Continuing the month of Shocktober we have another first with Marvel Comics lycantropic Bronze Age comicbook series WEREWOLF BY NIGHT.
Usually I like to regale my faithful followers with funny anecdotes from my adventures in comicbook reading but to tell you the truth WEREWOLF BY NIGHT was always one of the books that didn't get on my reading pile.
Maybe because it was not amongst the books that were translated to german by publisher Williams Verlag during my misspent youth since it lacked the " brand recognition " of other classic movie monsters Marvel Comics adapted as a comic like Dracula or the monster of Frankenstein.
And it's not like there artists who worked on the book were not top notch since the list includes illustrious comicbook icons like Gil Kane , Mike Ploog, Tom Sutton or Don Perlin. But be that as it may the only thing that I got of WEREWOLF BY NIGHT was one of the ESSENTIAL phone books and since it was one of the later volumes it was " monster of the week " - ish.
In any case, when I was thinking about which Marvel Comic to pick for my next post I went over the stuff in my MARVEL HORROR folder and the ones that really piqued my interest were those for WEREWOLF BY NIGHT.
So this being a first I went with it especially since it gave me a chance to put some of those werewolf videos on the blog that always keep piling up something which I normally only can do in my DYLAN DOG spotlights.
