Superpower Saturday with Resurrection Man

Since I mentioned RESURRECTION MAN, one of my favourite series of all times in our last DC COMICS MONTH post we are continuing our tribute to the late great Jackson Guice with some selected art from this brilliant series which also serves to finally upload some non - Superman related content. Also he does make two appearances in this series. You will see.

Now I have already written about Jackson Guice's artwork in our last post and I have been thinking about why it clicked with me in this comicbook.

Maybe it was that at the time it came out I had gotten deeper down the Joe Kubert rabbit hole ( newer blog visitors might want to check out my Joe Kubert posts from 2016 , 2018 and 2023 ) and grown to appreciate his artwork that much more and maybe it's just me but I can see a lot of Joe Kubert's influences in Jackson Guice's art on RESURRECTION MAN.

And yup, that's Tommy Monaghan from Garth Ennis and John McCrea's HITMAN series himself who makes an appearance in issues 9 and 10 of RESURRECTION MAN and you can read more about them in my John McCrea post and I hope all my followers in Spain who are interested in HITMAN got the first omnibus when it was offered at amazon Spain for a measly 38 bucks ( ! ) since it has definitely gone up in price since then.

Now since we already used some original Jackson Guice artwork from RESURRECTION MAN in my last post I was a few pictures short of the obligatory 23 pictures per post quota so I went back to find a few pages to add that showcase his amazing abilities but as usual I ended up with way too many pages so there'll be definitely a second part to this post.

As for the story of RESURRECTION MAN there is always a delicate balance to maintain between giving my readers just enough information to make them interested enough to pick it up while at the same time avoiding to spoil major plot points. Believe me, there are many unexpected turns, reversals and reveals in this one. So the only thing I am going to tell you is what I knew going in, namely that the main character is Mitch Shelley, a man who has lost his memory and discovers that not only does he come to live again each time he dies, he's resurrected with a new superpower.

he's dying to save you
