It´s an asian sensation at Minka Monday !

Today South Korean adult model / exotic dancer / porn star Minka a.k.a. the asian woman with the largest breasts in the world ( 55KK ) turns 50.

And since it has been four years since I wrote her original cult siren entry I thought it´s time for a re - post. But more than a re - post this is actually an updated version since I didn´t write that much about Minka in the initial post. Speaking of breaking up things, while I like to have a theme in the bonus section I don´t want to have too many videos that are similar and I like to cover different things or genres. For Today´s movie discussion we turn to the adaption of the Alita - Battle Angel manga. There have been quite a few manga into movie adaptions in the last few years - because basically Hollywood has run out of ideas - and one thing americans always do when adapting foreign movies, books or comicbooks for the american audience is changing everything to american.

I have never understood why that has to be because I think it is more exciting to experience life somewhere else. So when you just change everything to how it is in America you take away a big part of the appeal of the story. Anyway, I have only seen parts of the movie but what I have seen so far was interesting. Of course the SJWs are crying bloody murder because the big eye thing and Alita being turned into basically a sex doll.

Which is a big part of the underlying themes of the manga series : the gender roles people try to force on Alita and her fight to emancipate herself from them and get to define for herself what she wants to be. But hey, why ruin a movie experience by reading the original source material ?



On the other side we have one of the most american tv shows with Rawhide starring Dirty Harry Clint Eastwood during his younger days.



Closing out things for Today - and I can´t believe that I managed to do a done in one even with finding a lot of pictures AFTER I started writing the post - is the anime Dark Cat because I already posted the full animated Alita - Battle Angel movie in a previous post and also because it is more explicit so I didn´t want to include it in my comicbook related posts.

The Heck with it - Wonder Woman Friday !

Once again I am running late but better late than never. And I´m not only saying that because Don Heck´s anniversary was on Thursday but also because I wanted to start with this post at twelve. Anyway, Today I wanted to pay homage to Don Heck´s long stint on WONDER WOMAN. 

It seems that my Don Heck posts are always unscheduled. This time I had just looked up some of his art on the internet so I can put something adequate in my last post but after putting all the unused material in the folder I decided to write a post before I run out of all the good stuff.

Anyway, as longtime readers of this blog know one of my pet peeves is to spotlight artists who are underappreciated, undervalued or underrated, in short any creators where I think they undeservedly got the short end of the stick. I also mentioned that in my opinion Don Heck is such an artist because for most people he is just the guy who drew IRON MAN until Gene Colan took on the title or AVENGERS until John Buscema took over. Most people forget that he did not only solid artwork but he also drew some of the sexiest babes in comics ( which was one of the reasons why he got such high profile titles ) and he also did a lot of work for DC on titles like TEEN TITANS, AQUAMAN, BATMAN or THE JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA.

Now my last Don Heck post was all about Iron Man but since I used up a lot of the original art I had assembled I would have had to resort to all the german pages I got left. Which are not that good where the quality is concerned ( sorry, good scans of german comics from my youth are hard to come by ) and it would have been too similar to my first Don Heck post.

So instead I was thinking about doing an AVENGERS / WONDER WOMAN double feature but then I found enough original art for a WONDER WOMAN solo post. We have had a lot of Marvel stuff in our last posts and because I like to switch things up here we are with a post about Diana. At first this was going to be a BLACK AND WHITE only post but I couldn´t resist the chance to post some Don Heck WONDER WOMAN pages with the Titans.

As the more frequent blog visitors may have noticed I like to group the material in my posts so aside from a few scattered pages of original art we have two big chunks : one is the aforementioned Wonder Woman / Teen Titans team up from WONDER WOMAN 287 and the other one is from WONDER WOMAN 206. Which is a classic issue because it contains - well, not the first appearance of Nubia because that was in issue 204 ( which is the only WONDER WOMAN cover by Don Heck, only for those wondering why the cover at the top is not from any of the issues by Don Heck in this post ). No, issue 206 had the reveal that Nubia is actually Wonder Woman´s sister. The other reason why this issue is so well known is the beautiful cover by Nick Cardy which pops up in most discussions about Nubia.

Yep, DC Comics already had a black Wonder Woman back in 1973. Take that SJWs ! And before you all come s - word storming at me for using the term " black Wonder Woman " instead of " afro - american Wonder Woman " the reason why I can´t use the latter term is that Nubia is neither " afro " nor " american " since she doesn´t hail neither from Africa nor from America.

 
With her origin you could argue that she is from Themyscaria but since the women there seem to stem from a variety of racial backgrounds that does not really help to narrow it down. Also since she was formed out of clay like Wonder Woman she technically was not born like humans so the whole gender / skin color / race profiling / stereotyping thing doesn´t apply.

Man, reading comicbooks really were simpler back then. Despite the groundbreaking idea of a black Wonder Woman Nubia didn´t get a lot of play : she is introduced in issue 204, missing for most of issue 205 and after the obligatory fight against Wonder Woman and team up against Ares in issue 206 that´s all she wrote. Now unlike the AVENGERS stuff by Don Heck his WONDER WOMAN issues have not been reprinted yet so finding good scans was difficult. As always I did my best so I hope my readers will give me some leeway. And since I had to change my original plans there is still enough material for another AVENGERS / WONDER WOMAN or even AQUAMAN / WONDER WOMAN post left. Meanwhile on Paradise Island ...

With no links for this post we start with the celebrity birthdays and I think it is kind of fitting that the first one is voluptuous vixen Victoria Principal who turned 70 on January the 3rd because she was one of the biggest tv sex symbols on tv during Don Heck´s run on Wonder Woman. I. , Simon & Simon, Knight Rider but most importantly The Fall Guy with my all time tv crush Markie Post .

Longtime readers know that while Markie Post was practically in everything that was on tv in the 70s and 80s she became one of my ultimate sex phantasies on the show The Fall Guy which every male that was alive in the 80s remembers - and we will get to the reason why.

Markie Post played bail bonds contractor Terri Michaels ( who replaced previous bail bonds contractor Samantha Jack played by Jo Ann Pflug ) beginning with Season 2 and at the beginning she played a minor role.

But Markie Post knew that she was destined to super stardom, so when the opportunity arose that one of the producers of the show who was a bit smitten with Markie appeared on the set she managed to set up a few meetings - just to discuss her role of course. 80s Power Girl Markie Post is probably the best known cult siren on the blog because not only have I done many re - posts of her original post .

I also keep mentioning her in other posts and her original post is in the Top Ten Posts widget that appears on every post. Since I have done so many different versions it is not so tragic that I did not do a re - post last year even though I did the last version of her cult siren entry in 2016 .

Now while I have run out of episodes of The Fall Guy there is something else connected with Markie Post I want to include. You see Markie is not actually in it but it stars Richard Moll who - before a gazillion voice acting gigs on apparently every cartoon show there is ( I´m not kidding, if you have a few hours time just go over his imdb page ) - was one of the cast members of Night Court alongside Harry Anderson, John Laroquette and Markie Post. Markie played public defender Christine Sullivan who was always covered up except for a few occassions like the famous episode 17 from season 4 called Christine´s Friend where Markie wore a dress with a plunging cleavage more than worthy of Power Girl´s magical boob window.



Anyway, Richard Moll played Nostradamus " Bull " Shannon on Night Court and he is the antagonist in House which is a cult classic horror film. I know that Halloween is over but if you haven´t seen it or never heard of the movie you must check it out, it´s one of the best horror flicks I´ve seen.



This wraps up our list for Today but for those who want more there is an eclectic selection of anniversaries from January the 2nd up until the 14th in my post on issue 10 of Mark Waid and George Perez´ brilliant run on THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD so I guess I will include this link in all of the posts until the 14th. Which will be right around when the last two episodes of the CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS air, right ? We start the extremely short video section ( since I could already check a few categories from my usual list with the birthday related videos ) with a return to more horror stuff.

At first I wanted to include another SY FY channel video about another 80s cartoon show but then I thought : " Why not include a video where the person who made it actually LIKES the topic instead of just doing snide remarks ? " There also is a new animated Wonder Woman movie out but after watching the trailer it looks like a bad remake of the first animated Wonder Woman movie. And can we please get rid of the New52 costumes now that they have finally come to their senses in the DC comicbooks ?

Then I found a video about Challenge of the Super Friends that paints the show in a positive way but since it is too similar to our next video - which was chosen before any of the other videos in this post - I decided to go with a trailer for an animated movie that actually seems to care about the original source material. Plus it looks like this movie is actually a lot of fun.



Right from when I knew which pages were going to be part of this post I knew that I just had to include a video about Nubia´s all too brief story in comicbooks just in case somebody still thinks I am making this stuff up.



Today´s music videos are a callback to my latest cosplay girls appreciation post in which I wrote about Hyuna´s recent wardrobe malfunction where she exposed her stunning 36B - 23 - 34 weapons of mass seduction to a delighted audience during a concert ( and you can find more animated GIFs and videos of Hyuna´s brief wardrobe malfunction in that post ).
