It's a bloodsucking Sunday with Vampirella !

The best laid plans of mice and men count for naught as life is what happens while you are making other plans and so what was supposed to become a regular series on the blog has been postponed for more almost two years. But better late than never as the wise men say so we return to the premiere comic vamp - who basically invented the string bikini.

That's right fiends and ghouls, I am talking about Vampirella and as my regular visitors may recall I did the last post about her - which was to be only the first of many - on November in 2022 right AFTER Halloween.

This year I wanted to do something special for that holiday instead of the obligatory EC Comics Halloween post - which I still might write if I can get enough original art from their horror mags for a full blown post - and since it has been almost two years since my last Vampirella post my readers are more than overdue for more voluptuous vampire goodness.

One of the posts that I had planned was an all cosplay post with all the hot Vampirella cosplay blow up sex dolls out there and as I related in the previous Vampirella spotlight post that became a bit difficult after I lost my entire picture archive - twice. I have since then stocked up quite a bit so that may be a possibility especially in light of my OneDrive not giving me any grief lately after I began to ignore its constant warnings that it will be full now and I will not be able to use any more pictures.

I also mentioned in my previous post that I might do a special Vampirella post for Terry Dodson or if I don't find enough Vampirella material for a separate post at least a Terry Dodson post with a lot of Vampirella art.

Neither of which has happened but you never know what the future may hold. Now continuing with the genesis of this post as usual I went on the internet to do my research so I can be sure to offer my faithful followers the best material available. Which is the reason why a lot of the artwork in this post also includes the information about which artist did the art and where is published as I happened across THE ART OF VAMPIRELLA.

Besides giving me countless new art pieces this book by Dynamite Publishing also provided me with new high quality versions of some pieces that I had already included in previous posts which makes this a Best Of The Breast post and since in our last Vampirella spotlight post our focus was more on the classic era when Vampirella first surfaced at Warren Publishing in this post we are going from the relaunch by Harris Comics who were the first to publish new Vampirella content in decades.

It was difficult to bring it down to just 23 pieces of art but of course I had to begin with the artist who started it all since Adam Hughes is not only a personal favourite of mine as well as comic fandom at large but he literally did the first covers for Harris Comics new Vampirella title.

Which alone were worth the price of admission. Another Vampirella must have is Mark Texeira who only did a few Vampirella books but the ones he did are indispensable for any fan of Vampirella. He also did issues of Pantha but I am saving them for my next Mark Texeira spotlight post .

Which hopefully will be very soon. Speaking of indispensable Vampirella artists, who is not featured in this post is Joe Jusko who for me always was kind of the bridge between the classic era of Vampirella and the more modern one and it is not because I don't adore his artwork or he is not worthy to be in this work. But the sheer amount of work he did on Vampirella alone demands a post of his own. Anyway, I am not going into detail about every artist in this post since most of my longtime readers will probably recognize them as I have included a few of my personal favourites and I am hoping to do a follow up Vampirella post very soon.
