Since I already included all the links to older Sal Buscema posts we can get right to the good stuff. Originally I wanted to do a post all about Sal´s stint on the book with inker Ernie Chan since that is my favorite period but then I found the complete original art for issue 273. And as longtime readers of this blog know it´s not often that you find a complete issue.
Okay, some of the original pages don´t have the best quality but it´s still a full issue. Now as usual I am trying to kill two gamma irradiated monsters with one stone so while this is a spotlight for Sal Buscema´s HULK run I also want to pimp the HULK - PARDONED trade. It´s the first part of a trilogy followed by HULK - REGRESSION and HULK - CROSSROADS. While not an Epic Collection these trades were the precedessors since they were just a bit below where page count and price point is concerned. Sadly I only bought the first one since the other two are now very hard to find.
The reason why I got the HULK - PARDONED trade first - besides the fact that it is the first one chronologically - is that this is one of my favorite periods of the book thanks to the always impeccable inks by Joe Sinnott ( as I explained in this post ). It is also a period that so far I have only read in the much maligned Condor pocket books. And I have to come to their defense here. Yes, the first years those came out they were badly glued and after a few readings you were left with a loose paper collection. But the later pocket books were glued much better and especially the ones with the HULK were the only way for me to enjoy Sal Buscema´s work.
Granted, the translations still were horrible and because of the small size 75 percent of the text was left out but I could at least appreciate the art and they are still a part of my comicbook collection. Now the last thing I want to say is that as coincidences would have it issue 273 is also a special issue. Issue 272 has just recently been re - released as a TRUE BELIEVERS one dollar special issue because it is the very start of this version of an intelligent Hulk. It happened in the midst of a three way brawl between the Wendigo on one side and Alpha Flight´s Sasquatch and the Hulk on the other side. During that melee a new version of the Hulk emerged with the powers of the Hulk but also the brains of Bruce Banner. Now if all that happened in the previous issue you may ask yourself why I am saying that this issue is also special ? That´s because while the intelligent Hulk first appeared last issue it was during a fight and we still don´t know if it will stick. If there has been one constant in the HULK series it´s change so this is the first issue where the new Hulk is really put to the test. It´s here where we find out if an intelligent Hulk can work within the Marvel universe. Anyway, without any further ado : let´s get ready to rumble !
There is a huge backlog of Hulk posts on my table and I don´t know if I ever get to do a second post about the HULK ESSENTIAL so I am putting the links I had saved for that post here. Which are two about the Hulk annual 7 written by Roger Stern, penciled by the great John Byrne and inked by Bob Layton on STARS AND GARTERS and BRONZE AGE BABIES .
Now usually I don´t have the time to go through the list of celebrity birthdays each year and have to rely on what I wrote in previous years - especially if I have between three and four weeks to catch up on - but since I have five days since my last post and these are split up between two posts I decided to give it the old once over. Which was a really great decision because it seems I didn´t write much about February the 13th which was the 37th birthday of french blow up sex doll Rheem, Reem or Reen Kerici or Kherici - the internet is not quite sure on this one. Who turns out to be a Nazi spy. Isn´t that always the case ? Yes, she´s evil but, god, that is some heavy ordnance she is carrying around. With such big DD twin torpedoes I bet her german code name is " Busenwunder ".

Another quintessential silver screen sexbomb anniversary I might have missed if I hadn´t gone through the list is Roberta Vasquez who turned 57.
The big breasted latina is well known to longtime readers from baring her breast ASSets in many Andy Sidaris movies in fact I cast her as Big Barda in the ANDY SIDARIS SPECIAL EDITION in the special Subzero bonus round of my Casting the Justice League of America movie series. And while I have not done a solo post for her - yet - she has been regularly mentioned in the original Dona Speir cult siren post and all subsequent re - posts of it.
Roberta Vasquez was born in Los Angeles, on February 13, 1963. She became Playmate of the Month for November 1984, her measurements then were 40DD - 25 - 36. She stood at 5'8", weighing 125lb, with some of the most perfect natural breasts to ever appear inside PLAYBOY magazine.
A former California Highway Patrolwoman, she ended up playing one in Clint Eastwood's 1990 film, THE ROOKIE. She was also featured in several Playmate compilation videos and publications, including WET AND WILD WOMEN ( July 1987 ) and 21 PLAYMATES COLLECTION VOLUME 2 ( 1996 ).
Roberta acted in several movies made by Andy Sidaris, in the late 1980s and early 1990s where she became the new co star opposite Dona Speir.
With her athletic frame and martial arts experience the gorgeous Vasquez is a natural action heroine and with her background in the force she is much more convincing as a federal agent than Dona´s previous on screen partner Hope Marie Carlton. All and all, if anyone had to replace Carlton, Vasquez was certainly a great choice, and her chemistry with both Speir and Bruce Penhall would only grow stronger with each subsequent picture.
And I just wrote a spin - off post with all the usual links to Janet Jones Gretzky and real live Power Girl Leslie Easterbrook who had the most famous scene in Police Academy 4 - Citizens on Patrol in which she emerges from a pool in a wet t - shirt. And while the obligatory Andy Sidaris actresses / playmates / sexbombs like Roberta Vasquez , Ava Cadell , brunette Cynthia Brimhall, Dona Speir , Julie Strain , Shae Marks , Julie K. Smith and Samantha Phillips are mentioned the main part is about blonde brabuster Monique Sluyter and the obligatory plethora of Tutti Frutti girls .
One of the main attractions of the game show Tutti Frutti was of course brabuster Monique Sluyter who not only had no problem taking off her clothes on tv she also often disrobed for various gentleman magazines.
Regular readers of this blog already know that I cast her as Fire a.k.a. Beatriz da Costa in the Andy Sidaris Special of my popular Casting the Justice League of America movie series and I also kept mentioning her in all kind of post like the annual re - posts about italian mega soccer MILF Simona Ventura until I decided to give Monique and the Tutti Frutti girls their own post which I re - posted in 2016 in a new and better version.
But the blow up sex doll from the Netherlands was not only in PLAYBOY multiple times she also was a big factor in my obsession on blondes with giant breast like Power Girl with her impersonation of Marilyn Monroe .
Now for the benefit of new readers who might have missed this I should probably explain what TUTTI FRUTTI was. There was a show called COLPO GROSSO from Italy with some dancers dressed as certain fruits who would dance to a special song and when the last refrain said " chin chin " they popped their tops and the candidates had to bet ( before they opened their tops ) if they had stickers of fruits on one of their breasts or not .
If they had fruits - or rather stickers with fruits - on them the candidates would win points and if they had enough of them they could get the Euro Girls ( which sounds much sluttier now as the official european currency is the Euro ), the women who represented the european nations to strip .
Who could get the most women the most naked was the winner and the points they would score were called country points or Länderpunkte, a word that has become a household expression in Germany. It´s not unusual to hear german tv viewers say : Well, we´re not going to see any Länderpunkte in this movie. Anyway, the show was done to promote the Ecu, the new currency for a United Europe ( no, that really didn´t work out that well ) but the important part was getting to see hot girls strip .
The show was adapted by various countries and it was called AY QUE CALOR in Spain and TUTTI FRUTTI in Germany. In Germany it was the show nobody watched ( or at least admitted watching ) but everybody saw .
Now usually I just include a short part with them in the posts but this time I did a somewhat longer version so I could include all the new download links I found while writing this post. I just recently included a whole slew of new ones but those are just for compilation and mixes while these new ones are not only for entire episodes - which are always ultra rare - but for german episodes which are even rarer . Some of them even include my favorite Tutti Frutti girl ( whom you can see just below ).
Coming back to Roberta Vasquez and the Andy Sidaris girls I found several videos but sadly none with Roberta so I will save them for their next birthday. But since I cast Roberta Vasquez as Big Barda here is a little video for all those people out there who only know the DC Comics movies ( the poor saps ) or the DC Comics tv shows ( the lucky fellows ) and have never heard of her or the glory that is Jack Kirby´s FOURTH WORLD saga.
Today´s birthdays start with an anniversary for my german readers as Andrea Lamar turns 52 - or 50 depending on which website you consult.
To Today´s television audience her name doesn´t mean much but for people of my generation who remember the time before tm3 became 9Live she brightened many days as one of the hosts of the call in show La Notte. As a testimony of that it was extremely difficult to find pictures of her. Andrea is still on tv but back in the day she was often hotter than the women who undressed on La Notte and we were waiting with bated breath to see her lean forward and reveal more of her spectacular breasts.
Of course with such a lot of sex appeal it was only a matter of time before Andrea Lamar tried her hand at acting and thanks to her perfect physique she even looked right at home on her guest stint on Die Rote Meile.
The series was named after the red light district of St. Pauli in Hamburg and was a sequel to The King of St. Pauli. It follows the lives of strippers, prostitutes and their pimps but they are all portrayed like regular people not like in american tv series where people from this walk of life are always portrayed as bad people. I remember an episode of a series about beach cops on bikes ( that sounds as action packed as it was ) with people from the porn industry and they also made them killers because all people in adult entertainment are horrible people. Anyway, I watched every episode of Die Rote Meile because they had a very easy concept : one strip in every episode which was not interrupted by commercials. I don´t know if they could do that Today as they put commercials into everything.
Even if they did not go totally topless - sometimes they had pasties on - I was glued to the tv watching such ultimate sexbombs like Yasmina Filali.
Daimn, that girl really has the prototype of the heart shaped ass. Longtime readers know that one of my pet pevees on this blog is celebrating all the brave actresses who turn insufferable dreck into bearable entertainment by taking their clothes off or at least show what their Mama gave them and who don´t get enough recognition for that . And there were some on Die Rote Meile as I found out when I tried to find the names of the best strippers. Yes, only the " real " actors are mentioned in the cast meaning those with a speaking part which tells you which place some women still occupy in Today´s society. So if anybody out there knows the name of the living blow up sex doll with the big melons below put it in the comments.
Anyway, one of the best strippers of the regular cast is Sylvia Leifheit who has a secret identity in the series as she plays the typical devoted wife by day, secret stripper by night. Sylvia made me realize two things : firstly, while I usually don´t go for skinny chicks she is just oozing so much sex appeal that I would do her in a minute. And second, hair color can really make a difference because her character in the series is actually a blonde and despite having the same figure as a blonde she´s kind of a - meh - looking girl while as Luna with the black wig she´s a real firecracker !
A few years back I got the complete first season of Die Rote Meile on DVD at amazon at a pretty decent price and I´m glad I seized the opportunity because it really goes for ridiculous prices now. I can really recommend this show and Sylvia Leifheit alone is worth the price of admission.
It´s always difficult to find a video that goes with Die Rote Meile and I didn´t want to go with another pole dance video from Dead Or Alive. But wouldn´t you know it, just when I thought I had run out of K - Pop videos for just such an Solar from Mamamoo shows superior pole dance skills.
In lieu of an animated pole dance I thought about what else would fit adult entertainment and strip bars so I am again pimping Heavy Metal.
Sadly I couldn´t find a clip with Taarna´s best scene in good quality but here´s her bar fight since bar fighting was a big thing on Die Rote Meile.
Since the clip above is a bit short I want to include a longer video and I just came across this Lost In Space special while finishing this post.
Bringing it back to comicbooks, one indication how underappreciated Sal Buscema´s HULK run still is is that I didn´t find any videos about it. But don´t fear mein Freund, I got some greenskinned goodness for you : not one but two of the Hulk´s biggest brawls illustrated by two of comicdom´s greatest artists, Jose Luis Garcia Lopez and Steve Rude " The Dude ".
