Ein Daredevil Donnerstag mit Frank Miller

We are slowly making our way through some of the Days of Birth Pasts that I have not gotten around to cover this year and Today we take another look at one of Marvel´s watershed comic book series by Frank Miller.

And I´m saying " another look " because this is actually my second post about Frank Miller´s tenure on DAREDEVIL. Well, full on post. I already mentioned him in this post in 2015 that was an overview of the series.

Because as some readers may have noticed one thing I like to feature on this blog are the often underrated, underappreciated or simply forgotten comic creators who never get their due. And in the case of DAREDEVIL it is writer Roger MacKenzie who introduced important characters like Ben Urich and laid the groundwork for which Frank Miller reaped the credit.

Last year I did also not do a DAREDEVIL post for Frank Miller´s birthday because another thing I like to do is go with the not so obvious choices. I don´t know why but there is this little voice in my head that nudges me to throw my readers a curve ball now and then so that post was all about his work on the Spider - Man related books . Which makes my post from 2017 the only DAREDEVIL by Frank Miller post and it´s all about issue 181.

Therefore it was a bit difficult to choose the pages for this post and I´m not mentioning how long it took me to find the according color pages to most of the original art pages in the Frank Miller DAREDEVIL folder. At first I thought about going in chronological order but then I decided to go with the best quality for this post since I don´t know when I will be able to do the next one. One advantage this post has is that at the same time it also highlights Klaus Janson´s wonderful inks since I haven´t gotten around to do a spotlight post for him. As I already wrote in my last post about Frank Miller´s DAREDEVIL it is not really my favorite run on the title but I can appreciate how groundbreaking it was at it´s time and I think a big part of the credit has to go to Klaus Janson without whom the book wouldn´t have looked as good as it did. Anyway, since I have already said all that there is to say on that subject we can go right to the art for Today´s post and we will see each other at the link / entertainment section. Enjoy !

With topics like this there is the problem that I might include some links that were in previous posts but since I depend one hundred percent on pictures and other resource material that is provided by the hard work of others I think it is better to be safe than sorry. And who knows, some of my readers might even check out a link that they have skipped before.

There is also the chance - however slim - of some new readers coming here for the first time ( oh boy, have they picked the right post for an introduction to my world, just wait for the entertainment section ) who don´t want to go back and check out my old posts. I also hate to include the usual suspects but on the other side I want to give credits to all the unseen helpers who make this blog possible. For this post I want to start with BRONZE AGE BABIES who have more material about the four part story that was printed in Daredevil issue 158 , issue 159 , issue 160 and issue 161 as well as issue 163 for all those who still have a craving for more Frank Miller Daredevil. They can also head over to MY MARVEL LIFE to read more about Daredevil issue 158 , issue 165 , issue 171 and issue 181 , NOT A HOAX ! NOT A DREAM ! takes an in - depth look at Daredevil issue 191, Frank Miller´s last issue ( at least until his return with BORN AGAIN and later DAREDEVIL : MAN WITHOUT FEAR ) and last but not least  MARVEL COMICS OF THE 1980s has the unpublished cover for Daredevil issue 167 and the PENCIL INK BLOG provided the cover and a page of interior art from Daredevil issue 163 which you probably will see in an upcoming post.

Before we come to Today´s birthdays there is one that I have to mention which I didn´t put into my last post because I didn´t want it to get lost in the shuffle. And it´s a good thing that I only am including one of the many celebrity birthdays I missed because even though I am only including two candidates from Today the fun block has become longer than planned.

Coming back to the birthday I should have included in my last post it´s Mike Allred, a personal favorite who had his 50th anniversary Yesterday.

Now because there might be new readers on this blog and I know that we are all lazy I am putting up the links to my old Mike Allred posts for all those who don´t want to use the link at the bottom of my top ten Popular Posts and then go through all the posts via the Mike Allred tag.

My first post was in 2006 about the X - STATIX presents DEAD GIRL mini series and the fact that it looks much better in printed form than in the previews you could see online. In 2007 I did three posts about the main X - Statix series which I guess were pretty popular with the readers since the third one of the series ended up in said top ten of popular posts. And last but not least there is my obligatory big Madman comic extravaganza post .

For Today´s birthdays I have tried to keep it short with only two birthdays but as always thing didn´t work out as planned. As longtime readers know I like to switch things up once in a while so both anniversaries are about people who don´t get mentioned as often in this section as others and the first one is Jennifer Love Hewitt who turns 40. I saw her in a few of her movies like I Know What You Did Last Summer but it wasn´t until Ghost Whisperer that I became completely entrapped in her charms.

If you were a ghost and you needed to communicate with the living, you could choose to speak through a medium such as Crossing Over host John Edward, or you could choose a lithe young stunner with breasts the size and consistency of honeydew melons. The choice is clear for the spooky spirits of Ghost Whisperer, who use Jennifer as their ghostly go between.

You can say what you want about Jennifer but she knows exactly why guys watch her shows and she made sure there was plenty of that on Ghost Whisperer or like the general populace called it Boob Whisperer. Heck, Saturday Night Live even made a sketch about the fact that the main focus of Ghost Whisperer was Jennifer Love Hewitt´s ample cleavage.

Speaking of fan service there was plenty of that on The Client List with which Jennifer Love Hewitt returned to tv screens. On the show she plays a hot housewife moonlighting as a hooker and her famous 38D funbags are practically her co - stars. Sadly the show only got two seasons but I still haven´t had time to watch it anyway. As one of the producers Jennifer had a big influence in casting her massage clients but of course some people complained that she casted too many hunks. Now I know acting is a job and heaven forbid we forget we are not supposed to have fun at work but if Jennifer has to put her hands on a guy what is the harm in making sure he´s good looking ? I don´t watch tv for realism and what would you rather see ? A fat, unattractive slob ( and I speak as one of the many fat, unattractive slobs ) getting a happy ending massage from a big breasted mega MILF like Jennifer with her hating every minute or Jennifer giving some hot stud a rub down and forgetting all of her inhibitions ?

38D mega MILF bra buster Jennifer Love Hewitt, affectionately called Jennifer Love Huge Tits by her fans, came by her anatomically accurate nickname as she soared to stardom on Fox's Party of Five in the '90s.

While still electrifying as a boob tube tease Jen has also ignited the big screen with her enormous talents. She provided the screams and launched a million cream dreams in I Know What You Did Last Summer ( 1997 ), and we all know what you did when you were alone with a copy of that flick.

Now one of Jennifer Love Hewitt´s most memorable performances was in Heartbreakers alongside Sigourney Weaver ( to whom we will come back in just a short moment ) where she nearly bursts through her barely there wardrobe especially the scene where she´s wearing a french maid outfit.

In Today´s Dearly Departed section we have Alan Rickman and one of the reasons why I love to do this part of the post is that there is always things I have completely forgotten. Which in this case is that he played Severus Snape in all of the Harry Potter movies. Man, it´s so weird that these movies are in the past for future generations who will probably see Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them and the following ones first.

Anyway, in the movies Severus Snape is really a very one dimensional character in the movies compared to the multi - layered version of the books. Which is why I can only urge everybody who loves the movies to read the books because there is so much cool stuff they had to let out.

Coming back to Alan Rickman, he has given us some of the best villains in movie history like the unforgettable Hans Gruber in Die Hard ( germans do make the best antagonists ), the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves with Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman and last but not least Elliott Marston in Quigley Down Under. Or how it is called in Germany Quigley The Australian ( Quigley der Australier ) which not only makes no sense - like most german titles for foreign films - it is completely wrong as Tom Selleck plays an american cowboy who travels TO Australia for a job. The movie also features the Busenwunder Laura San Giacomo .

The underrated living blow up sex doll template with the overdeveloped breasts never did porn although Laura clearly has the necessary superior physical attributes. Her mammoth 39E melons put other actresses busts to shame and even got top porn stars envious since Laura´s magnificent mammaries are all natural. Laura would have been one of the greats if she hadn´t dressed like a nun. She still couldn´t hide her XXL double airbags.

Alan Rickman also starred in the fantastic Bottle Shock based on true events and one of my guilty pleasures, Galaxy Quest which is the best Star Trek movie that is not a Star Trek movie alongside Tony Shaloub ( Monk ) and Tim Allen best known from the hit comedy show Home Improvement ( called Look Who´s Hammering There in Germany because the movie Look Who´s Talking was very successful in german film theaters at that time ).

The show also featured sexbomb Debbe Dunning who was destined to become a sex symbol as the double D is not only in her name. I cast her as Knockout in my JLA Redux post and she is also a top contender for the Top Ten Jessica Rabbit Lookalike Babes if I ever get around to write that post.

Debbe first had a guest appearance with a name that´s impossible to pronounce and a stunning blue dress before she became a permanent cast member, taking up the mantle of Pamela thanks to her bikini hardbody.

Pam is always portrayed as a dumb blonde but she and Debbe Dunning had the same starting conditions. Which were a certain degree of fame due to exposure on shows like Baywatch and Home Improvement and a body that could cause the number of sold copies of men´s magazines to skyrocket.

Still somehow Pamela has managed to make a successful career out of it while Debbe´s artistic highlight is Jessica Rabbit in Misery Brothers.

The most famous of a veritable plethora of incredibly hot women that went through the revolving casting doors of BAYWATCH is without any doubt Pamela Anderson and it is beyond belief that so far I have only mentioned her in the first ever Casting the Justice League of America movie post where I naturally cast her as Power Girl ( a role she was born to play ). Because Pam An was not only the very first candidate in my hugely popular SEARCH FOR POWER GIRL series over at my old boob - centric blog.

No, she also is on my TOP TEN MOVIE STRIPTEASE list thanks to her boner inducing wet & wild opening scene from the movie adaption of Dark Horse Comics BARB WIRE. Most of this was cut off in the german version which is one of the reason why the movie flopped so much in movie theaters while the video cassette of the original US version became such a huge success.

Anyway, I still intend to do posts for all of the striptease babes on my list but every year I have to postpone Pamela Anderson´s cult siren entry.

And for more on such baywatchable babes like Erika Eleniak ( who is of course most famous for her incredibly steamy striptease in UNDER SIEGE ), Krista Allen ( best remembered for getting her freak on as french blow up sex doll EMANUELLE in eight made for tv movies ) or natural born go go dancer Carmen Elektra check out my latest BAYWATCH SPIN  - OFF POST.

As for Debbe Dunning and her double Ds after a long dry spell she is currently on tv again with a series about the various Dude Ranches.

Coming back to Alan Rickman´s co stars on Galaxy Quest the film also features Sigourney Weaver as fan service provider Gwen DeMarco and she delivers one of the breast performances of her career with great gusto.

Sadly the breast parts of it were cut and can only be seen in the extras.

After this long excursion into the realm of tv, movies and cult sirens it´s time to bring it back to comics with Klaus Janson, inker extraordinaire on Frank Miller´s Daredevil, John Romita Jr.´s Punisher and other classics.

It´s also a welcome excuse to post another video with Comicbookgirl19.

She also has a review of the first season of Daredevil but I like this one better. Also I think at this point most everybody has seen the first season and the second season is so much better since we finally get the Daredevil costume and it also features the Punisher. If you haven´t seen any of the seasons I cannot recommend them highly enough since the producers of the series really know how to translate the characters from the comic books to tv. It´s no wonder that Punisher is everybody´s favorite show.

For some reason Disney has decided to cancel Daredevil but you should watch it nonetheless. I don´t want to say too much about season three because there might be people out there who have not seen it but it really shows how a criminal mastermind like the Kingpin would act. Which is a rare thing in Today´s tv shows where they are often just geniuses in name but not in their demeanor. Also I might write more about the third season if I do a post on Frank Miller and David Mazuchelli´s Born Again.

Since I mentioned J. K. Rowling´s Harry Potter movies I want to re - post former teenage Busenwunder Lindsay Lohan´s fantastic parody on SNL ( I put Lindsay as Supergirl in my Hollywood Edition of Casting a JLA Movie ).

It´s her best work and I never understood why Disney never made a Kim Possible movie with her since both of them peaked at the same time.

Although Disney shrank her perky peaks in the Herbie Reloaded movie.

It´s never going to be like in those days when Lindsay was at the height of her racktastic development and every horny shutin wanted to put her booming teenage body to the test and there was even a countdown on the internet for when it was legal to have wild sex with Lindsay Lohan.

In any case, here is Lindsay Lohan at her breast and I think Disney let a great opportunity pass. I know that there is a live action Kim Possible movie coming but Sadie Stanley can´t hold a candle to Lindsay Lohan.

I am skipping the music video for Today because with 10 videos we already have more than enough ( and I think that we had more than one music video in one of my last posts so it all balances out ) but I want to include another video from a cartoon series that I have not mentioned for a long time. In fact it has been so long that I completely forgot the title of it.

I don´t know what I have written in previous posts about Bob Morane but I think that a correction is in order. I might have said that the cartoon is based on the french comic books but my latest research suggests that it originally was a series of novels which are the basis for both - the comic books and the cartoon series. Unless somebody can tell me otherwise.
