Also so far I have only done two Adam Hughes spotlight posts : one in 2019 and one in 2020 . Now seeing how this is my third Adam Hughes spotlight post I can skip the part where I rant about Today´s comicbook industry and the sick and twisted image of women they portray which is a win - win situation because my readers don´t have to go through a boring rant ( but if they want that they can check out my first two Adam Hughes posts ) and I can get right to the interesting stuff.

In this case I could swear I have gone through the complicated history of the Ghostbusters movies, live action tv and cartoon shows just recently when in fact it was back in 2016 in my post on the second part of the Emergency Stop storyline by Grant Morrison ( who also wrote such great comicbooks like ANIMAL MAN or ALL STAR SUPERMAN ) , Mark Millar ( whose comic projects have been turned into multiple movie franchises from KICKASS to KINGSMAN and you can find a more detailed rundown of his greatest hits in my tribute post from 2020 ) and artist Paul Ryan as part of my weekly FLASH FRIDAY series .
Usually I would include the links for all of my FLASH FRIDAY posts but since I already did that in my upcoming Matt Wagner DC Comics tribute post and am likely to also put them in my - as yet still unfinished - next post which will be a SANDMAN by Neil Gaiman post in lieu of the new Sandman tv show I think we can skip that part Today. What we can't skip is Saturday Morning Breakfast Mix video about The Real Ghostbusters cartoon which was based on a movie which was based on a tv show. And to make things more interesting when the people behind the movies let a different company than the one from which they licensed the rights for the movie make the cartoon they made another Ghostbusters cartoon based on the original tv show. And we are not even touching on Extreme Ghostbusters. And you thought reading comicbooks was complicated.
Whenever I can I include a full episode of the cartoon that is discussed in these review videos - if available in good quality - and in this case I even had to replace the video. Which in hindsight worked out for the best since this video is of much higher quality that the one I originally posted.
We come to more grown up horror fare with 1997's The Night Flyer which is another Stephen King adaption of which we had a few on the blog in the last months. Not that I think it is a bad thing but it's an interesting trend. Because for the casual reader it might seem that my appreciation of Stephen King has grown but the truth is I have always been a huge fan of his work ( I had the uncut trade paperback of THE STAND which I re - read every time I came back to Spain but sadly like most of my earthly possessions it has ended up in the trash bin ) and I can only include these videos when there are some. So if anything it is other people or the population in general whose appreciation of Stephen King has grown.
Be that as it may not only is The Night Flyer an underappreciated horror gem the reason why it's worth checking out is the brilliant performance of the late Miguel Ferrer - best known for movies like Robocop, Point Of No Return ( with skintastic 34B - 26 - 33 Olivia D'Abo who got naked in Bolero alongside perfect 40C - 22 - 36 wet sex dream Bo Derek while still being underage ), Hot Shots ! Speaking of horror made in Germany, I have to pimp Weissblech Comics Hammerharte Horrorschocker of which a GRATIS COMIC TAG edition was available this year - as in most years before. Man, I had the complete run - even the issues that are out of print now - and it hurts my soul to think that I practically gave them all away for nothing just to prevent that they end up in a trash bin. At the moment I have only a few of the newer issues and the special hardcover edition Zombies Behind The Dyke ( dyke as in the embarkment to save you from floods not the lesbian ).
But maybe if I finally get all of my papers sorted out - which with the spanish bureaucracy can only take several decades - and have some kind of income I can buy the trade paperbacks that reprint the entire series.
From german comicbooks we come to another horror cult icon but of the more sexy undertones that sends shivers down our ... well, not the spine but another body part ... with another instalment of 42E - 21 - 37 horror hostess with the mostess Cassandra Peterson a. k. a. Elvira Mistress Of The Dark's Netflix & Chills ( which I promised to post more frequently ).
For my spanish audience I am including Estela Naiad's ( who pulls off an impressive Elvira cosplay by the way ) video about Cassandra Peterson's life and if you want to check out her channel be ready for some real horror because it's mostly about crime cases and supernatural events.
Elvira is one of the famous Busenwunder on the blog where I always tell myself that I have to do an updated version of her cult siren entry - especially around Halloween which really should be just called Elvira's Christmas by now - but never get around to actually do it. As for comics with Elvira, The Mistress Of The Dark I never had any of the classic ones just a few of the issues from Claypool Comics and I had started to read the newest series from Dynamite Entertainment because I decided that I need more Elvira in my life. But as the series progressed more and more of the issues were left out of the orders in favour of more important series so some huge gaps were building. Then I had to sell my entire comicbook collection and I haven't had time to get any new issues with her since. One of these days I'll have to check them out on the internet.
Speaking of cult horror, we continue our Kolchak series with The Night Strangler from 1973, the second tv movie after The Night Stalker which finally got the ongoing tv series grenlit courtesy of Creature Features.
What I like about this channel - besides the fact that you get to see cult classics in high quality - is that even if you have already seen the feature film it's worth watching again for the presentation and guests like Jim Bell former project manager of George Lucas' famous Skywalker Ranch.
Apropos creature features, since I already mentioned Inside Of You Today's episode features contortionist Doug Jones best known for his collaborations with director Guillermo Del Toro on such films like Mimic, Hellboy, Hellboy : The Golden Army and Pan's Labyrith but who has also appeared in such comicbook movies as Tank Girl, Fantastic Four : Rise Of The Silver Surfer, Batman Returns, Mystery Men and also Men In Black II.

Next we have the tv movie Party Time With Frankenstein - original title Frankenstein - The College Years - a.k.a. Frankenstein En La Universidad in Spain from 1991 and the only name from the cast I recognize is Andrea Hope Elson best known as Lynn Tanner on the late 80s / 90s sitcom ALF.
Going back 25 years we go from Frankenstein to Frank Munster with a full episode of La Familia Monster how the Munsters are called in Spain.
Speaking of horror classics, spanish comic blog Viñetas ( Panels ) takes a look at Dylan Dog written by Tiziano Sclavi and illustrated by a rotating cast of artists, the most popular comicbook in Italy. I'm not kidding even famous writer Umberto Eco cited it as one of the three books he reads on a daily basis together with the works of Homer ( the writer of the Iliad not the Dad from The Simpsons ) and the bible. Published by the publishing house Sergio Bonelli Editore - together with Tex, Nathan Never and Martin Mystere - the comicbook has not only been the basis for the movie Dellamorte, Dellamore ( american title Cemetery Man ) with Rupert Everett ( who in turn was the inspiration for the look of the main character in Dylan Dog ) it also was a very big inspiration for Mike Mignola's Hellboy and there also is a movie adaption with Brandon Routh.
