are a few birthdays that I had to either cut completely from the main post or at least shorten because I DID put a lot of work into these which also includes a lot of new animated GIFs I made especially for this post. But let´s start our final birthdays for this month.
It is a sad truth that when you get to be my age you survive a lot of your favorite artists as is the case with Mike Wieringo whose anniversary of birth was on the 24th of June. Last year I didn´t have enough material to write a post that does him justice and this year I have enough material but I don´t have the time. I did however write a special edition of Flash Friday since he was the regular artist on the title after Greg LaRouque had left the title and even after his stint at penciling the book he did the covers for a while so I always associate Mike Wieringo with Wally West.
Case in point : two comic creators who are no longer with us would have had their anniversary on June the 25th - Alex Toth and Peyo - and since they both share a birthday they also shared a post in 2016 . I have to say that I read a lot more material by Peyo through his work on the series Natasha, Steven Strong, Johan and Peewit and his biggest success The Smurfs so he had a much bigger impact on my life ( one of the first things I learned to draw was a smurf ). Which makes it a bit strange that I still haven´t done a solo post for Peyo while I somehow assembled enough material for a black and white post for Alex Toth in 2017. And you can find more celebrity birthdays from the 25th of June in both of these posts.
I hope I can make a post on Peyo in the near future because I sometimes forget those comics that are not about super heroes or serious topics and are just fun to read and full of imagination and fantastic adventures that can be enjoyed by kids and grown ups alike. New readers of the blog might want to check out my extra long post about Natascha though.
Sometimes I can´t avoid mentioning certain cult sirens, even if I try because they are connected to so many other birthdays. This time it´s striptease queen JaMILF Lee Curtis who pops up twice ( and I bet if I went to the trouble of going over the birthday list again I would find at least two more ) the first time is on July the 1st, the 67th birthday of Dan Aykroyd who appeared with her in Christmas with the Kranks. He also co - starred with Jamie in Trading Places where Jamie Lee Curtis went topless.
The second one is on July the 6th, the 68th birthday of Geoffrey Rush who was in The King´s Speech, Pirates Of The Caribbean and played super villain Casanova Frankenstein on Mystery Men. He also was in The Tailor of Panama where Pierce Brosnan got to feel up mega MILF Jamie Lee Curtis.
Pierce gets a good handful. Jamie was not always a sex symbol and started out in horror movies like Halloween and The Fog ( which also starred cult siren Adrienne Bareau about whom you can read more in this brand new spin - off post ) where she quickly became very famous for her impressive set of lungs as one of Hollywood´s premiere scream queens. Although she later became quite literal famous for her impressive set of lungs as her boobs had busted out and she quickly got the nickname " freezeframe " because her scenes in movies like Trading Places or Perfect became the most paused on the vcr thanks to her sexy 34C - 22 - 34 measurements.
She is best known for her incredibly hot striptease on True Lies, the best striptease in movie history - at least according to a poll conducted in 2007.
Which is all the more impressive if you keep in mind that Jamie Lee Curtis was 36 at the time. So she did her best movie scene when her body was in remarkable shape - she exercised every day for this - and I cannot even begin to imagine how epic it would have been if she hadn´t kept on her underwear and gone full monty frontal nudity. Because James Cameron had seen her in A Fish Called Wanda and wrote the role of Helen Trasker specifically to see her nude body. A lot of other actresses auditioned for the role and while I could definitely see Demi Moore in that part ( who is the number one in my Top Movie Stripteases thanks to her spectacular performance in Striptease ) or even Kim Basinger, Michelle Pfeiffer, Geena Davis, Rosanna Arquette, Madonna, Jennifer Jason Leigh and possibly Lea Thompson or Sharon Stone I thank God that it wasn´t given to Emma Thompson, Melanie Griffith, Debra Winger, Anette Benning or Joan Cusak.
I have already done a number of posts on JaMILF Lee Curtis : the original post which mostly contains pictures with links to animated GIFs , one post with all the pictures I could find , a re - posted version with a few GIFs added and the post I did on her in 2016 which has lots of spectacular GIFs.
Speaking of spectacular GIFs, the reason why I am mentioning Demi Moore - besides the opportunity to feature her - is I wrote a new version of her cult siren entry ( part 1 / part 2 ) with more GIFs of Demi girating her booty than you can shake .... okay, I´m not going to finish the sentence.
Then on July the 8th Rocky Caroll turned 55 and he´s best known as NCSI Director Vance who took over after the demise of his predecessor Jenny Shepard played by Lauren Holly whom you might know from her parts on Dumb & Dumber, Down Periscope but most of all Picket Fences as her appearance in a bikini is the predominant one among her animated GIFs.
The kid in episode 14 of season 1 called Bad Moon Rising is experiencing his first wet sex dreams and his chosen subject is sheriff depute Officer Maxine Stewart who appears in lingerie, said black bikini and hockey gear.
Now on one side you wonder why he picked the town´s sheriff depute as the object of his sex dreams ( which oddly doesn´t involve handcuffs, ah, he´s probably still too young for the kinky stuff ) since that may lead to trouble once she finds out ( she does use a gun in her job ). On the other side there seems to be an episode where she posed nude for a magazine ( I don´t think they show the actual shooting ) which isn´t too far fetched keeping in mind that Lauren Holly had an incredible hardbody back then.
Most of the males in town were probably fantasizing about giving her a full cavity search and the number of juvenile delinquents shot up since all horny teenagers hoped to get strip searched by Maxine. With that in mind her three ( !!! ) sex dream sequences make more sense and surely Lauren Holly made entire generations of teenagers reach puberty ahead of time.
Now with these cult sirens I like to include animated GIFs as well as videos because the videos tend to vanish after a while. But this time I didn´t even find the full bikini scene on YouTube and had to go elsewhere. So you can at least watch this scene but there are two more hot scenes with Lauren Holly in that episode which I haven´t been able to find anywhere.
If somebody out there has seen them on YouTube or the likes please let me know and the only alternative is to cough up 23 bucks for season one.
But don´t despair, for all the poor wretches like me there is still the 2010 drama The Final Storm where Holly shows she still has a banging body .
Zachi Noy celebrated his 66th birthday and he´s pretty famous in Germany - at least for people of my generation for starring in the erotic comedies EIS AM STIEL ( Lemon Popsicle in english ) which had like a dozen or so sequels and also gave german Busenwunder Sibylle Rauch a big career boost. She starred in a lot of erotic movies but the EIS AM STIEL movies were the most watched at that time. They follow a trio of friends on a quest to loose their virginity and as usual hijinks and breasts ensue.
Sibylle used that popularity to further her film career and start as a singer ( this was the time when megabusty singers like Sabrina Salerno, Danuta, Angela Cavagna, Fanny Cadeo or Samantha Fox became big stars thanks to the predominance of music videos ). She later became one of the most successful porn stars with one of the biggest german porn companies and her sales records breaking movie BORN TO LOVE even guest starred british porn superstar Sarah Louise Young . But Sibylle topped the success of this megaseller with SISTERS IN LOVE where her sister Sylvie Rauch appeared.
Sybille was the publisher - as well as the face and boobs - of the german HUSTLER magazine from 1992 till 1995. She did a lot of cocaine and I thought she died in 1997 but apparently she survived her suicide attempt.
On July the 10th we come to Russ Meyer muse Tura Satana and I did a cult siren post for her in 2011 which I re - posted in 2016 which is mostly about the cult movie Faster Pussycat ! Kill ! Kill ! ( The Devil Women of Tittfield in german ) although it touches on her other movies and has her full bio.
Speaking of Russ Meyer movies, one of my favorites is UP ! starring Raven De La Croix. She looks like a real life Wonder Woman and it´s a shame there never was a Wonder Woman movie with Raven in the lead role.
The former blow up sex doll template played the role of überbusty amazonian princess in the 1984 Jim Wynorsky skin flick The Lost Empire. I wrote a bit more about her in my first Justice League Casting Alternates .
Meyer’s 1976 comedy thriller UP ! was co - written by Roger Ebert and contains Nazis, lesbianism, rape, buggery, a backwoods sheriff, piranha, kinky sex - and that’s just the first 10 minutes ! The movie offers a lot of very graphic sex scenes which are highly erotic, well photographed and stunningly edited. The female cast members all engage with the outdoor, sunny California countryside, but under a spell of kinetic blankness like sex machines gone wild especially Janet Wood who not only has a name made for porn movies if I ever heard one but also one of the best scenes with her on - screen partner Robert McLane who was a homosexual in real life.
I have read that homosexual actors are often used in straight porn movies because they can pound a woman for hours without risking to climax but Janet Wood doesn´t look like a woman who cares if her sex partner will squirt as long as she can milk him dry. So either she rode him like a woman possessed because she could vent all her pent up sexual frustration or she worked herself into a frenzy trying to put him on the straight path again.

Now besides possibly being the first Russ Meyer movie I saw in a cinema another reasons why it´s my favorite - besides the bevy of hot sexbombs like Kitten Natividad or Marianne Marks in the cast - is the lead actress.
The gorgeous Raven De La Croix with an exotic name and a body which can only be a true gift from the gods, stars as Margo Winchester, one of Meyer’s strongest female characters. Constantly victimized by most men, yet refusing to play the victim, spitting out her lines in a Mae West - type drawl, Raven De La Croix and her bountiful figure totally steal the movie.
Totally nude and usually running around outdoors for most of the film, De La Croix is incredibly sexy and funny. She had done lots of modeling by 1976 and appeared in UP! after coming to terms with the fact that she had to perform nude scenes and graphic sex scenes. According to De La Croix, she really went all out for this film, destroying her feet while running through the desert, almost sacrificing her life during the drowning / rape scene, and unknowingly being body doubled during some of the more questionable sex scenes ( I wonder where they found the body double ).
Speaking of babes with impressive measurements, I know she isn´t near the actresses that appear in your regular Russ Meyer movie but am I the last person on the planet to find out that Taylor Swift got boobs now ?

I remember that there was an episode of Teens React about Taylor Swift´s video Look What You Made Me Do and I immediately went back to re - watch it because if they had shown Taylor Swift´s mega boobs I am sure I would have remembered it. But they just skipped over it very quickly.

Anyways, there has been a lot of talk if Taylor Swift has had a boob job or is just wearing a really good push up bra but I have to say I don´t care. Because if there is nothing that can be pushed all the push up bras in the world can´t help you. I often mention a lot of the negative things about living in Germany - censoring and bad translation of comicbooks and movies - so you might think I hate it here. And while it is true that IF I had grown up in one of the other countries my father visited before Germany - America or Japan or Spain - I would be a famous comicbook creator now there are certain things in Germany I would miss. One of the things we take for granted here is that you can get to a lot of other countries by car since Germany shares borders with so many ( which was one of the reasons why Hitler´s expansion plans succeeded so quickly ) which is why germans value a good car so much. And vacations. Anyway, I think I have posted the video with the spaghetti ice cream before ( don´t ask, I will explain it when and if I post it ) so here is one of a road trip that has a lot of landscape shots.
Finding the right comicbook video wasn´t easy since there are not a lot about the Legion of Super - Heroes but The Eternaut shares a few things with the adventures of those time - traveling teens : it was a vision of the future that came true and features aliens who try to take over the world.
Yep, I´m still pimping the Justice League vs The Fatal Five movie, at least until some other Legion - connected thing comes around ( like maybe a tv show, CW guys ? hint, hint ). I still got two more clips and there is one which I will save for as long as I can because it spoils the ending. So don´t say I didn´t warn you and watch it already. What are you waiting for ?
