After two Christmas themed posts I wanted to take a break and instead do a post that has been a long time coming. Regular visitors know that I often say that some posts lead to other posts and while I was looking for the color pages of the Christmas story " Hot Dog With Relish " from SABRINA`S CHRISTMAS MAGIC 196 I found a lot of Dan DeCarlo´s gag illustrations from various humor magazines featuring stunning females.

Most people only know Dan DeCarlo from his work on ARCHIE where he not only developed the new, modernized look in the late 50s and early 60s which established the company´s house style he also co - created Sabrina, The Teenage Witch ( which has been turned into three cartoon series and two live action tv series ), Josie And The Pussycats ( who also had their own cartoon show, a live action movie in 2001 and recently appeared on Riverdale ) and Cheryl Blossom ( who also is on the tv show Riverdale ).

But Dan DeCarlo got his start at Atlas Comics ( the later Marvel Comics ) where the only work he got at first was the teen - humour series Jeanie until Stan Lee put him on Millie The Model where Dan´s knack for drawing the female form turned it into a very successful title and Dan DeCarlo stayed on the title for an atypical long 10 year run from issue 18 until 93.

He also worked with Stan Lee on a short lived newspaper comic strip Willie Lumpkin which Stan Lee never got tired of mentioning. I don´t know if it was Stan Lee´s usual habit of poking fun at himself at work but he must have had a fondness for old Willie since he became a supporting character on THE FANTASTIC FOUR as Marvel´s first family´s mailman.

You see ? It all comes back to super heroes. Anyway, around the same time Dan DeCarlo also drew a lot of pin up cartoons for Atlas Comic´s publisher Martin Goodman´s line of Humorama digest which is what this post is all about. So far I hadn´t done a post because I didn´t have enough good cartoons for a full post but - as I  said in the introduction - just the other day I found a lot of very good ones over at HERITAGE AUCTIONS and other websites so I wanted to get this post of my chest before this year is over.

Speaking of women who are a work of art, from Today´s anniversaries I just have to mention Joan Severance who celebrates her 62nd birthday and who finally got her cult siren entry in 2018 ( which contains another anniversary from Today ).

So far I had only mentioned Joan Severance as part of the cast of See No Evil Hear No Evil. The movie is not one of the better Gene Wilder movies, but it is still shown on tv and I guess it is mostly for the scene where Joan is topless in the shower. And I´m not saying naked because while Joan technically is naked in the scene we never get to see her lower body.

Now I´m not so sure about Illicit Behaviour. It´s a crime story but it has been some time since I saw it and I couldn´t find reliable info on the web.

What is sure is that Jack Scalia plays her husband, a cop suspended for use of excessive force who takes his frustration out on her ( in the bedroom if he has half a brain ). Now either she turns to two other cops for help who then start slam - banging her brains out or she tricks her husband into killing her brother and then dicktames a guy from internal affairs to kill her husband. The thing with her brother is that when they were teenagers he started using his sister as his private blow up sex doll and she can´t get him to stop. So every time he´s in town he hammers Joan like a cheap prostitute just for old times sake - if she wants it or not. Naturally her hubby´s not too thrilled that her brother is wearing out his favorite sextoy and kills him. I think she then tries to get the insurance money for her husband ( if it´s the movie where she gets double teamed by the cops she asked for help ) or the insurance money and the inheritance.

By the way, the threeway romp in the movie where she asks two cops for help ( whichever movie that may be ) was not in the script but Joan got the guys so horny they could not help themselves. The director decided to change the script accordingly - after a substantial bribe by the two actors which involved sexual favors with big breasted relatives - so the perverts could drill Joan in front of the camera to their hearts content.

Supposedly they continued this after shooting was finished for the day and soon poor Joan was sexually assaulted in her trailer on a daily basis.

She tried to fight them off but by this time her third male co - star joined in on the fun and she was simply overpowered. Joan was helpless and had to spread her legs wide for a beating by three giant pulsating schlongs.

Back to Black Scorpion, both movies still were successful enough - after running on Showtime they naturally made more money in video sales - that they turned it into a tv series. There are between one and three hot pursuits ( always with lots of explosions ) and following the old Andy Sidaris formula all female roles are played by playmates like Patricia Ford, nubian sex goddess Traci Banghim , Lisa Boyle ( 17 in the series ), Athena Massey or the always present 90s soft sex legend Shannon Whirry .

Coming back to the Black Scorpion tv series for the fans of comics there are also guest appearances by Adam West, Sam Jones or Lou Ferrigno.

Since Joan Severance was not interested in reprising her role of Black Scorpion Roger Corman tried to get Julie Strain but it seems the tv guys knew all of her naughty movies ( who would have thought ) so the former Miss Kansas Michelle Lintel was cast who didn´t have Julie Strain´s box office pull - or her measurements - but who seems much more sympatico.

And for those that moan about me bringing up Julie Strain in a comicbook blog and think it is only because of her connection to Andy Sidaris movies I want to mention that the 41D Penthouse Pet Of The Year 1993 not only starred in over 100 movies, she was also married to Kevin Eastman who created the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES with Peter Laird and was Editor in Chief of HEAVY METAL.  Plus she was the inspiration for the main character in the 2000 animated HEAVY METAL movie sequel F.A.K.K. 2.

I know that Today´s audience prefers the computer generated 3D stuff but if you are not averse to good old hand drawn animation here are seven additional classic movies and tv shows besides Heavy Metal from a time when " adult animation " didn´t automatically mean anime or hentai.

Not because I want to dis him but because some countries - like Germany - dub their cartoons. So unless you watch american cartoons in the original version you won´t be familiar with Clancy Brown´s voice that he has lent to such shows like Gargoyles, Batman Beyond, Big Guy & Rusty The Robot, The Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, SpongeBob Squarepants, Teen Titans, Jackie Chan Adventures, Avatar - The Last Airbender, The Legend Of Korra, Ben 10, Kim Possible, Biker Mice From Mars, Wolverine And The X - Men, Batman : The Brave And The Bold, Thundercats, Young Justice, Green Lantern, Avengers : Earth´s Mightiest Heroes, Scooby Doo - Mystery Incorporated, Transformers Prime, Kung Fu Panda : Legends Of Awesomeness, Doom Patrol, Archer, Axe Cop or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And these are only the highlights. Now while some people may not know his voice he also appeared in tv series like Tales From The Crypt, Star Trek : Enterprise, Daredevil, Punisher, Sleepy Hollow, The Flash and The Mandalorian or movies like Buckaroo Banzai, Highlander, Pet Sematary II, The Shawshank Redemption, Starship Troopers or Cowboys & Aliens.

Before my readers forget that this blog is supposed to be about comics here are some things about Dan DeCarlo co - creation Sabrina, The Teenage Witch you might not know if you have only seen her in the new woke feminist crap - fest. My favorite part was when she decided to take down satan, not because he´s evil but because he - a man - expected her - a woman - to serve him. Oh, the audacity ! That sucker is going down !

Speaking of Dan DeCarlo co - creations, regular visitors know that I mentioned the Josie And The Pussycats movie before. I am not sure if I have actually seen it but apparently the movie was so ahead of its time that the nuanced underlying anti establishment message went right over everybody´s head. Yup, it seems that unless you use a crowbar to get your message along - like in Star Wars : Attack Of The Clones - nobody gets it.

Right now I am slowly coming to terms that I have to let go of most of my comicbooks and one thing that I begrudgingly put on the chopping block is Darwyn Cooke´s The New Frontier. Not because I don´t like it - it´s one of my favorite comic series that I have already re - read a few times - but because this is one of these instances where I prefer to upgrade my comic collection. There are a few collected editions including Absolute Editions that I am anxious to get my hands on. The only question is if I can get it in Spain since I have already seen that they don´t sell any Artist´s Editions.

We start the Christmas themed videos with Viaje Al Centro De La Tele, a tv program narrated by Santiago Segura ( best known for his Torrente movies ) that takes a nostalgic look at the history of spanish tv shows.

Since I missed a lot of that it´s a show I really enjoy ( I only wish they would show more ultimate spanish sexbombs ) so let´s hope the video stays longer on YouTube than the last episodes of the show I bookmarked.

A rare find is Christmas In Vienna, a concert with wonderful Diana Ross from 1992 with the participation of Jose Carreras and Placido Domingo.

Although the two times I looked at prices I was near the airport so that may be the reason. But for me it looked like you can´t get a decent meal at the spanish McDonalds for under 8 bucks while in Germany you can get one starting with 5 or 6.

Speaking of fast food, here´s a documentary about the late Jim Varney who was a down on his luck comedian and actor who created his now famous Ernest P. Worrell persona for a few commercials and became the first viral star. He was so famous that Disney decided to create movies with him. Jim was a national treasure and is sadly still underrated.

Now to fit with the season I should probably have posted Ernest Saves Christmas but I already included the movie in a previous post and it currently not on YouTube anyway. So here is Slam Dunk Ernest instead.

For Today´s cartoon video I chose an episode of Josie And The Pussycats and I´m going with the latino dubbing because the quality is better.

At this time of the year my thoughts go back to my late brother and the many things he introduced me to like the wonder that was Bob Ross.
