This is my fifth Curt Swan tribute post ( click here for the posts from 2017 / 2018 part one / 2018 part two / 2019 and 2020 ) so I guess I don´t have to write anything about how iconic his version of Superman was. Despite so many great writers and great artists that have worked on the character in his 80+ year history no matter what my personal favorites are the Curt Swan Superman will always be the first image that pops into my mind.
Which is why picking the art for this post was so difficult. There were so many good original art pages that it was difficult to bring it down to 23.
But as usual my latest bonus section has gotten way too long so I order to shorten the post I have to make another post and since there were a lot of pages I couldn´t fit into my last post I am putting them here. Which doesn´t mean that these are leftovers, quite the opposite. I would have posted them long ago if the usual restrictions hadn´t prevented me from doing so. Anyway, here they are and let´s all raise our glasses to the man, the myth, the legend that was Curt Swan. Godspeed and blue skies, Curt.
Because it´s been almost three weeks since our last post I am not even trying to address all the birthdays I missed. I´m also not going to go over the usual birthday lists to see if I missed somebody important as I have to do almost a whole month. What I will do instead is go over last year´s posts and address some important ones - as usual - and gloss over the rest.
I will however include the links to other posts where I have already covered them at length. We make our first stop on February the 20th ( don´t worry, we´ll get to the birthdays from February the 18th to February the 19th right after this ) with my favorite female ( retired ) wrestler, wrestling valet, model and hasian actress, the korean blow up sex doll Gail Kim who turned 44.
Gail Kim has been in a lot of different wrestling leagues and the first time I saw her was in the old ECW. She then went to the WWF before she arrived at iMPACT WRESTLING and for a while she did double duty at the WWE and IMPACT WRESTLING and I think at the moment she is officially retired from wrestling. At least I saw her give a farewell speech but in wrestling these career ends never last long. Except for those wrestlers you really want to come back. So maybe Gail Kim has really said goodbye to wrestling. In any case, I have always enjoyed her wrestling matches no matter if she played the good girl or the bad girl like when she returned to iMPACT WRESTLING.
I don´t know what it is about them but asian women are my kryptonite !
And I don´t want to resort to racial stereotypes but they just have the extra oomph that works better than viagra and makes you hear " Me so horny me love you long time ! " in your head. Gail Kim is a very gifted athlete - and I mean that without any pun - but when I see how worked up she gets in the ring, the fire in her eyes when she plays the heel or the kind of punishment her body can take and especially how flexible she is.
I mean which red blooded potent male doesn´t want to see Gail Kim as a naughty school girl, in a wet t - shirt or wearing her ass in a tiny thong ?
Now the name " Gail " sounds like " geil " the german word for horny.
So you can imagine that she´s known in Germany as die geile Kim ( horny Kim ). Like Kylie Minogue who has been christened die Geile Minogue.
Back to Gail Kim, I remember a fight where she stopped her guy ( I think it was the guy from Beer Money ) from beating up his opponent with a beer bottle by knocking him out. While Gail Kim was distracted Miss Jaqueline ( who really should have shown her huge rack more often ) clobbered her.
And all the time Gail Kim was getting some hits from her all I could do was stare at Gail´s round bubblebutt while....well, you can guess what I did.
By the way I have to give props to nubian sex goddess Jaqueline who seldom got as much play as she deserved for being an afro american wrestler with huge melons. She was one of the best contestants in the Miss Rumble Contest during the Royal Rumble in 2000 and her swimsuit barely covered anything and her giant 38E milkshakes were in full effect.
Also participating was Teri Runnels and not only did she wear a suit that left little to the imagination - her entire backside was practically naked - she also knew what the audience wanted and leaned wide over the top rope to the point where she almost fell off. Of course the WWE had to ruin the end - like they do in most bikini, swimsuit, wet t - shirt or other Diva contests that could arouse their audience - by bringing on some old wrestling fossils. I don´t know why they have to be such cockblockers.
Another great television moment in wrestling history had to do with the consequences of a fight in which Golddust lost Terri Runnels to Flying Brian Pillman and all the wrestling fans wishes came true when he made her wear a skimpy leather porn outfit. I don´t know if he really used Terri like a fillipino prostitute in his hotel room to vent his uncontrollable sexual stamina and nobody´s talking about it so we can get no real confirmation.
The line between manager, valet and sex slave has always been blurry in wrestling and it is a well known fact that Arne Anderson used Tylene Buck as his personal blow up sex doll because he claimed he could help her with her career and other members of the NWO - no pun intended - like Scott Hall frequently used all the valets for shall we say recreational purposes.

I don´t have to tell you what a talented and record breaking athlete Gail Kim is : she was the first WWE diva to win a championship in her first match which was a seven - woman battle royal, she became the first TNA women´s champion in a ten - woman gauntlet match and has held that title five times and was TNA Knockout Tag Team Champion with Madyson Rayne. She won the TNA Knockout of The Year Award in 2007 and was voted Queen of TNA in 2013. She also has been Funkin´ Conversatoy Women´s Champion and the Diva of the Year in 2001 at the Apocalypse Wrestling Federation. She´s the number one female wrestler in the world according to Pro Wrestling Illustrated and thousands of fans worldwide.
Speaking about asian sensations, besides her in ring abilities one of the main reasons why I miss Gail Kim are the photo shoots. Like Taryn Gail has done some nude pictures but I don´t think she has posed for PLAYBOY yet.
Now I am not sure if Gail Kim really retired because a. ) do wrestlers ever retire ? and b. ) even before my Mom came back from Spain I didn´t watch much wrestling and now that she is only waiting to leave the country she is constantly re - watching Kill Bill, the new Star Trek trilogy, Fringe, Rio Bravo, El Dorado and The Magnificent Seven. Which means I get almost no tv time except for one or two episodes of Arrow or Flash every other day.
So I don´t see any wrestling on tv and I also don´t have the time to follow Gail Kim´s exploits on the internet. Anyway, I know that not all of my blog followers use the links I include in my posts but even if you don´t go over all my old Gail Kim posts definitely check out last year´s Gail Kim birthday post which has lots of animated GIFs of Gail from her breast photoshoot.
We continue with the birthdays from the 18th of February to the 21st in this post which has the full original art of The Tomb Of Dracula issue 41.
We´ll have to pick up the celebrity birthdays in our next post. For Today I thought I could get a few Superman videos off my chest because this is my first Superman themed post in a long while. We start with an ironic video about how to start reading Superman comics - in Germany - while I had to say goodbye to reading comics. Or at least most of my comic collection.
Speaking of reading Superman, one of the best stories in Superman lore is " What´s so funny about truth, justice and the american way ? " written by Joe Kelly ( you can read more about his run on JLA in these posts ) and drawn by Doug Mahnke ( about whom you can read more in this post ) which I have mentioned previously. The story has also been adapted into an animated feature film called Superman vs the Elite and somewhat season four of the CW Supergirl series where they changed Manchester Black into a black guy. And I´m not sure if they just wanted to have more black representation or they just never bothered to read the comicbooks and just automatically thought that Manchester Black was a black dude.
Apropos reading Superman, maybe you have already read a Superman story without knowing it. Which sounds contradictory but let me explain. Since Superman was the first super hero he is the basis for a lot of heroes that came later up to the point where other companies swiped him - more or less blatant. One company who has done this most often is Marvel Comics.
By the way, Marvel Comics is NOT DC Comics " distinguished competition " but the other way around. When Stan Lee wanted to comment their rival company without sounding like he was trying to badmouth them he called them their " distinguished competition " which has the same initials like DC Comics. So all the comic fans knew exactly whom he was talking about.
From cheap imitations and knock - offs we come to the real deal, the true blue original, the gold standard, accept no substitutes, best version of Superman in live action. The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be. By the way, I have seen the first two episodes of Superman & Lois and as good as the actors are Christopher Reeve is still the best Superman and Teri Hatcher is still the best version of Lois Lane.
Last but not least we have a rare oddity, not because it´s the Superman 50th Anniversary Tv Special but because it´s hosted by comedian Dana Carvey of all people. I guess it is from his pre - Garth on Wayne´s World era. Does anybody know why they picked him ? Is he a big Superman or comicbook fan or was it just a contract thing and he needed the money ?
SECRET LEGION OF SQUIRT HEROES or HOW TO TAME YOUR SUPERBOY
I don´t know how I do it but even when I try to include sexbombs of different ethnicity I wind up with hasian blow up sex dolls. I was so sure that Stacy Shalene was an afro - american aphrodite - because that´s how she looks like in the first video - but she´s neither afro nor american. In the movie there would be a scene where Phantom Girl invites Superboy to a pool party in the Legion grotto. As Superboy arrives the only people at the party are Phantom Girl, Jenny Ognats, Shadow Lass and Princess Projectra - all wearing tiny micro bikinis with less fabric than shoelaces.
As he comments how uncomfortable their swimsuits make him the girls take them off with the explanation that in the 31st century nobody wears swimsuits anyway and that they only wore them for his benefit because they know how prude 21st century boys are when it comes to nudity.
Being confronted with so much unchecked nakedness Superboy gets a huge erection much to the delight of the girls who only got him to the pool to bang the living daylights out of him. He tries to resist their erotic advances but once Princess Projectra - who finished her tenure as oral priestess from the holy church of Deepthroatia Blowjoba Sukka Cum Louder - starts inhaling his super boner he´s done for. Of course you couldn´t read more about these uninhibited milking orgies in the Legion of Super - Heroes comicbooks but readers of issue one of Versaute Bettgeschichten got a little taste of it in the bonus section ( I didn´t have a full story on it because I was pressed for time ) and those who were lucky enough to buy the second issue got two additional pin ups of the nymphomanic female members of the Legion of Super - Heroes.
Now that was a totally unscheduled sidebar and maybe I can write some more about this in another post. Maybe even add some of the pin ups I mentioned although that could be tricky as they are definitely not SFW.
Man, I´m trying to wrap up this post - which was only supposed to be a quick post anyway - but the harder I try to the longer it gets ( no pun intended ). Be that as it may, this is my not - so - elegant segueway to another episode of Creature Features which has Butch Patrick as a guest star whom people from my generation may remember as Eddie Munster from the cult show The Munsters. The movie in this episode is Teenagers From Outer Space which is basically the premise of the Legion of Super - Heroes. Well, that plus aliens, super powers, space bikinis and time travel.
Staying with the science fiction theme we have a video about the application of light in one of the best animated science fiction movies.
Since I mentioned Kylie Minogue in this post here is one of the few surviving episodes of Top Of The Pops which details Kylie´s rise to stardom. And as longtime followers of the blog know I have to bring up Mtv vj Steve Blaine who predicted that Kylie Minogue was just a one hit wonder and flash in the pan who would never have a long music career.
Since I´ll be back at mi tierra in just a few weeks ( hopefully ) here is die Geile Minogue on El Hormiguero, one of my favorite shows on spanish tv.
