It´s a Spitfire Saturday with Frank Robbins !

Still trying to finish up my latest post. But while looking for some pictures I found original art from Marvel Comics´ INVADERS series by Frank Robbins which reminded me that I never got around to write that Invaders post, did I ? Plus it would not be a bad idea to cut some parts from the other posts which have gotten to long. So let´s travel back in time to World War II with Captain America and his patriotic pals, the invincible Invaders.

Now a big part of the reason why I decided to do this post even though I still have five posts to finish ( besides the fact that I´m crazy ) is that over the last years I have become a big fan of Frank Robbins. Regular blog followers may remember that I wrote a HOUSE OF MYSTERY spotlight post for him in April of 2020 and most of the art in my MAN FROM ATLANTIS MONDAY post is also by Frank. I almost bought the CLASSIC INVADERS trade paperbacks but then I had to move to Spain and now they have gone up in price. I still would prefer to get the issues in a nice hardcover so it seems my only option is to spring the 100 + bucks for the upcoming omnibus - if I live that long. With a bit of luck amazon will have it with a discount. But now let´s get to the rip roaring days when Captain America and Bucky were fighting Ratzkis side by side with Spitfire, Union Jack, the Human Torch, Toro and Namor, the Avenging Son. By the way, did americans really call the Nazis " Ratzkis " or was that just in the comics ? I need to know.

Since I already posted some episodes from the original Captain America cartoon from the 60s - and these are not that easy to come by - here are the top 10 Captain America fights from the best Avengers tv show ever.

Speaking of the best tv shows ever, fellow pop culture historian Leo Gonzales from Ayer Nomas takes a look at another cult tv series from the 80s Airwolf thus keeping the military theme in the bonus section going.

Staying on the small screen we take a history of comics on film lesson with the second Captain America tv movie Captain America II : Death Too Soon.

I was thinking about an appropriate music video for the post but I didn´t want to resort to the obvious candidates like In The Army Now so I was going through bands - preferably hot female ones - in military gear which finally brought me to Brown Eyed Girls and their performance of Sixth Sense. To my big surprise I could not find any mention of the girls having trouble even though you can almost see the color of the underwear of the girl doing the leg split and the only controversy that is documented is that some critics said that the political and social message in the song may be overshadowed by their sultry performance. And while they have gotten no rebuke because of their on steamy stage moves so far I must say that I´d like to spend some quality time with the talented girl who does the splits.

One of Captain America´s most talked about storylines at the moment is Captain America No More ! in which Steve Rogers gave up the costume, identity and most importantly the shield of Captain America to don a new black costume and go by the name of The Captain while somebody more inclined to follow the orders of the government without asking too many questions was given the mantle of Captain America. Mostly due to the fact that it was the main plot of the Falcon And The Winter Soldier tv show. I was thinking about how to tie this all in and as usual I had a brain fart because I didn´t even check my old Captain America posts until now.

I did cover the broad strokes of Captain America No More ! in the intro to my ridiculously long BIG CAPTAIN AMERICA POST from May of 2007 where I go through my entire reading history of CAPTAIN AMERICA. And the fact that I included the main part ( an essay about why Captain America is the most important hero in the Marvel universe which I wrote for the german comicbook newsfeed website COMICGATE ) not only in english but also in german ( since I had originally written it in german ) made it only that much longer. Which was the reason why in August of 2011 I finally decided to re - post my überlong Captain America post into shorter parts which are easier to digest. So we have the introduction - which I split up into part 1 which includes the Captain America No More ! stuff, part 2 and part 3 ( yep, that´s how long the originl post was ) and the main part . I also did another version of only the german part without the super long intro.

Plus I also wrote spotlight posts for CAPTAIN AMERICA artists John Romita Senior , Sal Buscema , Steve Epting and writer Mark Waid . Coming back to our video, it doesn´t just cover Captain America No More ! but all the times Steve Rogers quit being Captain America and the significance of it. 

I JUST DROPPED IN TO SEE WHAT CONDITION MY CONDITION WAS IN

Speaking about epic comicbook storylines, I recently stumbled upon a pretty good indicator that the intellectual state of the comic industry in Amerika is declining. Try out this mental excersize : no matter when you started reading comics - in the 60s, the 70s, the 80s or even the 90s - I am sure you remember the classic stories from the first 5 years. I´m sure they are story arcs or single issues ( how I miss the old Done In One format ), mini series, crossovers or graphic novels that have stood the test of time.

Got that list ? Okay. Now comes the hard part : name the classic comic stories that were created in the last 5 years. Quod erat demonstrandum.

Continuing with the men in the military theme we have At War With The Army from 1950 starring the comedy duo of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.

Believe it or not but this was the first movie that came to my mind, mainly for Jerry Lewis´ Beans song. Having been in the military I know how basic the nutrition tends to be ( there´s a reason why the potato sacks for the german military are labeled only apt for pig farming and Bundewehr ) and the food always tastes the best when you are on Manöver, in the fresh air.

Now I have posted the Beetle Bailey Special before but the video has been deleted from YouTube. Let´s hope this one sticks a little longer.

Daimn, maybe it´s just me but Natasha Romanoff lost a lot of sex appeal when she stopped being a russian spy who used her special KGB sex techniques to get intel from hapless american studs with huge horsecocks. It´s the same with figure skater Katarina Witt ( and what a figure : 36C - 24 - 36 ). Ever since the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany she lost a lot of her sex appeal. On the other side she has done a few PLAYBOY shootings since then which we would not have gotten if she was still in East Germany.

She has been in a few videos as Black Widow and while we are ( probably ) never going to see Angie naked - at least as that character - neither are we going to see Scarlett do the full monty since she has gone on record that she will never get naked in front of the camera. Which is one of the reasons why I still haven´t seen the Black Widow movie. Not that it has to be an x - rated movie, but now that they have killed her off the only way they can make one is to go into her past. So it´s a safe bet the movie will also address her spy training which with female spies includes intensive sex training. Which could make for a few good sex scenes but taking into account Scarlet´s unwillingness to shoot any nude scenes and the SJWs stranglehold on Hollywood they will do their damndest to prevent that.

Again, not that it is the only reason to watch the movie but these kind of films can get depressing. So why suffer through all of this drama if the movie doesn´t even have a redeeming Monster´s Ball style sex scene ?

Now I am going out on a limb here and maybe I´m the only one but I always thought that german Zuchtstute Verona Pooth - formerly Verona Feldbusch - would make a great Jessica Rabbit. Another great moment of german tv history involving Verona´s titanic twin torpedoes happened on Stars bei der Arbeit ( Stars at Work ) hosted by Paul Panzer with special guest Kaya Yanar and despite the title it did not show stars at work - which would be showing them at what they do every day - but instead had them trying a job they hadn´t done before.

One of their most famous episodes was the one with german 34C - 24 - 34 über MILF Busenwunder Verona Pooth for obvious reasons. Verona is so incredibly hot that Paul Panzer´s glasses were actually all fogged up when she took off her jacket and revealed her breast assets ! Goddamn, that gal has some huge knockers ! Anyway, I did get the DVD of the first season of Stars at Work and it´s totally worth it for this episode.

Speaking of spies, everybody knows that the world´s greatest spy is british G - Man James Bond ( the fact that the greatest spy is not a US citizen has bugged the americans so much that they felt the need to ridiculize the whole idea of a british spy in the Austin Powers movies ) but how many do remember or at least have heard of James Bond Jr ?

Apropos things nobody remembers, as we are on the subject of soldiers I want to mention Frank Miller´s forgotten opus Give Me Liberty. Back in Germany I had the trade of this and all the floppies of the follow up mini series like Martha Washington Goes To War or Martha Washington Saves The World and I can´t for the life of me understand why this fantastic series never comes up when Frank Miller´s best works are discussed.

With Frank Miller writing and Watchmen´s Dave Gibbons on art you have two top notch creators and with Martha Washington you have a female lead who not only is an afro - american ( whole decades before it became en vogue with the SJWs ) but also has to overcome incredible obstacles.

Now I don´t claim that the following re - enlistment propaganda cartoon is any kind of masterpiece like Give Me Liberty ! but I was tricked by the hot harem girl in the preview picture and false promises of an adult cartoon.

I really have no idea where the adult part comes in, but I certainly share the guys life goals. A bunch of bra - busting, big breasted Busenwunder like nubian deepthroat nympho Janet Jackson or hasian 40D dicktaming machine Yaya Han all dolled up in skimpy slave girl outfits that don´t cover anything who attend my every wish ? Count me in. What is stretching the suspension of disbelief a bit is how the civilian life is portrayed in contrast to easy life in the military but this is still a propaganda cartoon after all.

Another reason for including the cartoon is as a segueway for Tonight´s movie for my german audience, Curse Of The Pharao from 1960 since it stars somebody who was shot into the hall of Hollywood boob fame by wearing a miniscule slave girl outfit : none other than belly dancing cult siren Debra Paget whom some of my readers might remember from Fritz Lang´s double feature of The Tiger Of Eschnapur and The Indian Tomb.

Especially the second one has gone down in erotic movie history because of Debra´s ultrasexy dance in a barely there outfit that only got through the censors through a miracle since it left nothing to the imagination.
